LNS tonight!! Craving sweets.

TY for daily accountability. I’m at my highest weight & pre-diabetic. Uncomfortable when bending forward due extra flab around stomach. Lower back issues emerging. I can’t exercise this off & my metabolism & muscle mass is on the other side of 50. So it’s time to commit to eating clean & managing stress through self-care.…

wow—so need this. Got blood work back & stepped on the scale this week—I’m moving in the wrong direction. I keep pretzel rods by my bed for crunch & salt cravings. Anything more than/other than 2 is LNS winning.

Dancing! Jane, thank you for reminding me to turn on the music! When I was married my husband & I danced in the kitchen all the time. I especially loved the Putamayo soundtracks I used to buy at S**rbucks. After the divorce my youngest son & I danced hip-hop. Now it embarasses him of course, because he is a teenager! I…

Annie—I feel you: I ate two pints of Talenti double dark chocolate gelato & 2 bags single origin dark chocolate chips over the course of the last week. Only shame b/c my parents see it in the freezer & a low bank balance prevented me from restocking...

Wow, pre logging! I do that for dinner on. my “best” mindful eating days so I can meet macros & nutrients goals for dinner. Should try pre-logging other things too...Great idea

I grew up & went to college in NJ and spent 20 years in Vermont, sandwiched with brief stints in Westchester County just north of NYC. I had a rough week both with clean eats & not exercising much. The less I exercised, the more tired felt. 3 hour naps replaced 21/2 hour workouts. I need a job offer!!! But today I pulled…

Machka—thank you for role modeling that we need to take care of our health needs! prioritize them !

Dear Lovely & Strong Women 50+, I wish I were more consistent but haven’t been able to create the habit yet of tracking nutrition, which makes me mindful of eating & accountable. Despite this I’ve maintained the weight loss I have achieved since April but still need that 20 lbs off to get back to better body fat %. Living…

Wow, an awesome community. I am such an intermittent logger, blogger. Job search definitely saps motivation. After applying for two jobs everyday when I wake up, I often have no energy left. I have GOT to start taking hikes again to reward myself, esp now that weather has cooled to autumn. Just need to avoid hunters! Still…

Ty!! I tried this in April as part of an single-subject experiment design in a statistics class. Now to try again with a support group. I added journaling at night to substitute for (or proceed) LNS. Want to recommit.

Yes to toxic food environment. Unhealthy eating is not only normalized but promoted in every form of media, the diet & fitness industrial-complex, and the global food business. the more woke I get to this reality the sadder & madder I get that it is like this.

Yeah, a woman I thought was a best friend told me my thighs were starting to look TOO thin, AFTER I told her about my progress (btw my thighs are not too thin lol).

Slow and steady wins the race. When there are setbacks or plateaus, I focus on the fact that I did it before which is proof I can do it again. When I don’t see results I like or slide backwards, my signature move is a shrug and “oh well” before getting on with the rest of my day/life. My current weight/waistline is not the…

Love this idea! Best thing I ate was cough drops (I’m sick right now with a bad cold) which I subbed in for butterscotches I’d been eating like they were going off the market! Less sugar & more soothing to throat.

Oh yeah, and no alcohol or chocolate (that’s my stretch goal)

Those three shifts are my goals for July—more water & herbal tea, accurate reconstruction of daily food using photos & weight/measure. Also once I am out of bed back to walking 30-60 mins each am and buying &prepping healthy snacks & meals in advance, which I was already doing

Love the idea of photographing food! Instead of relying on memory the next morning. I am laid up in bed for fourth day of nasty cold & trying to drink lots of tea & water. Plan to clean out frig as soon as family leaves today b/c it is full of fattening leftovers & takeout (cannolis, anyone?). Also need to get back in…

Not sure how I feel about comment about doctors “fat shaming”. Being overweight really is bad for people and can lead to chronic debilitating & degenerative disease and dangerous conditions like diabetes mellitus, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, even cancer. I worked in a nursing home and saw the aftermath of strokes in…

Louvee and others— yeah, nothing like a health scare to renew commitment!!!

would you mind sharing what your motivation is?

To all who are experiencing return of weight after triumphant loss— I am in same shoes & remind myself that because I did it once I have proof I can do it again—so I know it is possible. I also know it will have to be different because I am older (e.g., intense calorie burn thru exercise will play a smaller part and slowed…

Any chance you can get to a grocery store once you arrive to stock up on carrots, celery, apples etc for room frig? I am learning to drink at least 60 oz of water during the day & keep crunchy crudite handy all day. Also had an epiphany yesterday while dining out that I need to order only one course at restaurants, with…

Hey! I am in 1/2 thru 2019 after a health scare in April caused me to get back on MFP & focus on nutrition/diet. Have lost 7 lbs so far & looking for 20 more by end of 2019, with goal to maintain after that. As I’ve accumulated various repetitve stress injuries I’ve realized I need to shift how I manage stress & moods from…

Log food No alcohol More water No butter No chocolate or sweets Savor life! Breath more deeply more often & smile

Wow I have been AWOL all week, maybe more. Just feeling lucky to have maintained. Resting my big toes is hard—I have not been doing other forms of exercise to compensate, instead just sleeping too much and up to a full choc bar a day in one sitting regardless of lack of pleasure... Goals: Log food and post on message…

Yay so glad to find this thread since going out for drinks is a big part of my socializing. Turns out its trending to offer alcohol free cocktails and there are even new businesses cropping up in NYC (and maybe elsewhere) offering only alcohol-free mixed drinks. So I am in for the ling haul—sparkling water not wine &…

Ok so I self-diagnosed my big toe pain while waiting for podiatrist appt in July. Most probaby a repetitve injury sprain. Treatment is buddy taping, cushoined shoes and icing. Got tape & toe cushions yesterday. now need to continue workouts that involve upper body and abs w/o my beloved cardio of lower body. So that’s…
