I did around the beginning when I wasn't too serious about my weight loss, once I got motivation it pushed me to actually focus on it which helped me get back to losing. But everyone is different so what works for me may not work for you and vice versa.

Mm yeah, that original plan you used to lose 100+lbs was dangerous. 1200 should be the lowest you go to. 1lbs a week or 4lbs per month is a good steady pace, I suggest you weigh your food more often rather than teaspoons and cups.
