  • Hi - I'm trying to doing ketovore - mostly meat and very low carb (although some days I have more than others) I usually do about 1500 calories a day. I like friends with open food diaries. 800 calories a day sounds difficult to maintain for very long.
  • Beef is much more filling than fish. I would concentrate more on the keto part than the Mediterranean.
  • I took a small break Saturday & Sunday for my birthday. Jumped right back in Monday. I've noticed a real decrease in my appetite this week. I'm eating about 200 calories less per day than I did my first 2 weeks. I haven't weighed myself however. It's weird I have never done real keto for more than 10 days before. I usually…
  • I'd love some friends with open diaries. I like to see how other people do keto.
  • Hi all - I decided to go full keto (<20 net carbs) this time instead of low carb (<100 net carbs) and it's easier! I lost 5#s in 1 week, and I'm 65. I'm doing 70% fat, 20% protein, 10% carbs at 1600 calories a day. Favorite new recipes: I bought a 3# pork belly for $10. cooked it at 300 f. for 3 hours. Then I divided it…
  • I like beef heart. I buy it at Winco for $1.65 a pound. It's lean and meaty. I cut it up into small pieces, add onions, and fry it quickly in oil. I put leftovers with added cumin in tacos
  • 90 plus grams of protein a day is my best will power tool.
  • A lack of adequate protein is the number one reason for hair loss. You can keep your calories fairly low if your protein intake is high enough. You especially need more protein if you're lifting weights. I aim for a minimum of 25 grams of protein per meal (I prefer 30-35). I try to keep my calories at 500 per meal. I…
  • I do 10/14 regularly - I'm adding high protein and less calories now to lose weight. My main meal of the day is at lunch. My breakfast is only 200 calories and my dinner about 400 (lunch is 600-800). I'm 63 years old. I have lost weight before fasting 2 days a week (20 pounds). I've got a girlfriend who lost 80#s the last…
  • Magnesium at night helps muscle pain a lot. I've been walking for years, so I don't get muscle pain from walking (sometimes foot), but I've been working out at the gym with weights this winter and pain is just part of muscle growth.
