Nice man, I’ve noticed I work well at the gym when I’ve had some quality fats 30-40 minutes prior. Just really found this out and I’ve been in the gym 5+ years now, goes to show ya never stop learning haha

Diet is 70% of the fight lad, if you’re diet is off from your goals... You may not be happy with the results. To grow you need to eat more, lift heavier, and push yourself. Not to the point where you hurt yourself. But something that challenges you in a 4-6 rep range. For example.. Barbell bench press, 4 sets. 135 x 6 reps…

Rice, oats, nuts, pasta, chicken, beef, turkey, fish, steak, bread, peanut butter, ice cream, milk, eggs, bacon, cheese, yogurt, protein powder, etc....
-
That’s entirely too low to drop right from the start. Were you not starving!?

I had a client who’s son was on the high school football team. They were doing deadlifts, big kid; he played offensive tackle. Tore his bicep pulling 225. PS I’ve seen him pull 315 for reps. I didn’t see the injury happen, but I think we all know where his form was off. Form plays a big part of a lift, even if the weight…
-
Great points, what works for you; may not feel best for me, vice versa.
-
It’s more along the lines of good enough, so he doesn’t hurt himself. 🙄
-
Patrick, If you’ve only been lifting for a couple weeks, you need to make sure your form is good enough to start progressively overloading compound movements. This is how you get stronger, which leads to increase in muscle size. And you need to eat, you’ll get bigger and won’t put on too much fat since you haven’t been…

Interesting splits, I dig it. Keep working hard brotha!
-
It’s going to be all about trial and error. Set a calorie goal of 2800, do that for 6-8 weeks; depending on results, add or subtract calories.
-
That’s an awesome routine, active lifestyle 💪
-
Seems like you got it figured out! Keep killing it!

Squats Incline/flat bench press Deadlifts Weighted Chin-Ups (bicep focused) Close grip pin press (triceps) Standing overhead press Others: Weighted pull ups, dips, dead rows

Pick up your own groceries, I don’t think you’d have to worry about it getting eaten by anyone else. And just make better choices when it comes to snacking, whether that be instead of chips, have some nuts. Or instead of a big bowl of ice cream, have a small bowl. Once you make making better choices a habit, the results…

Try having back to back refeed days, and take those days off the gym. 2100 calories is pretty low, and it’s been about 8 weeks. You’re glycogen stores are probably depleted, this will enable you to kickstart the burning process again. Did you start your cut at 2100 calories?
-
All I was saying is that if you’re trying to cut calories and don’t want to get rid of certain foods you enjoy and are still using oil, switch to the spray. Good luck to everyone on their weight loss journey
-
Exactly, I’m asking. How would you go about it? Just eat as much as possible and not worry about fat gain, or try an monitor it and gain weight and strength slowly?
-
Just interested in hearing people’s opinions, and how they go about different topics. I’ve done nothing but encourage on my threads, people get bent outta shape when someone has a strong opinion about a certain subject.
-
But it is a key tip, I have clients who have come to me and thanked me. “I didn’t realize how much oil I was actually using” but you’re right. I’m not arguing with you over the “key tip” thing

Those are good percentages, high protein is always best. If my fats are too low, I get moody. I try and keep them between 0.4 - 0.6 per one pound of body weight. Carbs are the best tho for sure
-
No, don’t be silly. I mean consuming actual food, solids. Oils never really kept me feeling “full” Same with protein shakes, never did it for me. I use avocado oil while I’m bulking a bit more than I use it now, and just use protein shakes to get my protein intake up. But if you ever wanna snort some olive oil, let me know
-
You can use the spray time on the bottle 3x the amount of 1 serving of avocado oil/olive oil and still have around 20 less calories. Calorie friendly is great while calories are low
-
I agree, who really wants oil tho? Yeah it’s healthy, and it fries up some good bacon. I personally feel like it’s a waste of calories, I’d rather eat my fats. Also, this way helps ME avoid the whole bingeing idea. You should never not eat foods you enjoy, that’s not what I’m saying at all.
-
I didn’t say it’s the only way... I said key tip, not only tip. It’s just one way, to minimize caloric intake. Like ice cream, pasta, and chips, people tend to overuse oil. All I was saying
-
Well, congrats on that 238 pounds!
-
But yes I agree with everything you said, I use grass fed butter in my eggs also. Mostly the cooking spray for my lean meats.
-
I used avocado oil for my turkey bacon everyday. I’m just saying, cooking spray is great for people trying to cut calories and keep food intake up. Simply
-
Lol! Congrats on that 17 pounds. People have different strategies to losing weight, whatever works for you. No need to get bent outta shape mam’
