While I agree with most statements that weight loss is about calories, there have been mildly successful studies I've encountered that suggest ACV can help. This is because it keeps your insuline level lower, and without insuline you can't store fat. So it doesn't hurt, but don't expect anything magical. I usually drink a…

Very well put :)

First of: make sure there aren't any chips in your cupboards. Never go shopping hungry and only buy good stuff. And learn to have the "bad stuff" in it's less-tasty-but-still-satisfying form. For example, I love chocolate. God knows I do. There are so many treats I just guzzle down. But I leave them. Instead I take pure…

Good to hear! That must have been a very pleasing moment on the scales! Be gone you evil water weight =)

19 August: 66.1kg - 145,73lbs Definitely been here before weight wise, let's hope it will continue down and stop yoyo-ing up to 67kg again! I'm carefully hopeful: the weekend wasn't very healthy so having this result Monday morning does seems like a promising prospect. There are 3 fancy dinners planned this week though, so…

15 August: 65.5kg - 144,4lbs I'm not really logging this weight in the app because, since I have been on a fast for 47h now (I decided to do 48 instead of 36, 1 more hour to go!) the weight loss isn't "real". Will log the weight tomorrow. I did just go for my first supershort run again, after weeks of letting an injury…

12 August: 67.1kg - 147,93lbs Waw. I really screwed up guys. To gain 1.5kg in a week time.. that's almost impressive. Not surprised though, I really let it slide this weekend. In 3 days time I ate the kcal equivalent surplus of an extra day. Lots of wine every day, had a dinner party on Saturday, ate the leftovers from the…

9 August: 66.8kg - 147,27 // Usually I would be in an all-out panic seeing this, but I ate a lot of carbs yesterday evening (potatoes, very unusual for me) and I'm pretty sure this is all water weight because of the glycogen stores. Had 2 days below maintenance so no way this is actual weight :).

I think IF has many very good benefits (I do 16:8 mostly, with sometimes 18:6, and once in a while I do 36h), but I do agree that the fasting itself won't make you lose weight by itself if it isn't paired with a calorie deficit. However, for me, it does make me less hungry and makes it easier for me to stay within kcal…

12-8 and 13-7? You have 20h days?
-
My two cents: apart from the fact I agree you're probably not eating at a deficit, like another poster said, it could also be that your years of being overweight has made you insuline resistant. Maybe have a look at that? (Intermitted) fasting could really help with that.

6 August: The fast went really great, had little to no problems whatsoever. Yoghurt the next day tasted awesome tho! 7 August: 65.5kg - 144,4lbs // Had a very good day yesterday, under my calories and also way under carbs! (Which I find more important but more difficult to achieve). Yesterday evening I *really* wanted some…

6 August: 65,8kg (145,06lbs) Happy to see the next weight bracket appearing but not taking it seriously since I'm 32h into my fast. No doubt tomorrow, after eating, back up to the regular weight. The fast went great tho! Had a bit of a snacking impulse 17h in, and again at 20-21h but that was mostly because I was cooking…

Haven't weighed in yet because I haven't had access to my own scale these past few days. Weren't good days foodwise so a bit apprehensive too... :( 1 August: Bad day kcal wise, but fun day otherwise! :) Went to dinner and a club which lead to a 3000kcal day (mainly because of all the alcohol) 2 August: Super hungover but…

Haha I agree! I'm jealous every time I see it!

I like these threads a lot, however I think checking in every day is a bit overkill. Check in weekly for sure, and then maybe extra times when it was a really good or bad day is more interesting? SW: 66,6 kg (146,83lbs) GW: 65,x kg (for this month, I'll be happy to break my current plateau and see that 65 pop up). I'm…

31 July: final weigh in this month, ended at 66,3kg (146,17lbs). A bit surprised because yesterday was yet again above maintenance and lots of booze (I seem to be slipping a lot lately!). Maybe I'll see the backlash of that only tomorrow, but hey, that's Augustus' problem now!! =) Month goal reached: *yes*

29 July: 147,05lbs - 66,7kg Well... I got down again to 66,3kg at wednesday but then the weekend came around; friday was a huge binge with (way too) much alcohol and late night stops at the snackbar + saturday I went out to dinner and ate near maintenance so can't say the weight gain is surprise. At least it's still less…
-
I had a pretty bad weekend foodwise: friday was a party, must have consumed near 3000kcal so... yay me. Saturday went out to dinner, made okay choices but still ate around maintenance. Only today was a good day. And no running because of that damn injury :( I am really scared of having to step on the scale tomorrow...

22 July: 147,93lbs - 67.1kg So, let me recap this: every day last week has been at a 500+ kcal deficit. Except for Friday which was 300 above maintenance. I thought I'd compensate for that on Sunday by eating at a kcal deficit of 1200(!). And still I have gained weight compared to last Monday...Honest to god you guys, how…

Why are you demotivated? Because it's not giving you the desired results (fast enough)? Or some other reason?

21 July: 148,81lbs - 67.5kg //Okaaaay wow, not happy at all! I was 66,5kg (146,61lbs) on monday/tuesday and somehow managed to add a full kilo (2,2lbs) in less than a week! Every day was excellent calorie wise, except for Friday on which I ate on maintenance basically (if you add exercise calories). Admittedly, the food…

15 July - 147,27lbs - 66,8kg //Very happy with the progress after the standstill of last week. Had a very clean week, except for sunday (had a date, cooked WAY too much and too heavy + drinks) and really thought the scale would punish me for it but it was merciful :) So I pretty much reached my ultimate goal weight! I…

That would be great! Thank you

Welcome! I'm doing the same thing with the half marathon and equally far in! Looks so daunting at this point. Goodluck!

Okay, I did not now slight swear words would be redacted with "kitten"...

Okay, this may be TMI for most of you in which case I apologise in advance but I just need to vent for a bit! I also know this maybe oversharing and doesn't belong here so feel free to not read on. I know we have the new venting thread but I just want to tell you couple accountabili-buddies and not the whole group. So:…

I feel for you! Mind sharing the country/area you're in at the moment? Who knows someone here is from the same place!

@HoneyBadger155 hahahahah good one. Sad but true!
