I don't have progress photos. But I do have a pair of size 22 jeans I wore last year when they fit perfectly. So I had husband take this picture for me. It's quite the difference!

Hey, no worries. Your head is still in one piece and that's a pretty big win. :)

CW: 182.8 I've been feeling a bit down about my size lately because I still feel so fat like I've hardly changed. So I had husband take this picture (sorry for poor quality.) These are size 22 jeans that I once bought because they fit perfectly. Now there's like 6 inches of space there.

@SMcFall0215 I jumped up 6 pounds on Monday and today I'm down 7, so never underestimate the intensity of water retention fluctuations. Make sure you're weighing naked or very lightly dressed and always at the same time of day, ideally morning before you eat anything and after you pee. Even so, those numbers are pretty…

Happy Fri-yay everyone! On Monday I weighed in at 187.6. Today, 182.8. That TOM water retention is no joke. Took all week to drop it. -_- Friday is exercise and order takeout day. So my plan is try get an hour of VR in and then get a bowl of pho tai. But I'm cramping very badly so the exercise might be shorter. I'm…

You're eating more than you think. It's simple science. You can't eat 1200 and not lose weight therefore you are eating quite a bit more than that. Especially if you aren't weighing everything. Calorie info on packaging can be off by up to 20%.

Some time in the next month I'm gonna learn how to use a plasma cutter. I'm weirdly excited. That's all the news I have. It has been quite calm and quiet around here.

I've lost 88 pounds and I've been doing this for 13 months. I started at the end of March 2019. It's slow going for sure. But even if I can't see it, the fact is I'm down 3 sizes in shirts and pants. Small warning: my cholesterol tests keep coming back much worse, and apparently this is a thing when you lose weight. Since…

It took losing like 50 lbs to even start noticing it honestly. Even now, I feel like I've barely changed. Your self perception lags a bit.

I think there is a diet where you eat 500 calories one day, then 2500 the next, so it averages to 1500 a day. And that's not so terribly different from other forms of IF and since your body is getting enough to live on, it doesn't damage anything. But the idea there is low today, high tomorrow. Not low today, normal…

My doctor refused to renew a certain medication I rely on because it was too risky at my weight. He put me on a different, lower risk one that had side effects that made me cry myself to sleep for weeks. I couldn't stand it anymore. I googled weight loss, found this app, and never looked back.

@BeUncommon The worst part of it all is, I'm Canadian. Our premier is basically Trump's mini-me. I loathe him. I'm PMSing pretty bad too so it's hard to face all this BS all the time. On the brighter side of life, we're trying to figure out what to do with the time we took off in June since our beach vacation plans are…

My stomach hurrrts and I need someone to tell me to stop indulging in retail therapy on Amazon and also to shoo me away from looking at/being tempted by pretty clothes. It is not yet time for the shopping spree to end all shopping sprees. That is 30 lbs from now. I started wearing my engagement ring again. Predictably,…

Yesterday we had pizza for dinner. I ate my three pieces, and there was some left. I wanted to eat it. I hate leftovers. I love pizza. I was still slightly hungry. It wouldn't have been the end of the world. But I thought about how full I would be, and how uncomfortable and gross overeating makes me feel, and how my brain…

You won't notice it until you do, and then you will really notice it. There was a thread not long ago from a woman who was doing fine until her heart suddenly failed. That's just how it goes. Absorption of synthetic vitamins through pills is not 100%. You're seeing more muscle because you're losing the fat around it. But…

Oh man. I worked from home all last week and it sucked. But now I'm back in the office and it still sucks, just with less back pain from hunching over my laptop on the couch. They're reopening a bunch of stuff. This week. We haven't even hit the peak of our curve yet. So many people are going to die because of this and I'm…

I don't care about much either right now, but that's translating into hardly eating anything so there's that. The hardest part is always just keeping at it. Months and years go by and you have to look forward at the months and years to come without getting exhausted and worn down. Find things, anything, to be happy about…

You are eating way too little. Men should never drop below 1500 calories a day, and even that's gonna be too low for most men who aren't quite short and sedentary and already near a healthy weight. You're not those things. You should never cut more than 1000 calories off your TDEE either. The reasons are varied but the…

I eat clean by thoroughly rinsing my fruits and vegetables prior to eating to get the dirt off, washing my rice, and washing my hands before and sometimes after meals. Also I don't use the five second rule. Any food that hits the ground for any amount of time is garbage. To more specifically answer your question, since…

Sometimes life gets that bad. But there's always something good. The world isn't all greys and shadows, there's also rainbows and sunshine. Even then, if you can't see them, sometimes the good is just that you made it out the other side. The future has all kinds of possibilities as long as you're still trying.

You can use corsets to modify your figure, if you wear them long enough and keep tightening them. I love my corsets, though I don't use them for that purpose. They take the strain right out of my back and they're so pretty. Unfortunately the ones I have also make my chest kind of obnoxious.

April was a tough, tough month. But it's over! Let's all look forward to May. My biggest lesson to learn in all this has been the importance of baby steps. It's OK to go slow, it's OK to make tiny changes instead of big ones, and doing so builds into huge things over time. A snowball effect. So here's a challenge for…

Final April weigh in: 184.8

Gross. XD Thanks for the visual though, it's a good reminder.

@speyerj @wholebygrace Thank you for the shout outs! Its amazing how generally more comfortable I feel in my own skin, even though I still have a ways to go. It feels good to work hard and see results. I'm gonna shock my doctor when I see him again (small, petty goal). That said. Someone please tell me to stop looking at…

Happy First of May, particularly to any other Jonathan Coulton fans. If you're gonna look that reference up, its NSFW. ;) I'm Amber, and one of your motivators. I joined MFP 13 months ago at 272 pounds and weighed in this morning some 88 pounds lighter than that. I attribute my hard work to the support and encouragement of…

If salty things and avoidance don't work, you can try my strategy: eat a small number of M&Ms or Reese's Pieces or the like, very slowly. 20 grams of Reese's pieces are 100 calories and I've found that eating them slowly one by one, even if it's only a few, tricks my brain into thinking I've had more chocolate than if I'd…

I measured myself like four times because I thought I was doing it wrong, but I'm reasonably sure now: I've lost three inches off my waist since the last time I measured. After months and months of not seeing any change. I also dropped out of an obese BMI into an overweight one. I'm soooo tempted to reward myself with…

Hello everyone! I've been so overwhelmed with life that I didn't end up posting much at all in April but I'm back for May, probably. I am definitely losing track of days and time. I feel quite disoriented. Weight loss is going pretty well overall, though next week is my visit from Aunt Flo so I'm up all this water weight…
