You can do it! Welcome!

From both my sister and sister-in-law (at different meetings) "Don't lose anymore!" I'm 5'6" and 145 lbs - literally 1 lb away from the 'ultimate goal' I picked for myself when I started 74 lbs and 78 weeks ago. This figure is in the upper end of the healthy-weight range for someone my height. Since I'm 55 years old…

I'd volunteer that I'm an INFP, but then you'd likely know more about me than I'd prefer to let on just yet, so forget I even said anything. Now excuse me while I go find where you hid the dog so he and I can bond.

I got notification that my Quest is on its way <3

Congrats! What kind of information are you looking for? (I mean, do you want help with the site and how to use it? Or are you looking more for nutritional or exercise advice?) It helps if you mention your current stats (age, height, weight, how active you are now, etc.) and your goals (whether it's losing __ lbs by summer,…

I finally got authorization to return the unit, but first the pdf of the return label wouldn't print right, and now I'm sick, so I don't want to go out in public and freak out the locals. (I'm nearly 100% certain it's just a cold/flu. :fingers crossed: )

That your tailbone, a body part you seldom if EVER gave a moment's thought about when you were 'fluffy', will remind you nearly Every. Moment. Of. Every. Day. of its existence.

It's a game for me, too. Logging has allowed me to lose 58 lbs in this past year pretty painlessly. (I didn't even join for myself, I only started because I'm caregiver for my disabled brother w/moderate dementia and diabetes. I wanted to get him in as healthy a place as I could, but still feed him the comfort food he's…

Decided to splurge and buy a Quest for myself as a birthday gift to me. Kept a daily eye on the site, because they (and everywhere else!) were out of stock, I guess because supply is being interrupted over Covid-19. But finally, I managed to order and it came Friday morning. But it doesn't work! I can pair the headset to…

Puttering around in a nit-picky way in the kitchen boosted my calories-burned total to the point where I'm under my goal for the day, but I can still sneak a Werther's out of my brother's candy jar (and only feel guilty over the thievery! :D )

I clicked on your name under your photo next to your post, then I clicked on your name in the box that popped up. The next page that pops up is where you send a friend-request.

I'm a caregiver, so if they're listening, they mostly hear, "Are you gonna poop?", "Are you pooping?", and "Are you done pooping yet?". Pretty sure they have us on a 'Don't Bother' list by now. :D

I use Nutricost whey protein isolate, unflavored. No fat, no carbs/sugar, and it works as well in my cooking/baking recipes as it does in beverages. I buy it in 5lb tubs so it's only $0.57/oz.

Someone 'disagreed' with my previous comment... (Now I'm wondering if my I-ness or my P-ness is in doubt.) 'Scuse me whilst I ponder.

You can also look to see if you have a dental school in your area. They often have low- (maybe even no-) cost clinics where supervised upperclassmen work on you. If you're in the US, search for dental colleges and programs on the American Dental Association site to see if there is one near you. That said, my disabled…

I've never seen anything like this, it looks like so much fun! Any idea how much it'd cost a newbie to get started?

That's my real name (Mom had quite the sense of humor :/ )

I found a little coffee grinder in a thrift store. Best $5 I ever spent. I use it to grind chia seeds to make egg-substitute for baking, and for puddings (current fave - chia walnut-milk pudding flavored with maple, vanilla, & cinnamon, mm-mmmm!)

Sure, especially if he doesn't mind sharing his beard-care techniques.

I've been wondering about this myself. My brother (diabetic, disabled, and VERY sedentary, like 200 steps per day would be a busy day for him if I didn't "make" him exercise.) His recumbent bike gives a calorie-burn total that I plug into MFP, but I have no idea how much his strength-building exercise sessions use. It's…

I'm the caregiver for my older brother (65, w/diabetes, plus mild-moderate dementia from hydrocephalus as well as COPD, and schizoaffective & bipolar disorders). I joined us up to MFP to see if I could at least get a handle on his diabetes through diet, since getting him to do ANYthing other than watch TV was a struggle. I…

I'm down 52 pounds since February, so I've been noticing this growing (ha!) problem too. I'm trying retinol and hyaluronic acid serums topically, roman dry brushing (sporadically, I admit. It's more for circulation and exfoliation than anything else), and drinking homemade stock for the collagen. I'm in my mid-50s though.…

I whisk together whey protein isolate (unflavored, 20 g) and Benefiber (2 tsp), then blend in 1/2 cup homemade soaked-walnut-milk & chia gel, and 1/2 cup homemade milk kefir. Then I pour all that over 41 grams of generic Cheerios and 22 grams of raisins. Plus my cuppa coffee with 1/2 tsp sugar and 1/4 cup milk. Works out…

Somewhen near the beginning of my journey from '217 lbs to Healthy', I came across this: I'm 54 years old and 5'6", and my wrist measures 7 inches above the ball joint of my ulna. Since the increments between frame-sizes for women seem to be 1/4 inch, I decided to operate under the assumption that I have an XL frame-size…

FWIW: According to this article, the max amount of protein that can be absorbed from a meal is about 35 grams at a time.
