  • My carbs have varied over the last 3 months. I started at 50 net carbs (but didn't care what source they came from). That only lasted a few days, then dropped to 25 or under net carbs. Naturally was coming in around 5-11 net carbs daily. Second month, I tried to add fruit in daily (peaches, plums, nectarines, oranges,…
  • My problem with filet mignon, is finding it sold in stores not wrapped in bacon. I don't eat pork, but love filet mignon. It's not sold in my grocery stores without bacon. I can't find it anywhere locally without it. And I don't like online/catalogue frozen meats.
  • Finding some discomforting NSVs, but I'll take them. When doing floor exercises or sitting in hard chair, I can feel my bones and muscles in contact with hard surfaces... It's not a comfortable feeling, but I am sure I will get used to it again, forgot what it feels like to have less fat for cushioning On the positive…
  • @seltzermint555 Wanted to let you know, the disagree was not mine. I'm 45 and my daughter and I have shared clothes and outfits since she was in high school (20s now) Some from juniors stores, some from the Limited, Macy's, hmm Store, Hot Topic, etc. When I am in my ideal size, my daughter and I love it, because we shop…
  • Those do look good!! I should get more adventurous with desserts. So, far I've only tried a couple of ice cream recipes vanilla and coconut ice cream and chocolate/avocado ice cream. Made keto raw cookie dough, turned out okay. Tried making cheesecake (it was terrible-inedible)!
  • Agree with all the "Rare" comments. I prefer steak rare. Sometimes I'll take still semi-frozen thin cut strip steaks, throw in heated oil in skillet for a minute each side.. Perfectly rare, seared on outside, cold red rare center. People often get grossed out by my burgers, because of how raw they are. Taste good to me!
  • @JenniferM123 That's great on the dining out!!! Displaying willpower is not only a NSV, but shows inner strength! Unfortunately, I fail miserably when out of the house usually. Starbucks Americano with white mocha and toffee nut syrups is my downfall when out, and I have logged some pretty shameful days myself. But always…
  • Thanks, I wish I had started eating low carb a couple of years ago.
  • Thanks!!! Feels great...I keep saying I feel 23 @ 45!!

  • Played with fat head crust a bit. I found if I substitute the cream cheese with butter and parmesan (2 tbls of each heated together stove top). Beat whole egg, add mozzarella cold, then add in butter and parmesan mix, then stir in almond flour (kept adding more mozzarella until I got dough consistency that I could work…
  • Update, Next time I make will add an avocado in, the avocado gives it better creamier texture and doesn't affect the taste. :)
  • @sugarismyweakness I cook most of meals for just me. I make one steak or a couple of pieces of chicken with some veggies just for me. Searing steak or chicken only takes a few minutes (my go to food). I throw veggies in with my meat, same skillet, will sometimes add an egg or two and scramble or omelet. Or fry egg in left…
  • Ribeye, Porterhouse, brisket, filet mignon. I like to crock pot London broil or chuck roast in beef broth over night. Or over night crock pot London broil or any large cut of cheap steak with 4 cans of Amy's Mushroom Bisque soup. (Sometimes I add in sliced onions to either dish).
  • Update hit goal a few days ago, when I could fit back into all of my clothes comfortably and saw clavicle bone in the mirror!! Feeling 23 @ 45!
  • Update, hit goal a few days ago, when could get back into all my clothes comfortably!!
  • Tonight I'm going to try making fried chicken, using egg and organic unsweetened coconut flakes to bread with, fried in shallow olive oil and coconut oil mix. We'll see how it turns out.... Fingers crossed.
  • I am going to watch on my next day off. I'm too tired to put thought into anything on work days!
  • I'm going to try them too, if the ones available in my store are non GMO tofu! They should be non GMO project verified, the ones pictured above are. Here's hoping! ;)
  • Made steak Alfredo last night --- seared steak (sometimes I do chicken thighs instead) in olive oil, put steak on plate and set aside to rest, let skillet cool for a few, to cooled skillet added a couple of tbsps butter, about 1/4 cup half and half/or heavy cream, added 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (I add more if I want it…
  • @Hotelsma ... Thanks. Pizza is net carbs on a fully loaded pizza I made (onions, peppers, mushrooms, turkey sausage, pizza sauce, black olives, Mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Keto pizza (olives and turkey sausage). Shirataki noodles stir fry with steak, broccoli, zucchini, cabbage, mung bean sprouts, cilantro, onions, peppers, fresh basil (peanut Thai sauce) Fat bombs, they taste better than they look.
  • I tried to incorporate fruits in during my second month, peaches, pears, nectarines, plums, oranges, etc... Was still coming in around 30-45 net carbs daily. I didn't like the way I started to feel, so I cut the fruit out, went back to oils, meats, and veggies. And to the haters and disagreers: I started keto on June 10,…
  • I'll have to look it up on my day off. I don't think majority realize how hormones play a part in weight gain/loss, and are responsible for things like a lot of autoimmune disorders, etc. People hear the word hormones and think testosterone or estrogen... Not thinking of the all the glands and the hormones produced in…
  • Mine were translucent, I didn't know there were different kinds, but I avoid tofu. I think when I overcooked them, it must have broken then down some... They weren't textured too differently than other Asian noodles I've used in same recipe, like udon or mai fun noodles... Very slight chew to them. @kiddycat73 It warned on…
  • I'd forgotten some of the science behind some of the foods I won't touch...(took physiology, nutrition, human anatomy, and organic chemistry years ago, but apparently, forgot a lot of it). The documentary reminded me of a lot I'd forgotten. I've tried to eat whole foods (as much non GMO, organic as I can) for a long time.…
  • That's why I originally clicked on this thread, was to suggest melatonin. But after reading through her stats, her body is under stress from not intaking enough calories for energy. Chances are it's over producing cortisol and adrenaline from the stress it's under, which is keeping her wired. Eating too low can be…
  • If she is consuming 1200 a day... Wouldn't that mean there is zero activity in her mfp equation... I thought the only way to get 1200 daily limit is to put max loss weekly and sedentary activity level, meaning she is not eating for her activity level (6 miles daily), much less, eating appropriate calories for her height…
  • Wow, if I wanted a cowardly disagree instead actual replies, conversations, and comments, I'd post in general forums. This group has changed a lot in the last month. Don't know what happened, but seeing increase of insults, arguments, disagrees, etc. Not a fun, informative, motivational environment any longer.
  • That is awesome progress!! Keto is amazing and produces amazing results!
