  • Since you can't seem to find anything to satisfy your craving, maybe the answer is just good old fashioned will power? When I get a craving, I go to the mantra "what do I want more? the xxx (in your case xxx=brownie) or accomplishing my goal?" which will make me feel better? after eating xxx, it rarely, if ever, satisfies…
  • Snacking while watching tv is merely using crunchy things to alleviate boredom. It doesn't work. I get done snacking and I'm still bored. If I get up and do something else, then that attacks the boredom and doesn't wreck my food/fitness plan.
  • bought some new slacks size 14. fit perfectly; haven't done that since 1977!
  • I bought some size 14 slacks yesterday. Last time I wore 14s was 1977. May goal was to shop for clothing with joy, almost there. Still in a ? zone, but definitely NOT negative.
  • I agree with kelMee2. Food is not a reward. Consider it a punishment, because the "treat" will actually make you feel worse, not better. 1. Pick something not food related that you love for your reward, and 2. stick with your food plan. I sit on plateaus for weeks at a time, then things finally break through if I just…
  • PB out of the jar, no crackers or anything else. this keeps me sated and energetic for at least 2 hrs. I also eat almond butter, I like it better. same outcome. I can spread out the meals and eat smaller portions. And when I eat for snack before tennis (yes, at 70 y.o., I'm still playing singles) it gives me the energy I…
  • An old, but very cute tennis skirt fits me again! And a new one I made just a few months ago also fits. I never finished the hem because the waist didn't fit. Now it does!
  • Here is my new photo. I always loved this one-piece ski outfit that I purchased in the mid 1980's. It has lovely details including some stitching in shiny silver thread. The peach color is just right for my complexion. Finally, after many, many years of hoping; about 3 years of trying, and this last year on MFP, I wore it…
  • 5'4" exercise almost every day(as I have forever), singles or doubles tennis or downhill skiing (walking 2 miles or gardening 4-5 hrs in summer) My target intake is 1300-1500 cal/day, and < 1300 net calories/day. This is definitely enough food. I achieve this goal 90% + of the time. I'm losing about 1 lb every 10 days or 2…
  • Patience (and I am not a patient person) is key to getting through plateaus. My plateaus last a month or more, and I just have to stick with my plan. After a while, the pounds start dropping again. Not sure why. The philosophy is: if I stop measuring food and logging it and exercising, then FOR SURE I will fail, so I might…
  • 3 things: 1. be kind to yourself, and be patient. Stick with your program, and in the end you'll break through plateaus. 2. It's the food, stupid! (not you, but for me, this is the mantra) I have been very athletic my entire life, and credits for the exercise, for me are a total mirage. For example, I walked a marathon the…
  • Just be patient, and cut yourself a break! I am in the same boat as you. Friggin' plateau from May-Sept, and finally, finally have broken through. Going off your plan will definitely make things worse, not better. So that's no good for your mental health. Staying on your program, sooner or later, you will break through.…
