I'd ensure that whatever enjoyment the money would give me would offer the same for those I care about. Also, I'd quickly establish how much is enough for my needs and those around me and give the rest away. I'd sooner be poor and happy, than rich and unhappy.

Depends on what you mean by affordable but I can recommend the Xiaomi Scale. I've got the older version without body composition but it does me fine. It's a WiFi device so syncs up nicely into MFP. Think I paid about thirty quid, but that was imported, more like £40 on Amazon.

I only use step tracking for motivational purposes. Unless you are using footpod or an hip based device then whatever results you get are going to have quite a variance between reality and what the device displays.
