I always eat a big meal or "bad" foods after workout, especially high carb or high protein. Like if I was going to eat a cupcake, doughnut, lasagna, mac and cheese, chips & a sandwich, a steak & potato.. I would eat things like this after workout. The body burns through foods quicker after a workout to replenish the spent…

I don't have bipolar, but I do share tips on quicker easy foods. If Taco Bell is a weak spot for you and you want to cut it. I found quick Mexican foods to eat at home, even frozen dinners can be less calories, cheaper, and more nutritional value. Like Amy's frozen cheese enchiladas (I would top these after heated with…

No more than 1200 calories with that much exercise is a recipe for disaster. I posted my story on here in this forum "Under 1200 for weight loss" about gaining weight eating under 1200 and daily exercise, which turned out to be heart failure (water retention--started out gaining just a few pounds, then a few more, then…

I work second shift now, and it is definitely screwing with my eating (worse than when I worked over nights). I find myself precutting veggies before work and pre marinating/seasoning a piece of meat. When hungry after work, I throw in my precut peppers, onions, mushrooms into skillet, sautee in olive oil for a few minutes…

I'm on a very low budget. I find deals at grocery outlets, discount stores like Aldi's/Trader Joe's. Dollar Tree has even been getting in some good affordable cheap foods. We eat a lot of eggs in my house, because I can deals on the 5 dozen boxes. Farmer's Market or local produce markets usually have cheap fruits and…

Same. I ate tacos while losing, homemade and added more veggies and fruits in, just for nutrition and taste like cilantro, onions, tomatoes, olives, avocados, I consider my tacos better than the Taco Bell ones I ate before. Same with pizza, I still ate pizza, but didn't order out. Made a homemade pizza, with thin lavash…

I would start out choosing lightly active and if not losing .5-2 lbs a week could always drop calories a little in the future. Goals on here are always change.

I might get some if it's affordable. I have bad reactions to most sweeteners other than cane sugar, honey, and stevia. I want to try monk fruit, but can't afford the one without erythritol... Which makes me sick.

In the US our milk is like 12 carbs a cup, lots of added sugar here. That's why I switched to half and half and heavy cream. I've always wondered if other countries' foods are healthier than US. Our foods are bad, manipulated by the corrupt FDA.

Most start out higher healthy fats (olive oil, butter, cheeses, creams, avocados) mainly because going low carb a lot of people lose appetite, and fats are an easy way to get calories in. After adjusted to low carbs, most start upping proteins while lowering fats. I always say, the macro goals are not set in stone, can…

I'm in the same boat. I've almost always had the motivation for 25 minute brisk walk at least. I started a new job that is kicking my ***. I need to start walking again, but am so exhausted... Just can't seem to do it.

Kids are great motivation and can be great exercise just trying to keep up with them. ;)

Without sticking to any type of diet, tracking and logging food here can be a great start just on it's own. It can be an eye opener. I've been a widow for about 10 years. I think I knew even from the beginning, I would eventually date again and didn't want to let myself go. Small changes and tracking can get you going in…

I scroll through the success stories and the before and afters, and think, "If they can do it, so can I." It helps me find the courage to go for it!

Sometimes sitting in a chair while watching tv, I exercise with hand weights (1 lb canned goods) doing high rep arm exercises, or I ride an imaginary bike in the air or leg lifts using thigh and butt muscles (no impact on feet, ankles, or knees).

Humans can be so strange. We have terrible habits, and we don't change those habits until we hit rock bottom or get scared enough to change. It's (almost) never too late to reverse health and medical issues. A lot of health issues can be reversed through diet. Losing weight or just changing eating habits to become healthy…

I don't really have motivation, but I have commitment. Logging and tracking foods becomes routine and habit. It gets easier the longer you do it. I find inspiration through others' successes. I look through the before and afters and think, "If they can do it, so can I."

I slowed it down, because the weight-loss has slowed. I need to take pictures... It's been a while. I've thought about buying a scale. Just seeing everyone's success, makes me want to weigh. ;)
-
@LyndaBSS Started at Daily pictures with weekly measurements, then shifted to weekly pictures every two weeks measurements, now shifting to monthly for both. Upped calories, and weightloss is slowing.

With already being a healthy weight, It's slow! Can always change things up a little and see if something helps. Like add in eating a high carb food after a workout. If already doing that, change to a high protein food after a workout. If you walk or jog for exercise, add in a short fast sprint or two in the middle of walk…

When it says "substance," I would assume it means added. The wording "of any form" I would take as added: sugar, honey, agave, coconut sugar, etc. It probably had the same question about alcohol (any form: wine, whiskey, beer, vodka, etc) and tobacco (cigarette, chew, dip, vape, etc). I think it's being over-thought.

Sounds like a practical goal! Weightloss with a long term plan and goal and a calorie limit that's healthy and doable, I believe is key!

When forced at a doctor's office, lol. I become too obsessed and discouraged by fluctuations and that number on a scale. I keep tabs on my pants size, measurements, pictures, and how I feel. Recently cut down taking measurements and pictures to once a month.

Welcome to MFP, Sounds like you're off to a good start!

It was just a discussion, like any other marital decision.... Hours and days of weighing out pros and cons.

Love lemon and chicken!! I make a lemon and caper chicken dish... Good combo!

Sounds really good!!!

Agree, Zucchini is delicious in pan too!!

Two cans of mushroom soup (I prefer Amy's Mushroom Bisque) can use any cream of mushroom soup. A giant London broil, or any cheap beef that takes a while to get tender. Have also used boneless chicken. Two more cans of mushroom soup on top. Salt and pepper (can add sliced onions) Cook on low for 8 hrs. Makes a lot. Can top…

Keep with the calorie deficit, give weight time to come off. Don't stress, stress can hinder weight-loss. I also suggest progress pics and/or taking measurements, don't rely solely on scale. I find scales can be discouraging, fluctuating while measurements and pics show definite loss and slimming.
