I exercise outside year round and dress according to the weather (there is no bad weather just bad clatter a Swedish friend told me once) The only thing that will keep me inside is black ice! I walk, hike and run. I also have my own weights and exercise area in the house (rowing machine and bench) Joined a gym twice for…

Why does it have to be an or thing? As with all project management the end goal is divided in time and deliverable into minigoals/deliverables. For example my first minigoal on this journey was to fit back into my favourite pants, Then I went on to log for 100 days. Next up was an old skirt I had not fitted for years. The…

I love my GPs common sense Earlier this year I was diagnosed with IBS and I am perimenopausal. I am still working around my IBS and though I am doing well I am still very much learning the signals and my triggers. When I had my annual contraception pill check and told het that my mum had her last period at 56 She just…

I recall that my mother once told me that my nephew (then 19) had been weighed at his gym His BMI was 30, so he is a little out of shape and a bit overweight she cheerfully said I nearly choked on dinner and said Mum he is obese BMI 30 is the obese category It means he is very very overweight and she looked at her plate.…

Actually I am the other way around I am slipping in summer - too hot to move and too much interesting ice cream and BBQ Winter for me is lots of soups and lots of long long walks (and runs) Just wrap it up and getting out

I ran a virtual 10 English Mile race (16,1km) Was a PB on distance. My husband also finished it. To think we were both nervous whether we could finish it as late as this morning.

I made my fireworks I had promised myself that once I had maintained my goal weight for one month I was going to buy a piece (well 5 actually) of secondhand designer clothing I had been lusting over. When that arrived it was fireworks for me :D

Garmin has a 300k steps per month challenge badge. For September (@30days) that means 10K steps per day on average, which is my normal minimum. Easy to bag badge for me, but I like a challenge too. So what to do? I upped the challenge for myself: Get the badge in half the time (15 days). This means 20K steps per day on…

Yesterday was my birthday. My birthday marked my 888th day of my walking 10K streak. How lucky can you get? :)

The first year of maintenance is rough. I agree. What helped me (In maintenance 3 years) is 1. keep moving 2. eat as when I was losing weight, but in stead of having the occasional day of more (i.e. christmas, easter and birthday) having this on a weekly basis. The strange thing is that over time I lost my need to be over…

Throughout my journey and my now 3 year maintenance I have been eating out. My husband keeps mentioning that he is so happy with that. With some adjustments it is quite doable and the key is order less and better. But also learning from what I have learned in MFP When it is a starter: soup (no bread, but that is my gluten…

Today I saw one of my MFP pals recording 2020 days. For me today marks 2387 days. However not under my current account I left MFP tried another similar tool but came back . But throughout that journey I continued to log. So I still mark it from that very first day in 2014

This! I can totally see this. My father always feels pressured by my mother to eat more as she keeps suggesting and more food to him. Poor guy felt guilty for not saying yes as she is incredibly persistent. I explained it like this: She wants to eat something, but know she should not. However if she offers it to my dad (or…

Workout today was a 13k run. But I find that after a run my leg need walking as if to stretch a few hours after my run So there was another 5k walk after that

You should feel proud and you do look super pretty

She is way too nice about it but @sardelsa actually has a blog that I would totally recommend

It is an amazing feeling and a great achievement Well done, you really are right to be happy today

I would suggest some patience. Really a week? It has taken me years to get my thunder thighs under control and in the end it was gazillions of squats, lots of weight training and long long walks plus running that did the trick. Not because of fat reduction but because I built muscle Mind you I had accepted the fact that I…

I love having different colours for my shoes It helps the identification and keeping rotation. Having said that I do prefer the purple and blue ones. I don't like white and bright orange and greens, but I never like those in any type of clothing so it is about consistency there.

The other thing you could look at is increasing cal out - exercise :-)

We have been doing the social distancing for 5 weeks here in the Netherlands now. I'd say 90% of people are great. I have had very very few issue, only when we first got to the social distancing. These days we all engage is the corona shuffle to get around each other and there is a positive vibe from all that we need to…

Despite major set backs and issues Ranging from international travel, injury and pandemics I have been able to lock up 2 full years of at least 10K steps a day. We are still allowed to go for individual walks here so it remains doable. Even if we move into Spanish style locks down I will keep it up walking in my small…

@Safari_Gal That looks stunning! Love the look and would love to have some

56K steps done Nothing happened, apart form being hungry at the end. I was well prepared and trained.

They do exist here, but are not commercially available. I know there is a Dunk Tank at Maastricht University and I think Leiden has one as well

Depends a little on how lucky you are in the gene department and other factors. Personally I sweat less than when I was obese, I am no longer standing in a puddle of sweat like I used to. So from that yeah for me I think I sweat less it seems. But what is more; I have actually come to like being sweaty after a work out. My…
