It's not starvation mode. It's not a slow metabolism. It's just that when you lose weight for a while especially by being hungry for a prolonged period your body produces more ghrelin to try to make you eat more to maintain weight. Not the same concept as starvation mode.

It seems like right now I can't do any kind of deficit. Can't even maintain. I'm starving unless I'm in a surplus!

When I'm doing fine? I do IF and don't eat breakfast, then for the rest of the day I eat every 2-4 hours.

Typical day: 50% complex carbs. 20% protein. 30% healthy fats. Minimally the recommended 25 g fiber but probably more like 50g most days. 64-80 oz of water. No sweets.
