Anecdotal evidence: My diabetes reversed without medication. On diagnosis, my doctor wanted to give me metaformin. I asked to 3 months to try a diet first. At the time of diagnosis, my hemoglobin 1AC was 50 mmol/mol (diabetes starts at 48). Three months into my diet it had fallen to 36 (pre-diabetes starts at 42). It is…

I also failed in my attempt at a rest day. I still had an arm pump on waking, so climbing felt unwise. I did an of yoga in the morning. I did an evening walk, not very far - probably 4 miles. I then lifted a little, doing: 3 sets of 10, 70 kgs, squat 2 sets of 8, deadlift, 100 kgs.

I went climbing again. I haven't recently done two days in a row, but I wanted to pick up the jumper I left at the gym. It was not bad. I was slightly better than last time, although I was out of form yesterday. I got an 8 mile walk in after the climb.

Friday 7 mile walk Saturday Climb. I wasn't in particularly good form. I went to Vauxwall for the first time since lockdown, and didn't send much of note at all. I left my jumper there, so I may go back tomorrow. They opened a new arch, (the gym is in railway arches) and the grading there was bonkers. Getting a v1 felt…

@Djproulx - good luck! I went climbing. It was a decent enough session. My endurance is coming back; this was 90 minutes and only ended due to the gym closing.

Monday I considered climbing, but it typically goes badly the day after a marathon walk. (The walk was 25 miles, but I did a bit more when I got back to get to the requisite 26 miles.) So I did some light jogging. Tuesday Climbing. I think this went really well. They reset in the main room, and haven't tagged the climbs…

Genital yoga? Us that with your partner?

I did a 26 mile walk yesterday, over many hills. I was expecting to be broken today, but so far it's not been too bad. I may go for a climb this evening, but past experience tells me I am likely to be out of form, so it maybe wisest to wait until tomorrow.

Friday I meant to go to climbing, but cocked up the timing. So I did kettle bells instead: Goblet squat, 3 sets of 5, 32 kgs 5 TGUs, 16 kgs. 100 swings, 24 kgs Deadlift, 1 set of 5, 100 kgs (this one was barbell, obviously.) Saturday Scuba diving, 2 lovely dives straight outta Brighton. Sunday Walk, 26 miles, estimated…

Wednesday I went for a climb. I was in reasonable form, and got two of my projects. At this gym, before lockdown I used to be able to one of two of the v3s. Now I seem to be able to get about half of them, I think the route setting must have got easier. Thursday Day off, although I got a decent walk in, ending on 16,000…

Happy Friday everyone! I am off for a scuba dive tomorrow, and a 24 mile hike on Sunday. It could well be a good weekend.

Monday I went for a climb. I wasn't massively in-form, but I wasn't terrible either. I got one new hard route, and repeated a lot of previous harder routes. Amazingly, I got a double dyno move to work. I fell off later on, but I rarely get the jumps to work, so it was very fun to to that. Tuesday I did some light benching…

My avatar is me on the climbing frame in my garden (en route to a campus up the board with no feet involved). I can now do at least 20 pull-ups in a single set - at the start of my MFP journey (in February 2019), I struggled to do just one.

I went for a quick dive this morning in a muddy hole to check out my twinset. It seems to work; hopefully I can do shut-downs in it. I had my second dose AZ this afternoon. It was a couple of town's over from Epsom (in Leatherhead). I walked there and back, so got 30,000 steps in for the day.
-
I get my second dose vaccine on Sunday, but I have time to get a quick scuba dive in first.

I was on very, very good form. It was great fun. I'm not sure why, but the endorphins from climbing are my favourite form of exercise high. Here is me on a dive: https://youtu.be/2hV_mU7BnKE

Yesterday, I did lower body lifts. I took it fairly easy, as I hadn't lifted for a while due to the scuba mega-trip. I did:* Squat, 70 kgs, 3 sets of 10 * Deadlift, 100 kgs, 2 sets of 10 * Walking lunges, 32 kgs, length of garden for 3 sets. I did an hour of yoga early this morning. I'll probably go for an evening climb.

I went climbing. I started pretty well, but got pumped quickly. I lasted 90 minutes, but didn't get anything meaningful for the last 45 minutes,. I guess 10 days off climbing hurt my endurance. I spent most of my time on the cave routes, as climbing upside down is more fun. Maybe I should have done some slab.

My dive trip is over. The final dive was a bit epic - 62 minutes on a 24m wreck, with about 15 minutes outside the wreck (most of which was my buddy's deco stop) and the rest squirrelling around in small, silty holes. I was on nitrox 32%, so I had no deco, but my buddy was on air. My air consumption was why we needed to…

I am now on a bit of a tour of the South coast to get some dives in. The weather has been dreadful, but we got 2 on Saturday; 1 yesterday and 2' today. The trip was scheduled to end on Friday, but we may carry on until Monday (which is a Bank holiday in England.) We drive for 4 hours for today's dives, to get to somewhere…

I had a hospital appointment, and I don't like the Tube, so I did a lot walking to get back from it. (I also needed to do some running to get my train on the way there.) The good news is that flesh has grown over the device covering the hole in my heart, so I now have full scuba sign off! My bend was in 2017, do it's taken…

Climbing! It was possibly my best ever session - I went on a sending spree. I normally do slab for bits of the session to lower the pump; I did way more caves and overhangs than usual. The downside was that I did get pumped more quickly than the usual, so only lasted 75 minutes.

Good luck with the half marathon, Mike! Thursday An hour of yoga, followed by a rest day. (I managed 15,000 steps so wasn't completely sedentary.) Friday 90 minutes bouldering in an average session. I got one new route graded v4, although I suspect it's actually v2-ish. It is very long, out of a cave, with a deadpoint for…

Mike - your workouts show an amazing work ethic. Some of them look properly brutal to me. I tend to do spend most of my time doing what I enjoy the most, like climbing, scuba or hiking. Then it doesn't really feel like an effort - it's just fun. Anyway, today I did another 5k run. I was slightly under 30 minutes, and so…

Monday Just under 1 hour of yoga (I faffed about making coffee in the preliminary bit), followed by a 2k run. I was on a walk, but I got bored and sped up. I was slow - 12 minutes for 2.17 km, according to Fitbit, which is line with my 5k pace. Tuesday 2 hours bouldering. This was pretty good - I got one harder project,…

Friday I got 23,000 steps in, which is not bad for a work day. I also played with kettlebells, doing: 3 sets of 5, goblet squat, 32 kgs 1 set of 5 (both left and right), Turkish get-up, 16 kgs. 10 sets of 10 swings, 24 kgs. I got 23,000 steps in, which is not bad for a word day. I also played with kettlebells, doing: 3…

Monday I felt terrible - I think I ate something that disagreed with me. I still managed a reasonable length walk - I've got over 10,000 steps every day since 3 days after my heart surgery. (According to the release letter, I wasn't allowed to walk long distance immediately afterwards. After three days, I was allowed to…

I did an hour of yoga. I then went climbing. I was terrible for the first 45 minutes. I was falling off v2s. Then I accidentally sent a v4, which had been a minor project. I got a few more v4s, and it turned into a not bad session. I lasted 2 hours, and then needed to leave as Sunday train service is terrible.
-
I got a climb in at a gym. It was good, I was in reasonable form. I also managed a few walks over the day, so I'm on over 20,000 steps. Not bad for a workday.

I drove 7 hours in total to get to the coast, and got a long, shallow shire dive in. My drysuit leaked, so it was on the nippy side. Water temperature was 10C; Vis was over 5 metres. It was an hour dive at around 5 metres deep. My Surface Air Consumption Rate was 11.7, which is pretty low given how cold I was. Edited to…
