  • Thank you all for taking the time to answer! This has been driving me mildly crazy for a few weeks now. I'll give your advice a shot.
  • Movement on the job is irrelevant to my choice. I enjoy the work I do, and it's a sit-down job. If I wasn't sitting to do it at home, I would be sitting to do it in a windowless office. I did that for years. Home is nicer! I can get movement I like easily enough when I'm not working at my desk.
  • My very strong advice would be to talk to your primary care doctor about if it's even advisable to try to lose weight while breastfeeding. It may be okay for some people, but it was on the list of "do not dos" for me. If it is okay for you, your doctor may have specific advice that's good for you and your baby. And if it…
  • There's a yellow box at the top of all of the forum pages about this. Basically: things are monumentally broken, they're working on the fix, and (as of 04/25) they don't know how long the fix will take. For me, I can log individual ingredients or pre-existing recipes on the website or the app (Android) and have it count…
  • I do a combination of things. Often, I use recipes from sites that provide nutritional information, including calorie counts. Sometimes I use the recipe builder, either to give me numbers for a recipe that didn't have them or to just log ingredients as I go when I'm making things up. It gives me something to use. Using the…
  • I do a mix of home and outdoor, largely dependent on light and the weather. I prefer outdoors because--according to my physical therapist-- there are things in my gait and how I carry myself that are better when I'm on regular terrain than on a treadmill. I also really enjoy being out in the world in the early morning,…
  • Some thoughts, as someone who gets up at 5 a.m. seven days a week unless there's sickness involved: For me, ability to get up early in the morning begins the night before. I'm not sure if your goal is to be up at 4:30 or 5-- whatever time you're aiming for, are you going to bed early enough for that to be reasonable? And…
  • For me, before work and before the rest of the family gets up is best. I have 1.5 hours between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. that I look at as "mine." It's too early in the day for my job to expect me to be working on things and nobody else is awake to distract or have needs for me to take care of. Later in the day-- anything can…
  • I was never good at athletic things in school and generally last in every race. I've been working with a running coach and am finding myself adding to my identity: I may still be working on my form and I may not be the fastest runner even now, but I'm starting to think of myself as "a runner." My running time is between…
