Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. My symptoms are a living hell and so are a lot of other women's! Nobody I know ever talked about menopause or told me about the symptoms of menopause so I don't agree with you there. I actually find your remarks to my post rather snide than helpful.

Happy Birthday! :)

Hey we are menopause twins! Thanks for sharing your story! Wishing you all the best! :)

Thank you for your sharing! I think in this case everyone is different when it comes to self control, especially when it comes to eliminating sugar. I did a sugar cleanse for an entire month in November and after that was over I binged on sugar like there was no tomorrow! Other than that my health is great, my labs are…

It is usually after dinner that I get the sugar cravings. I have tried just having one piece, sometimes I stop at one, sometimes I say "kitten" it and stuff the whole darn bar in my mouth. Afterwards I feel so guilty that I couldn't control myself!

Thank you for sharing AprilFlowersinPA1 :) That is how I feel too! Love my carbs and sweet things! I'm sure everything in moderation would be ideal, that is if one can moderate! ;)

Thank you for your unbiased opinion and helpful advice annPT77. <3 I will try the fruit for my sweet cravings! Btw, you look amazing @ 64 :)

Wow...that's funny, most women that I talked to said that they had gained weight. I haven't gained any yet, but I will if I don't get my cravings for carbs under control.

mlt2908 yes that is exactly what I have heard, that menopause weight gain is different and it does go directly to our tummies! I'm here too to try and do some damage control! Good luck on your journey! Thanks for sharing! :)

marganit1 Thank you for sharing. I haven't had sugar in my coffee for probably 30 years or so. I got used to drinking it black a long time ago! My problem is with chocolate. I try to buy the 70% or more dark chocolate and limit it to a few pieces here and there but sometimes I lose control and find myself eating the whole…

theleadmare thank you for sharing! Sounds like your are in perimenopause. I went through that for only about a year with the crazy menstrual cycles and because I was on an antidepressant at the time I didn't suffer much with the emotional changes. Wishing you all the best! <3

PackerFaniGB thanks for sharing! I agree whole heartily when you said " It should be simple", but its crazy how these cravings can take a hold on you! Its like you become possessed or something! I am hoping that more women will share their stories so that other women can be informed about the changes that occur…

I would listen to your doctor's advice. Did he/she recommend seeing a dietician to help with planning your meals? I think that would be super helpful! I think swapping out heavily processed carbs like white sugar, white bread and white flours for more high fiber varieties would help, but then again, I'm no doctor! :)

You are absolutely right, I just rounded down the number when I posted it! :)

I am 53.

Thank you so much AnnPT77💕

Thanks for all your wonderful feedback! I put sedentary because I don't work, I'm a stay at home. I do however walk an hour a day or more with my dog, mow the lawn, and other house chores. I also put in to lose 1 pound a week. Maybe I will check it again and see where I'm at! :) I think I would starve if that's all I ate!

Totally awesome!! <3
