  • The last time I attempted dating, I was surprised how common this was; in one case a woman was still sharing a bed with her “ex” hushand. Nope. 🚩
  • Heh, exactly - 15k, and an extra bit in the small print about how 'ripped' may or may not be short for 'ripped off.' :D @robertw486 - by the way, is your username tech related? I used to use 486 in some of my online names, but it turns out somebody else online was using it and let's just say I didn't want people confusing…
  • Easily accesible AI that anybody can use has caused an uptick in these before and after ads, the man in the picture below never existed - I generated him in about 10 seconds with a prompt on Grok. The text I pulled out of thin air is totally true, honest.
  • I am ALL IN FAVOUR of getting dates at the gym. They're surely much more healthy than the chocolate bars and bags of Doritos currently in the vending machine.
  • You certainly can yes, riding burns calories and engages certain muscle groups. Obviously the calorie burn will vary a bit depending on the intensity of your ride. You can find it on thr MFP app under exercise - search for “horseback riding”
  • Hey man, congratulations! You can hold your head high - finish line or not, you really fought for it and lot of people would have tapped out way before 39km. You have the right attitude and a clear goal now, I know you'll go back to finish the job next time.
  • Yeah, I feel this needs context - which medicine in particular are we debating? I will say that it's true that certain drugs are too readily available and are treated as a panacea while the side effects are glossed over; antidepressants for example are very pervasive, and while they're essential for many, healtcare…

  • Listen. Can you hear it? Does it speak? Will I feel it? Will it hurt? Am I near it?

  • Sorry about your husband, he sounds strong to have made it through this ordeal; you both do. May he continue to beat this thing 🙏 Welcome back!
  • Can always tell when it’s another Brit because we’re the only ones who use stone around here. 13 is basically my ideal weight, possibly on the lighter side but I’m a bit taller. I was 12.5 when I was in my mid 20s for a while, bit light for me.
  • Excuse my ignorance, are you talking 1.925 million?

  • Happy birthday, enjoy! 🎂🍷
  • I’m 40 in less than 90 days. I was worried about it but I’ve come to this weird acceptance that actually, I’m just gonna tell more dad jokes; lay the sarcasm on a bit thicker. This might actually be fun.
  • Hmm, I also use the iOS version of MyFitnessPal and haven’t seen that, but I would assume - as you do, it means you have two unread notifications. If you go back to the main page of the MFP app, tap on the ‘dashboard’ icon - you should see a bell icon near the top, it may also have the 2 above it, press it to reveal the…
  • @acpgee - If you don't mind me asking, do you cook professionally? Everything you post looks incredibly well presented!
  • Thanks M, and you’re right - I’m not lucky enough for there not have been at least one complication. Hope you’re well!
  • Update: Didn't die. Few unforseen things - had to re-arrange all the wiring behind the outlet because the new one had terminals in different places to the old one, also the live, earth and neutral wires used a different colour code because the building is so old. Also, probably should have done this during the day but an…
  • Replacement wall outlet like the one below. Exciting eh? One of the sockets at my place is arcing, buzzing and has started blowing fuses of things connected to it. Fairly sure it's the outlet and not the wiring as the socket next to it shares the connectors and is working fine. Off to power off the ring main in my building…
  • I'm in the UK and I largely agree. I think it goes to show that no guideline can be taken absolutely, although I would say that it does seem rather outdated and generic advice - but it's impossible to give a one-size-fits-all number given the variation in shapes, sizes and lifestyles. The guideline actually does come…
  • Prawns pan fried in fish sauce with garlic, onion, ginger, peppers, herbs, spices on a bed of linguine.
  • I’m a long term GERD sufferer. Aside from avoiding trigger foods, the key for me is not eating too close to bed time; no snacks or meals within 5 hours of bed if possible - or I’ll be woken up in the night with reflux. I also find being in shape really helps, if I find myself getting symptoms frequently it’s often a…
  • Oh I do use a scale 😁 I just thought a handful sounded better than writing “30 grams of organic peanuts” - they certainly are a generous portion of morning calories! Thanks for the yoghurt tips, didn’t think of using oats with them - that could definitely work.
  • Indeed! I did go through a period of doing this, it’s such a good source of protein and inexpensive. I probably just need to get creative and make it into a breakfast smoothie.
  • Oats made with skimmed milk and a sprinkling of raisins, then a handful of organic peanuts and a banana. Must start mixing protein powder in with the oats. I used to have Greek yoghurt, but I’ve quit sugar apart from fruit (again) and eating the plain one after waking up feels like some kind of divine punishment. 😬
