Unexpected travel took me off my running goal for the month but I'm glad to be back eating right and running again I'm not looking forward to seeing what the scale has to say though lol.

Agreed to an extent, there are those that do enough cardio to offset whatever the hell they eat. My brother eats like a garbage truck, never lifts but swears by his steady dose of running and sexual activity to keep him looking like he lives in the gym.

Running in most cases is pretty meditative for me but it focuses a lot on how my body is doing not really where my mind is. I actually enjoy the fact that I can run without thinking of anything at all. On the flip side of that, I have recently found an app that goes through guided meditation and I use that to really sit…

Yeah I wanna know how this turns out.

YAAYYYY back at it! We got this!

Laura welcome! We definitely keep it positive and motivational around here, except when people are disrespecting the culinary advancements of man kind choosing pancakes over waffles. I look forward to motivating each other!

YES! FINALLY someone with some class!

I'm not even going to debate this Crepes suggestion. Motivational slumps are common, I enjoy running but there are time I just don't effin feel like it. To be honest, I've found that when I push myself to do it anyway those are my best runs. So my suggestion is to revisit why you started in the first place and push through…

I like this, determined to enjoy something you currently don't. I work out because I enjoy a good run and my hobbies make me fat.
-
I choose waffles, am a dog person, and hate other peoples children. So that's that.
-
I had my suspicions you were a bit off and choosing pancakes over waffles confirms it.
-
I save calories and or run extra so I can indulge in whiskey.

I'm pretty sure one of my mentors got this from a tv show but he used to tell me "your body is a tool, your mind is a tool and your soul is the architect. You are in charge of you and there is nothing you cant will your body and mind to accomplish." Its something I think about a lot when runs start to get difficult, my…

Smdh.....well I cant help you now, I tried.

That's why I'm running New Orleans for my first full marathon because its flat. It is time consuming but I love running when all things are lined up as they should.
-
Its all a part of the journey right, ups and downs, hating and loving the scale, you will recoup in no time! Yeah I have a 6 5k's, two 10k's, one certain half marathon and another I'm still getting the budget right for before the full. I'm currently a long way from home so running races isn't really an option until I'm…

Welcome back! I'm running a full marathon in new Orleans next year I'm super pumped for it! I feel like after running 26 miles I wont feel guilty about the amount I'm gonna eat and drink while I'm there lol.
-
Lol Brody, dang brother I told you not to do it!

Tonight was run two trying to maintain my pacing and it was almosy more difficult to slow down and maintain pace than it is to just run and deal with being winded. I think I just need more practice. 6/1-5.32 miles 6/3- 2.5 miles Goal 50 miles

Blue waffle. I lost a bet with a buddy and his payment was the ability to name his new favorite drink and his disgusting mind came up with blue waffle. If you dont know what it is dont look it up trust me just imagine its for blueberry maple waffles.

Scotch mostly from the Isle of Islay so your lagavulin and laphroaig but always a single malt. I got into mead after wine and I REALLY enjoy it lol. I make tons of it every year and have even gotten a hookup with a local bee keeper to trade mead for fresh raw honey. So far my favorite is a blueberry maple mead (I will…

Yes! Grains and grapes for everyone! I dabbled in making wine for a while it was a fun little project. I usually just gave it to my wine drinking friends but since I've moved I have like 70 bottles of wine just sitting around. I prefer my grains over grapes.

Whiskey is made from grains. Grains are an essential part of the food pyramid. Whiskey is fuel, sounds about right.

First run of the month was a little rough I was wayyy too excited and came out too fast. My first two miles were both a whopping minute plus under my desired pace so I burned myself out pretty quick but all in all it was a good run. 6/1-5.32 miles Goal: 50 miles

Came just short of my goal last month so going for another 50 miles this month!

I think its important to have a few methods in our metaphorical toolbox. Like those meditative moments are great but sometimes the only thing that works is that space between mile 2 and 4, laughing at something stupid, or enjoying some recreational cardio. As long as we can recognize these moods and tailor our response…
