  • I think you probably misunderstand why people do this. Its not about lying to others, its a maladaptive coping strategy, if you dont log it, it didnt happen, therefore you can continue to over eat, you're protecting yourself from the harsh truth of what you eat, but equally therefore causing yourself more harm. Its not…
  • So to lose half a pound a week, you can eat at 1463, plus any realistic exercise calories? Sounds doable doesnt it?
  • I choose restaurant meals in the data base from chains I know and understand (so have an idea of their size and luxuriousness), or pick a ready meal from a good supermarket like waitrose or marks who dont skimp on things, then I double it. I try to overestimate where possible. I dont try to pick low calorie things either,…
  • Im the only one it seems that likes the pop up prediction for the next 5 weeks. It gives me hope!
  • Yes, I am now in my 11th week and twice in 2 days (yesterday and today ) was almost going to ignore something small. Yesterday it was 70 cals and today about 60. Its worried me that I mustnt let that actually happen. I can see that I could get sloppy if I allowed it.
  • This thread is frightening. A friend of mine was put on it by the GP about 15 years ago, we were out walking in the woods one day (not that isolated, this is Surrey we're talking about) and she suddenly had to sprint off into the trees. I thought she was exaggerating a bit to be honest. I was jealous that she had managed…
  • I dont know about other people but I suspect for me, the logging 'slips' could be the road to my failure. All week I have been massively down on my calorie intake (purposely) as I am trying for a higher weight loss although Im logged to lose 1lb a week. Because I know Ive done 'well', and have been doing more 'neat' (which…
  • But surely it takes less than half the time to do that mile? So you're exercising for half the time, therefore it should even out together? (Im just guessing I wouldnt have a clue never having run in my life)
  • I would imagine so, its quite high in sugar. I think I need to try and find out what size th Greggs slice is, its a bit vague.
  • Well I did as I said in my post, I have picked Greggs. I just wondered if anyone knew more accurately what it might be per 100g in terms of their own cooking personally. Its just a question.
  • I found that. I dont use 'homemade' entries, I also dont trust that someone might have put that in meaning bread and butter pudding, lots of people confuse the 2. Additionally there is no way that bread pudding has as few calories in it per 100g as that entry. (I think)
  • I thought of that but would have no idea of how much it would weigh per serving. I have found some recipes which give a 'serving size' but this is not relevant unless the 'serving size' in the recipe is 175g! Or even if I could find one which gave the calories per 100g?
  • Im going to try to make my own houmous this weekend and leave out the tahnini which adds a lot of calories as its essentially a nut butter. So just chickpeas, garlic, lemon and probably water. Perhaps a little bit of natural yoghurt. I think that will be quite low in cals.
  • I forgot to mention that Im learning to manage on smaller portions. So for example Ive managed to get wise to things like sandwich thins which means that I can have a 'burger' and I started off with 2 of these massive things but learned quickly that I only need one and only a small burger in it to be satisfying. So I have…
  • Today I have not eaten very well in that I havent organised for proper meals. I didnt have time for breakfast. Lunch was a massive jacket potato with cheese and tuna with coleslaw and butter, I calculated this to be about 1000 cals then with the milk I have in my tea during the day and a load of cherries Ive barely got…
  • The chipolatas are 2 for 95 cals (if its the Italia ones, I think there are others). I would want 4 though. I wouldnt bother with any oil in the dressing and then hopefully the salad would come in at about 120ish
  • I swell up like a balloon in the heat. And it doesnt even need to be that hot either, anything over about 24 and I get tummy aches and swelling, particularly around my ankles
  • I am doing a little bit of an experiment at the moment and trying to carry on for the next 7 weeks. I havent changed my numbers in the profile but am trying to come in at 1290 calories per day which should result in 2lbs loss per week. That sounds a lot but I am 262lbs at the moment (or 18st 10lbs as I prefer to say) and…
  • I find fat very satisfying, I think I have a fat tooth like some people have a sweet tooth. Im a bit cross at all the years I spent on 'low fat diets' particularly the likes of slimming world where I was eating mountains of pasta and rice (its freeeee) and just simply not learning a) what satisfied me and b) adjusting my…
  • There is no such thing as starvation mode, its a myth. How do you think people end up starving to death if it were true? And Im not talking about people who are self harming regard to eating either, think about old people who are neglected because they're not accessing food, they end up dying.
  • Who invented these 'cups' though? Ive never understood it, I dont think I have seen one in the shops here although presumably there must be. Years ago I used to think recipes I saw referencing them was referring to the amount you could get into a tea cup!
  • It keeps coming and going, its really annoying me. I am rather fanatical about smells, need to know what things smell like, like the house, how do I know if something is off in the house etc. I need to get back to the doctor. I have been given steroid sprays before but they're not working recently. Bit paranoid now about…
  • Im afraid I have always been mindful about eating. I love food, the flavours the textures, the smell, the sound, the look. Its all I focus on. Unfortunately it has not stopped me eating much much more than I need. At the moment I have lost my sense of taste and smell so am literally just eating for fuel. Its awful. I am…
  • Can you eat lentils? Do you like tarka dhal? High in protein and calories, not sure about carbs though.
  • Why would you increase your calories? (even if it was a proper stalling)
  • I realised today as yet again I squeezed out of my car in a tight parking space that there might be a time when I dont have to have the car door at the widest open it will go to manage to get out the car.
  • This is me actually as I love pasties but dont like pastry that much. I wish I could just buy pasty filling and eat it with a spoon. I particularly hate the crimped edge, which was never meant to be eaten anyway, just thrown to the knockers to keep the bad spirits at bay!
  • Oh for some reason I thought you had to complete the entry for it to calculate your weekly report of calories? Perhaps not then?
  • Thats not plain at all. Im one of few on here I feel that doesnt have any 'before' pictures. I dont allow people to take my picture
