Ahh, work was an absolute nightmare this week. So I haven't run since my 15K race on Sunday. Which is sort of a blessing in disguise because my foot has been troublesome as well since I stepped off a curb wrong on Jan 30th rushing home from work in the dark. I plan on getting back on the horse tomorrow since Saturdays are…

Thanks...and no thanks. :)

Had my first race of the year today, a 15K. First time I have raced that distance as well. It was the Atlanta Hot Chcocolate Series. Race was well organized and I recommend it. Got to the race, dropped my coat and bag at gear check and realized I should have brought a throw-away shirt or something. It was misting, windy,…

Thanks for the ideas. I’m not a religious or spiritual person but enjoy the challenge, if you will, of giving something up during Lent. But I really like the ideas of adding something to my routine that will be a challenge. I also like the idea of limiting my time on Facebook (I trade and swap my workshifts in a work group…

Me too. I have about 1600 steps on MFP which was from around 10:00 Eastern Time this morning.

Thank you so much for your comments. I read them, put on my sneakers and went out for a run. I ran 5 miles (had my GPS set for 4.5) because my race is a 15K and I feel accomplished that I ran at least half the distance. Pace wasn't great, but wasn't terrible either and my legs actually feel quite rested after not running…

I feel like I've fallen off the horse. I planned on missing 5 runs last week due to a ski trip. However, I returned on Friday and haven't gotten back out there and I have a race on Sunday morning. It's so hard for me to get back in the groove when I miss a few runs even for a valid reason. How do you break that habit of…

Here are my final numbers for January. I was supposed to run on Jan 29 and 31 but I stepped off a curb with my right foot a little funny and with my ski vacation the following week, I stayed off my foot to let it rest. I finished the month with 85.6 miles over 16 sessions with an average distance ran of 5.35 miles per…

I had something similar on my left side. When I told my massage therapist about it, he really dug into the upper part of my IT band and in the front groin area and it helped immensely. I try to mimic what he did almost every night before I go to sleep and knock on "bone", I have seen a huge decrease in hip tightness and…

When I set up my meals, I have Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Dessert, Snack, Alcohol so when I look at calories from each meal, I can see how many calories come from alcohol. I also add mixers to this as well.

Thanks for the ideas. My Mom has been busy making frozen meals to have so they’re prepared with that. In fact she’s such a germophobe, she probably wouldn’t eat food from strangers (she never eats at potluck parties). They are good with technology so speaking with them every day or almost every day is possible.

Me too. I feel my best after the 25 minute mark. Then around the 80 minute mark I start feeling tired. Hoping as I increase my distances over time, the 80 minute mark becomes 90. But I also don’t fuel during my runs which I probably need to start researching once I get past the 2 hour mark.
