Crab salad: lump crab with mayo, capers & celery over little gem lettuce and cherry tomatoes on the side.

Kind of lazy with cooking this week. Burnt ends brisket (from Costco), tater tots (air fryed), sweet corn tot and salad of feta, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives and fresh basil spritzed with olive oil. The burnt ends were OK but we wouldn't buy them again. The Med salad doesn't really go with the picnic dinner but I…

Black bean chili con carne from the freezer topped with a couple of fried eggs, guac and sour cream.

@MadisonMolly2017 I always set the treadmill to a 20min walk. This generally keeps my heart rate at just over 100. From what I read this is an ok range for someone of my age (63). My doctor said all of my numbers are good and that I'm quite fit (though I think she meant for my age even though she didn't say it). Sometimes…

Cajun sausage, mashed potatoes w/sour cream and onions and super sweet corn tot. Sausage came from a local butcher.

Chicken and rice soup. I took Friday's tortilla-less chicken soup and added some rice to it. Changed up the spices a bit and added the leftover cilantro. All the rice is on the bottom so you can't really see it.

Chicken tortilla-less soup: chicken, tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, red onion, queso fresco and freshly squeezed lime juice.

Mediterranean/Middle Eastern "nachos". I cut the pita bread into wedges and tossed in some olive oil and za'atar. Baked until hard and dry. Cooked ground lamb with a mix of cloves, cinnamon, allspice, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper and chili powder. Made a version of an Israel salad with tomatoes, cucumber, red onion,…

For the rest of September I'm going to focus on my exercise. Prior to my vacation I had finally started getting into a regular schedule of doing the EPIC workouts and I want to return to that. Because of some shoulder problems I went from every third day to every fourth day but I prefer the every third day cycle so that…

Prime ribeye and salad of romaine, campari tomatoes, cucumber, capers, olives & avocado drizzled in olive oil. Everything topped with blue cheese. Trying to recover from vacation with nothing but protein and salads.

We arrived home from our vacation yesterday afternoon and had pretty good success. There were a couple of times where we each had our own entree because we couldn't find something we both wanted but this is still a success because in the past we would have had an appetizer along with our individual entrees. I need to think…

Lambwurst sausage and mashed onion/potatoes. Sausage came from the butcher shop and was one of their better ones. They have a tendency to over salt but these were perfect.

Shake and bake drumsticks, fried potatoes/onions and corn on the cob. I used gluten free flour and Trader Joe's Ajika Georgian seasoning blend for the chicken. It gave them an odd color but the flavor wasn't as strong as when I use curry powder or other seasoning mixes.

We went out for Mexican food. Flautas (one each: chicken, pork, beef), rice, refried beans, "salad" and negra modelo beer. I only ate half the meal. Way too much food.

I am back after skipping last month. This September I will share limited plates (two appetizers or one appetizer and one entree) with my partner when eating in restaurants. This is important because we'll be on vacation from 6-17 September and I tend to gain a few pounds on vacation due to all the restaurant meals. By…

Spaghetti with pesto and meatballs.

Grass fed beef patty, mashed white potatoes (skin on), corn on the cob. The beef was a freebie from the butcher to entice us to come in and the patties were already formed with some kind of black spice on them. We couldn't figure out what it was even though we could taste something there.

Chicken tacos and Mexican Caesar salad (kit). The Mexican version adds sunflower seeds and some spice to the dressing but is otherwise the same as a normal Caesar salad. Tacos: tortillas from the freezer (purchased from the tortilla place), chicken cooked in a basic salsa, avocado, cilantro, queso fresco, freshly squeezed…

Brunch: breakfast sausage, fried eggs cooked in sausage grease, leftover fried green tomatoes. Sausage came from a local butcher. Dinner: Chopped salad w/avocado ranch (kit), campari tomatoes, kalamata olives, cottage cheese with Trader Joes Umami seasoning blend. The TJ Umami is mostly powdered mushroom powder which makes…

thanks for the tip @acpgee ... that dinner out looks delicious ... you have the best restaurants it seems. We went out for Korean BBQ. First time I've ever had it where they did the cooking for you. We had a combo of chicken, pork belly, beef asparagus, short rib and vegetables plus the banchan and fried rice... oh and…

Air fried green tomatoes, fish (flounder) and tots. Dipping sauce was Primal Kitchen chili lime mayo. I did the coating for fish and tomatoes using gluten free flour, beaten egg and a mix of Ians panko with corn meal and Trader Joes Ajika Georgian seasoning blend as I wanted to add a little spice but not too much. I'm…

Ribs, fries and turnip greens. This place has a limited menu and some dishes are served only once a week. Today was rib day which we've been wanting to try. They add bits of turkey and vinegar to the greens. Everything was good.

Fish tacos, air fried green tomatoes and black beans. I air fried the fish (flounder) and tomatoes by coating in gluten free flour, dipping in beaten egg and coating in a mixture of panko, corn meal, chipotle chili powder and Mexican oregano. Tortillas were from the freezer (previously purchased from the local tortilla…
