I recommend The Keto group and The Low Carber Daily Forum group. Both have active discussions and recipes and tips. Good luck!

100 lbs is amazing, congrats. I change up my routines to get out of stalls. Change workout routine slightly, like adding in a couple of short burst of more intensity (like if walking, add in a couple of short fast sprints). Or change my meals up, from light breakfast and heavy dinner to heavy breakfast, lighter dinner.…

I'm with you, I avoid the sun like the plague. I take a lower dose, I think 1000IU-3000IU, sublingual tablets daily. I buy different brands, whatever is on sale at the natural markets.

Welcome back.... The wagons still here, lol. Istanbul, that's an interesting destination. I really wish I could travel! But expired passport and lack of funds stand in the way of me and my travel bucket list!

I haven't thought about it. I put a tsp of (Saigon) cinnamon in some of my keto desserts. I haven't had any issues, no bloat, pain, or keto hangover from it.
-
I have not heard of these, what is the main ingredient? I've eaten cheese crisps, they get old quick. I tried a BBQ protein chip made of organic non-gmo tapioca and soy. They about killed me with bloat and stomach pain. Always looking for new things to snack on.

@lorrpb That's a good point, would always accept lost friends back if they came back. I don't really get my feelings hurt from friends list or messaging (general forums are another story). I do think it's a little sad seeing so many give up. The inactives, you never know if they continue in real life trying to lose with a…

@Mccmack That's my favorite part of my friends list is seeing people succeed and transform. Already seen amazing transformations, weightloss and the self confidence that comes with it. Talking people into not giving up when they're ready to throw in the towel and quit, suggesting a few tips, and then seeing them thrive is…

I have to update mine. Mine does not automatically change. It always gives a warning that it will change calories, but it never does. So, I had to manually go into profile and goals to change activity setting and weekly loss goal. My app seems very glitchy this time round.
-
That sounds right. I don't have anything synced up with MFP, so I rely on the goal settings in app. Someday, I might embrace technology, ;)
-
I've lost using MFP a few times over years (always gain with injuries-and jump back on, lose and maintain). I never knew what a macro was. From my personal experience and opinion, macros usually make no difference in my weight-loss. This time around... Had to research macros due to a carb sensitivity. But still believe…

Thanks for replies! It's interesting to get others' perspectives on the social aspect. I've been on and off since the app came out. Always a new profile, user name, etc. I honestly never in all the years realized there's a community and feed. At one point I synced contacts (but it was just one sister). I would click diary,…

@cbihatt Me neither. I don't have any social media accounts either. This is as close to socializing online as I get. I opened a Facebook just to try and get references for a job the other day, but it will be deactivated tomorrow, lol. I'm not very social in real life. I choose not to be. In the past, friends always came…

Women can fluctuate as much as 10-15 lbs a day. Depending on many factors. And yes you can gain water weight without drinking water. If your body retains sodium, female hormones, even allergies can cause slight swelling while sleeping. There are many different reasons someone could fluctuate before eating or drinking.…

@aliciacarson711 I second the groups, The Keto group and The Low Carber Daily Forum group are the best places for foods, tips, advice, recipes. Traditional keto restrictions to avoid: breads, starches, starchy veggies, starchy fruits, grains, legumes, beans, vegetable oils (canola, safflower, corn, peanut, seed oils),…

@Duck_Puddle This sounds a lot like my friends list, I got going now!! Just day to day chat, with some health discussions. I did cut some attention needy people too, always seem to be after ego strokes or likes. @boldknee I'm not vegetarian anymore, but still eat a lot of vegetarian foods and dishes. Open for adds from…

I would never go that low, unless I was pretty much immobile. Just my personal preference. I think of weightloss in terms of long term. I know if I cut too low, I wouldn't be able to keep it up long term. I was dropping too fast at 1410, so I upped. Now I'm losing at a more normal rate. .5-1lb a week. Good luck, starting…

Most eating low carb are under 100 grams of carbs daily. Keto is defined by under 50 grams of net carbs daily. With other restrictions: no grains, legumes, beans, vegetable oils, breads, starchy fruits or starchy vegetables. Paleo is more eating whole foods, minimal processing with some restrictions: no grains, legumes, or…

I've lost around 30-40 and only have about 20 more lbs to lose until my goal weight. I recently changed goals to lose .5 per week and upped my calories for the final stretch. I know and am prepared mentally for the last 20 to take time and to be patient. Awesome progress so far!! We can lose those last few!!!

I'm 5'8" 45 years old. Started at around 230 lbs eating 1410 calories (give or take 100). Current weight around 185, upped calories to 1689 (give or take 100), still losing. Goal weight is around 165.

If you lost the first week, I agree with above comment, give it more time. Weightloss is a slow progress. With a lot of fluctuations on scale. And I see a lot of people in here who want to lose their weight right now, and don't consider future loss, future plateaus or future maintenance. The problem with lowering so…

With only a few pounds to lose, I would set for .5 loss a week, set at slightly active, and try to eat back some of my exercise calories (agree with above, eating back all exercise calories can seem impossible) I try to eat back some if I log exercise, or eat a few extra calories if I don't log exercise. With only a few…

@seltzermint555 I don't really PM with males on here either. That got old the first couple of weeks on here. I'm also in a good relationship and do not need attention from men online. I get tired of the flirty messages!

The replies kind of hit the nail on the head... I guess, I don't find it discouraging in my own weight-loss/health journey. I find it discouraging to try to make new people connections with the plaguing thought, "What's the point, majority won't be active on here within a month." Kind of sad, but I'm finding to be the…

@Annie_01 I understand the feed annoyance! This is part of the reason I just cut my list down! I'm already getting close to the point of not wanting to accept anymore friends request. I mostly kept people who get in enough calories and have open diaries. With a history of eating disorders, I can't watch people starve…

Agree with BarbaraHelen, Calories are key. I just want to add, set a practical calorie goal. Start slow. Once you lose a few, usually energy levels naturally rise, then you might find yourself wanting to add in workouts, like 30 minutes of cardio a few times a week and wanting to move more or strengthen. Small changes that…

I've been eating 16:8 for 3 months, since I started trying to drop a few. I just don't wake hungry, I usually eat first meal between 1pm-4pm. But if I wake at 7am hungry, I eat. I don't deal well with feeling hungry or deprived. I get very irritable, lol, my family compares me to the Snickers commercials.

I battled with this one too. My new job is 18,000-30,000 fast paced steps in one shift. I decided to change my lifestyle activity setting, which upped my daily calorie goal from around 1400 to around 1700. A couple of times, with a really rough shift, I add steps into exercise and eat more calories. Either way would work,…

@LyndaBSS I believe you and I started at the same time.
