I had to buy a new rain jacket and the first 2 I tried—3x and 2x—were too big. I probably could have gotten L, but went with 1x for extra roominess.

Hi. I’m seating dinner at 5 pm, but I go to bed by 7:30 so it’s not that early  I didn’t log food yesterday. I needed an “off” day and didn’t care if I went over. Back on track with my healthy eating again today. Super rainy today, knee pin yesterday, so only a couple of active days outside work. I get a specific…

Sara, you've been busy. Is walking typically hard for you? I hadn't done hills in a while, and today did my usual hilly route (out where Skye got injured, so we hadn't been back while she was healing). Man that first hill almost took me out! It's almost a half-mile of incline and mostly pretty steep. How quickly we lose…

64 years old 5’8” Starting weight: 210 (Jan, 2024) Lowest weight: 180 (Sep, 2021) Goal weight: 168 March 5: 206.2 I've trying to cut calorie here and there, especially earlier in the day. Not a lot, like 5%, just to tic down the total logged each day b/c I still go over my goal, although I usually have at least some…

Lana, I hop you are enjoying your trip. What took you to Norway at this time of year? I'm home--primary day, and no one wants kids in school buildings being frequented by strange adults who may or may not be there to vote. Teachers had to use a sick day, but I had earned a day of comp time so I am using it. Sunny and…

Good morning. I was 206.4 this morning--but I might be dehydrated. Dune II is really good, but can be confusing. Getting a jump on logging this am. Have a great day.

I can relate. I lost 65 and have regained 30, after losing both mom and dad. It happens. I'm glad I had the time with them I did--both were 91 when they passed, 1.5 years apart. It's hard and I miss them a lot. The good news is, we didn't gain it ALL plus SOME back. I'm grateful to stop myself now. Just luck that I'm in a…

Good morning. My sons and I are going to see Dune II. We need to watch the last 25 minutes of Dune I to recall what the heck happened (we watched up to the last 25 recently, but never re-finished). Plus I need to walk Jem for training and get in at least 2 miles with Skye so I can get a jump on my daily goal. No running…

Thank you. I am still here, still not giving up. Down 3 lbs and then stalled--but for obvious reasons. I'm having a lot of knee trouble and will get it taken care of (shot in the left knee) by March 11, so I should be back to jogging regularly after that. I got the shot in my right knee in Feb and can now tell how bad the…

Lana, that's such a good point about travel and eating--too much salt! I'd wait a week after returning to assess my actual weight b/c I would feel the water retention too. It was less so with walking a ton and drinking lots of water, but always there. Rough seas; I hope things settle soon. Are you on a huge cruise ship? If…

Thanks. I drink a ton of water, so it's not that. But yeah, maybe cutting down on cals--although I'm already feeling hungry so I do worry about that part. I appreciate the feedback.

@justanotherloser007-I bought the salad dressing you mentioned. Not a huge fan--yet? I'll keep trying and re-reading your post b/c it has so many great ideas. Thanks again.

Onederland. 207 and working on it.
-
I'm still trying. That's it--and it's a lot, for me.
-
Greetings. I'm currently at 207, but have been stalled for a while. I was 180 in 2020, up to 2010 this winter. Life is busy and I'm often a bit lazy (and sometimes that works to my advantage--I won't get treats if I'm tired :) ) I'm 5'8, and I'll be 65 on March 17. I have 3 adult children, two of whom moved back in with me…

Tillie, how do you stagger your protein? I'm not sure I do. I try to front load it. Maybe that's the problem? Lana--wow! how fun. One sister and I did a hiking trip in Scotland in 2019, and my younger son and I did a month-long trip in the British Isles (yeah, I couldn't afford it . . .but once in a life time, right?). We…

Congratulations. That's a big one. I don't buy junk food when doing weekly shopping. My rule for myself is, go out and get a single serving if you can't withstand the craving. With few exceptions, my laziness overrides my craving and I skip getting that single serving entirely. Every day I log in here after not meeting my…

Lana, you are going to Norway? How fun! Yes, I do not like or eat much meat/fish/poultry. I just don't like it. So the protein is a chronic issue. I'm going to try to keep having chicken at lunch--sliced, sandwich, with mustard. And to go back to eating more tuna. And maybe eggs. But I just don't ever buy red meat or pork…

You look great, and you are inspiring--just what I needed to see today. Thanks, and congrats.

Two today: got out for a full-moon-lit stroll with my pup, covered 3.25 miles and feel great. Also had a healthy breakfast afterwards, and logged. All this despite scale-fail this week, so I'm kind of proud of myself. Staying on the horse no matter what.
-
That's the best attitude. Hard to hang in there, but slow wins the race (fast drops out).
-
Good morning. I got up really early and went for a pre-dawn walk in the full moon--gorgeous. Chilly. And Jem had a great time. Skye can't go yet, but I'll take her out for a stroll later. Nice day to be out. Still struggling to be consistent. Will have to abandon my boys about 6 pm nightly--that's when they start deciding…

Congratulations. I'm sure you know you look great, but I'll bet you also feel so much better. It's a relief, not carrying it all around. Well done!

Hey, all. Wed wasn't bad--I went to work, felt tired and a little dizzy but got through it. Today was fine. I never had reactions to vaccines until my first Covid shot. Now it seems routine to get a little sick. But I'll take that for better outcomes. 2 days before Xmas break I started getting the flu--it felt just like…

by 2021, I was down to 180 for the 3rd time in 2 decades. Each of the first 2 times, my rebound weight went higher each time. So the 3rd time, I had to lose 65 to get to 180--and caught myself just before hitting 30 lbs regained. So, yeah, this is "normal." It takes time to find out what works, what interferes, what one…

I think it's important to claim exercise time for yourself, and get it done when you say you will get it done. I have found--over decades---that excuses pile up as the day unfolds. My preference is to go early a.m., which isn't feasible with my job, so my "rule" is I have to go at least 1 mile when I get home before I can…

I'm setting myself a challenge--lose 7 lbs/get under 200 by my birthday, a month away/ Not too difficult--just more of the same good with fewer of the same not-so-good days.
-
This is inspiring. I'm almost 65 and had success a few years ago, then gained some back, and still need to lose about 50 to be in a range that will allow me to stay mobile for many years to come. My knees were the motivation. If you can do this, I'm thinking I can. Thanks

This made me laugh bc one of the FEW things I enjoy about being heavier is how well I float. Like, if floating were an Olympic sport, I'd be a medalist. Good for you, though, and congratuations.

I thought of a new question--@mo2go--Do you maybe have allergies ones you didn't have before? I went 18 mo of constant illness (including a bout of Covid) where my respiratory system seemed to be failing--and I couldn't believe it, so athletic my whole life, even when fat. Constant sinus infections, chest pain, deep wet…
