  • Well done on your running and eating out choices! You might want to try borrowing a dog before committing to having one for life, to make sure it's the right choice ... maybe try "borrow my doggy dot com" - especially on wet, windy, cold days. I stayed with my sister last weekend, and found that the idea of dragging myself…
  • Hi dkipnes77! I've always been keen on fitness and exercise too, but as I got older, the pounds crept on and stayed on, only shifting with a ridiculous amount of effort - until I read Dr Jason Fung's "The Obesity Code" in November. That book is a game-changer for anyone who eats. I've been doing intermittent fasting since…
  • Rather than avoiding eating out, why not just aim to choose meals that fit in better with your goals? I love to eat out too, and have become a bit better at not launching straight into the highest sugar/wheat/deep fried fat options - though admittedly this only works when you have some good restaurant options available! I…

  • Time to get back in the gym for regular strength workouts now, to keep/build muscle, so that might slow down the weight loss for a bit - but in a good way! The ice has gone for now, so been out for a couple of 3 - 4 mile jogs this week, and found it hard work, so daily walking may be great, but really not the same as…
  • Thanks lbride! Fasting is the easiest way to lose weight I've ever tried. Just wish I'd known about it years ago! :)
  • This is why I love intermittent fasting! No long hard slog on a daily basis, restricting calories for months with little reward. If we mess up a fast day, we just do it the next day instead - it's such a revelation! :)
  • Rather belated update for last wednesday, when I went away to Fort Augustus for a few days of walking / fiddle workshops, excessive amounts of wheat-based and/or sugary food and chips, and late night music sessions. Back to intermittent fasting from today!! 5'2" tall, 58 years old. HW: 160 (June 2016) Ultimate GW: 119 to…
  • Is there a way to edit a previous post you write? I thought I'd be able to just update the original post, but can't see how to do it :# ;) Anyway, here's an update. Had a health scare on Saturday - T.I.A. (transient blood clot affecting my sight) which had me in A&E. Maybe related to the headaches/migraines I had last…
