Which one did you pick? I used a Trail 40 this last time (under 3 lbs, front loading). I highly recommend it. I wore a wicking tee and I didn't notice any excessive sweating.

I don't think it's ever ok to feel guilty. About anything. Guilt is a worthless and negative emotion. It's much healthier to feel regret, then move on. Regret is somewhat more positive and it jelps you to not repeat what causes it. Guilt just drains you.

Are you looking for a beginners program? Stronglifts is a good one, IMO. They have a very informative website and a great (free) app, too.

And, don't forget, water weight gain comes with weight training. Your muscles retain water to help repair the micro-tears, sometimes 5-6 pounds worth.

It's also easier to drink calories than to eat them. A big PB and banana protein shake made with whole milk can easily add 700-800 calories.

I'm through the looking glass on this one; I've had two doctors (a family friend PA and a BIL internist) ask ME about fitness and nutrition. Despite my -IMO- moderate and practical advice, one still eats most of his meals from vending machines and the other is starting the Red Juice/Green Juice stuff.
