  • I suggest joining the groups the Low Carber Daily Forum group and The Keto group. Active discussions, tips, and recipes.
  • There is a keto group on here and The Low Carber Daily Forum group. Both are active groups. Macros are a preference. I personally keep mine at around 5-10% carbs, 15-25% proteins, and 65-75% fats.
  • If eating low carb, I suggest joining the groups on here. The Low Carber Daily Forum group and The Keto group. There is also a paleo group, but it wasn't very active.
  • If doing keto diet mixed with fastings, I suggest joining the groups on here. The Low Carber Daily Forum group and The Keto group.
  • Thanks All. I put that title, because I know when I was suffering mentally from anorexia, it's the kind of title I would have clicked on. ;)
  • I was military USAF...I wouldn't say the coffee in the mess halls represents what is sold in coffee stores... Yes you can find "Battery acid" coffee, like instant and cheap coffees sold in stores, also in diners and chains, but can also find fair trade organic coffee that is good. Just because the FDA doesn't give a ****…
  • Smart to wait!! Starting before payday is rough. I started just before payday... Was living on eggs and cheese with very little produce or meat; Good luck, welcome.
  • @scottyaus2732 Have you ever bought coffee or ordered coffee in America? All of our coffee (I would estimate over 90 percent) in America is imported. From Africa, South America, Australia, Europe, or Asia. Which none are horse piss. I have never had American coffee, and I've lived here 45 years, been an avid coffee drinker…
  • I have read when trying to build/gain muscle, a lot shoot for at least 1 gram of protein for every kilogram of of weight. So at 202 lbs, that would be somewhere around 92 grams of protein daily. I always remind people that nothing is set in stone on MFP. Can always start with one goal and adjust it later if not getting…
  • Without logging and knowing exactly how many calories your daily goal is, and how many calories you're consuming, there is no diet or food advice anyone can give accurately. If you started cutting calories and changing macros without tracking, there could be several reasons for feeling like crap. You need to track and log.…
  • If trying Keto I recommend the groups The Low Carber Daily Forum and The Keto group. Don't waste money on expensive "keto" marketed products, none are needed. Electrolytes are very important starting Keto. We take a 250 mg magnesium supplement, cook with white sea salt, and very lightly sprinkle potassium salt substitute…
  • I eat high fat diet just to get calories in, (a lot of sensitivities to a lot of foods). I prefer to add olive oil to my foods, sometimes cheeses, creams, butters or coconut oil. Olives and nuts also have higher fat content.
  • I'm open for adds to ketoers. I prefer friends with open diary to friends. I am pretty active on feed, and I have open diary to friends. Welcome back to keto.
  • The reasons beans and legumes and some oils are on the anti keto list, even though these foods are zero to low carb, centers around foods known to cause inflammation. Keto was originally designed for medical issues. So avoiding foods that cause inflammation is needed for some health issues. Yes, these foods generally fit…
  • I had insane energy boost. My fiance said I looked like the Tasmanian Devil running through the house. It finally tapered off.
  • I have been trying to up my proteins, but because most meats have fat content. And fat is 9 calories per gram, where protein is only 4 calories per gram. I still come up higher fat percentages. Also finding upping my proteins, I'm hungrier more and started having intense cravings for sweets (I added fruits in to try to…
  • The only % I ever see on my app are macros (proteins, fats, carbs), daily nutrients (daily recommended values), and percentages from how many calories each meal represents. I don't know if it's one of these you're seeing.
  • I tried WW once, I don't think I lasted a month. I felt like I was starving on WW, and after 2 weeks of feeling starved and only dropping .8 (point eight) pounds, I quit. The free point foods was not a big list back then (chicken and eggs had points). I hopped on MFP, set a very practical calorie goal (not too low). I…
  • I pre chop veggies, put into individual bags or containers. Pre cook extra meat. Then pull out individual servings to reheat or prepare meal quickly. Like pre cook taco seasoned meat, chop/dice a lot of veggies. Make taco salad one night, meat over greens, add toppings of chopped/diced veggies, and tomatoes, avocado,…
  • Sorry so long! I have to avoid trigger foods. I went from anorexia eating disorder, combined with excessive exercising disorder, both obsessive disorders to compulsive over-eating with binging (all were years ago). For some reason, certain types of foods triggered this for me. A lot of my binges started with buying one box…
  • All of above helpful! I also recommend joining the group Low Carber Daily Forum group. A lot of people in the group trying to get a health issue under control. Or have succeeded at getting health issues in check. The Keto group also has many members eating low carb for various medical conditions. Not everyone in the Keto…
  • Unsweetened peanut butter or any nut butters are keto friendly. Favorite treat in my house: I make frozen chocolate peanut bombs. Equal parts coconut oil and peanut butter (usually 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup --depending on how many I want to make). 1-2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, stevia-monk fruit--swerve (whichever keto…
  • I sent friends request. I love your sense of humor. I'm pretty sarcastic and love to laugh (even at myself); I use humor to cope with life. It's laugh or cry, I chose laugh!
  • Did you try to search title or keywords in mfp search engine. I don't read any of the blogs, so not too familiar with those options. If using browser and not app could go through internet history.
  • Amazing results!! I eat keto due to severe carb sensitivities. But I have to admit, if I didn't have sensitivities, I preferred my clean eating and everything in moderation. I can't complain, I enjoy the foods I eat now. I just wish a bite of bread, potatoes, or cake didn't make me blow up in pain.
  • If starting a new exercise program...I suggest starting slow. I start at like 20-25 minute walks every other day (3-4 times a week) as my body gets used to that, I increase to 30 minutes. Body adjusts, I add in another day. I do the same with strength, I start at 10-15 minutes of light hand weights, or light slow…
  • My fiance said he felt trapped in an 80 year old body. Was always saying he felt 80. Me, I'm 45, and mentally feel 18. I can't figure out why my body doesn't get that memo, lol.
  • I recommend joining The Keto group and The Low Carber Daily Forum group. Lots of tips, recipes, and active discussions. I am finding new ways not to feel deprived eating keto. (Eating keto due to disease causing extreme and painful sensitivities to some carbs and sweeteners). I eat fruit and veggies daily, still coming in…
  • Sent private message. My fiance dealt with all over body fibromyalgia, which had affected his joints to the point of immobility. When I met him he used a cane to walk and stand. Grunted in pain with every little movement. He's lost around 80 lbs since we started dating. Went from over 250 down to under 180. He's active…
