That's adorable. My chihuahua actually lies right next to me on the matt during yoga time, belly up!

How many weeks have you been working out and are you eating back all of your exercise calories? I don't know much about cycling burn but 1,000 calories/hour sounds high to me Don't know if you're male or female but 1,200 calories is very low for your height. I'm much shorter and easily lose at 1,600 calories.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard some other people talking about the benefits of Brazil nuts. It seems like the only time I ever see them is during the winter holiday season and then it takes forever to get them out of the shell.

A lot of my diet is fresh fruit and veg, but I also eat dried beans, packaged grains, canned tomatoes, frozen berries, and more. I don't think I'd get enough calories in my day if I didn't eat these things. I'd love to see proof that any of these processed foods are unhealthy.

As far as meal prep there's lots that I do. I always have a container of grains cooked and in the fridge along with a pot of cooked beans. I usually make/buy several days worth of hummus. I keep many types of fresh veg and fruit as well, sometimes washed and precut as well as several types of fresh cooked veg. Sometimes I…

So for me it's actually one day each week that I call Lala day. It's my day to relax and destress. I meditate, take a hot bath, do some yoga and whatever else I see fit. I don't work and don't allow anyone to stress me. I'm 50 and have spent my life taking care of others. It's now my time to take care of myself.

Anecdotally I have suffered with chronic insomnia for about 25 years. Most nights I have a decent handle on it. But every so often I will go through a few weeks where it is pretty bad and I'm barely sleeping. During that time I am so hungry and I crave high sugar treats. I've always thought I had cravings because my body…

I tried this a couple of years ago and it didn't work for me. I guess the rewards weren't enough to get me to eat less. This time around being thinner, fitting in smaller clothing, getting rid of my acid reflux and being fit are my rewards. I'm glad you found something that is working for you. 🙂

I always loved mine with butter and sugar. Or topped with a fried egg. Obviously there's shrimp and grits but I've always been allergic to shrimp so I've never tried it.

So I hike a lot as well and the calorie burn can be over 1,000 calories. I spent a couple of months trying to accurately calculate the calories. Finally I think someone on one of my posts recommended the Omni hiking calculator (Google search). It adds in distance, elevation gain, weight of hiker and weight of pack. For me…

I'm dairy free as well. Just learned at 50 that I'm intolerant. Anyways I've tried some of the plant based cheeses and sauces and just really don't like them at all. So I just don't use any dairy in my recipes. Sometimes I may substitute lite coconut milk. It's been a couple months for me and I will say that not using…

No I don't accept logging forever. I've been here logging for most of the past 5 years. I've finally lost most of the weight and I believe that I finally have learned how to eat in a way that supports health and a healthy weight. I haven't logged since the end of June and have continued to lose weight at the rate I intend.…

My favorite is currently the Wild Basin or Bon and Viv boozy sparkling waters. They come in awesome flavors (the one I'm currently drinking is Cucumber Peach), come in a can so no over pours, and most are around 100 calories each.

Favorite carb for fitness? Well fitness is very important to me and I eat a lot of carbs so... my answer is oats, grains like millet and quinoa, black beans and bananas. I also love the sun dried tomato wheat thins with hummus.

Congrats on your weight loss! Exercise is great for fitness, but weight loss happens because of a calorie deficit. Are you eating at a deficit? How long since you lost any weight?

After 5 years of weighing and logging and finally being successful with my weight loss, I decided to mostly quit weighing and logging over one month ago. It was never my plan to weigh and log even this long let alone forever. So I made up some guidelines for myself to lose my last few pounds. So far so good. I'm still…

I've not thought about this at all. I guess my weight loss, body recomp and fitness are just things that I focus on daily regardless of what the day is or which holiday is coming up. If I had to choose I would say that my goals would be to finally start participating in some 5ks and 10ks and also to add swimming to my…

I've got 5 pounds till I'm at a healthy weight (lost 55) and I swear that weight will all come from my stomach. Lol. All I can do is be patient, especially when the last pounds come off so slowly.

I certainly cannot tell you which macro split is right for you. I can tell you that I eat a high carb diet and lose weight just fine (eating carbs isn't bad for weight loss or menopause). You should eat whichever ratio works best for you. I've been dealing with hot sweats and night sweats for maybe 3 years. Yikes they are…

I eat 3-4 servings of grains per day along with beans/legumes, veggies and fruit. Tons of carbs actually. And for me this has been the easiest and most sustainable way to lose weight. Losing weight is about calories and as long as you stay in a deficit you will lose weight regardless of what you consume.

I've gone from obese to fit, although technically I'm still 5 pounds from being a healthy weight. I get a lot of comments from people about how much weight I've lost and how skinny I am now. Overall that is fine with me although sometimes a little embarrassing. A new thing that is happening is that a lot of guys are…

Having a plan beforehand goes a long way towards better calorie adherence. When I have parties I usually eat light meals before the party. At the party I stock up on the low calorie items, like vegetables and then eat light on the more calories dense items. I always allow myself cake, but only a very small piece. If I want…

There's a huge wall of beer on the perimeter of my store. 🙂

How long has it been since you've lost? Weight loss isn't linear and we don't all lose weight every single week
-
In the beginning - absolutely! I wanted to stop logging. I wanted to eat over plan all the time. I wanted to eat a lot of the calorie dense foods. Today - no way! I'm so close to goal. I look amazing. I feel amazing. I'm a zillion times healthier and more fit. I will never be obese again. (But that doesn't mean that I…

I ran when I was obese too. It was really hard. Most of the time it felt like my lungs were working at half capacity. What worked best for me was C25k. I downloaded the app and used it. And the other advice is to slow down. Even when you've slowed down, slow down again. Seriously. Good luck! You've got this.

I held on to thousands of dollars worth of clothes from before I got fat. During my weight loss I would try on some of it periodically. Today it almost all fits and a lot of it is still in style. I am seriously set for pants, dresses and jackets for a long time. Shirts are a different story. Fashion has been a giant…

Yeah I've lost over 50 pounds with the help of MFP. I'm almost to my goal weight. Using a weight tending app like Libra can help you to see your weight loss trends, if you don't already use one.

Love the link. I see coyote scat pretty often on trail. I'm sure I have some photos I've taken on my phone somewhere. Don't know why but I find their poop so interesting along with every other type of animal scat that I find. My comment was based on personal experience solely. My digestion works so great now that my fiber…
