We exchanged gifts then hung out at our daughter's house yesterday. Stayed away from each other, probably not six feet though. It's ok with me and was nice to see them. Today it's just two of us and yes I am early too much already. I started another puzzle so staying on my feet a lot too I walk around The table doing…

@sleepymom5 If you like fudgy brownies you will like the black bean brownies. I found the recipe posted on here a few weeks ago and tried them for something different and thinking they are better for me than regular brownies made with flour and sugar.

I made some black bean brownies yesterday for me and are only one piece, but had oatmeal cookies too. Made another batch of brownies today to give to My kids tomorrow. We are exchanging gifts but not having a meal together - so different from usual. Merry Christmas to all!

I am hitting my protein goal (15%) or at least coming close this last week. Could be why I've see a drop on the scale! I am trying to pay attention to that more.
-
@sleepymom5 Stay away from cookies? I've still been eating more than usual, I have been keeping the protein up too and I think that's the key. I have found that if I eat a little more for a couple days then go back to my normal eating my weight drops a little. I am also trying to drink less soda even though it's the zero…

I have been eating too many cookies this week and the scale showed it the other day. Yesterday I ate less sweets but more at meal times and the scale went down. I was over on cals but did good on the protein. I think that's what I need to focus on.
-
I didn't think I had eaten that many cookies this week! I need to cut down on the sweets and up the protein more. I had increased it to 14% (64 g) at least once this week, still aiming for 15%. Maybe I can find a recipe for high protein cookies?!

@bumpbreakcar I was using a Garmin for a couple years. I like that it is so easy to recharge, just a quick connect to your computer. I could wear it 24/7 except in the water. The drawback was the battery has to be replaced about once a year and is not cheap. I now have an Applewatch which does a lot more but the charger is…

Yesterday I had the first "double dose" of Keytruda. The infusion went smoothly - in and out in 35 minutes! There were a couple accidents which backed up traffic near the hospital and a lot of people were late for appointments which resulted in long wait times for appointments. My 3 appointments were each postponed by an…

@sleepymom5 Congrats on staying in the 190s, keep doing what you are doing to get to your goal. Congrats on the new/old job. Surely it will be different but better working remotely. You won't have to worry about clothes either. Learning the new software will be fun too.

@sleepymom5 The protein percentage is from the pie chart under my food log. I saw the number of grams listed and was really surprised. Didn't think I ate that much.
-
did the 35 seconds hold on the plank, got 14% protein again - that's 63 g - more than I thought!

My name is Patsy, 68 years old, about 5'2" and 160 pounds. Would love to be in the 140s. I didn't gain weight until my 40s when I was working at a desk all day. My highest was ~179~ about three years ago. I started this year doing pretty good until March when I was diagnosed with liver cancer. The doctors would prefer I…

We had Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter's with the family, my son and grandkids were there. Chris (GS) is home from college until mid January and happy about that. He didn't get along with his roommate so changing that next semester. I ate two servings of turkey and sweet potatoes - was told I would need t run around the…

@KUMEcyclingteam love the turkey cake. Wish I was half that creative with food

I don't remember who posted the recipe for black bean brownies here. I did some substitutions: I used my blender as I don't have a food processor. I used "old fashioned oats" instead of "quick oats" and they came out just fine. I also used honey in place of the maple syrup. I think they taste a little more like fudge…

@sleepymom5 Pam, how are you doing with the plank challenge? I looked at it and saw the suggestion is basically to add time to the plank a little each time so I started at 35 seconds (doesn't sound like much but .. . ) and almost made it o 60 a few days later. Since then I have slacked off and am back around 45. I need to…

pacsnc6 Thursday weigh in Week 3 pw: 160.3 cw: 161.1 My appetite has returned with a vengeance. I should be eating veggies instead of cookies for sure. This isn't much of a gain but still going in the wrong direction.

I have decided to try some planks, see how long I can hold it. Friday I held to a count of 30, yesterday to 35. I now that's not much but will try to build on that. Is there a routine I should try? How many in a day? As I said the other day, I don't do any routine exercising, mostly walking. I need to strengthen my core…

@Freeglerock happy belated birthday. you sure enjoyed your treats that day.

@sleepymom5 Great to see you join the under 200 club again! Now just to stay there. You know how so keep with it. Yes I have been maintaining my weight + or - a couple pounds. The doctor is happy. I have been doing OK with my food, eating more snacks though. I try to move around enough each day to earn those snacks. I…

@melaniedscott thanks, I printed the recipe and will try them. I don't have a food processor so will try it with the blender
-
@melaniedscott I don't like black beans but never tried them baked into something. I usually use a box mix for the brownies, have considered using applesauce though. @trtyingagain5 your niece is precious. That is a great picture to show her in about 10 years!

Good morning, new week to get on track and try to stay there. I have been watching my protein intake for a couple of weeks, trying to stay above 15%, fewer carbs. Most days have succeeded. But I made brownies the other day - craving chocolate - but trying not to indulge too much. Eating smaller pieces helps and it'll last…
