Day 5 done, and it’s starting to feel easier! I’m surprised to feel a difference so soon. No aches and pains this morning either 😊

Something is always better than nothing! I didn’t ache much when I woke up this morning, so I had a good run. 4 miles in the pouring rain, burned plenty of calories. Back to the shred tomorrow, I’m glad my shoulders have had a chance to recover.

Emma, sorry to hear about your daughter. Crohn’s is so painful during a flare up, I sympathise. I realise that I’ve been lucky, my Crohn’s is not as severe as some. I wouldn’t be able to eat a lot of raw vegetables, but I’m fine if they’re cooked. Every so often I decide to have a salad, then remember why I don’t usually…

How are you feeling today? I’ve just finished my third workout. My shoulders and hips ached when I woke up, but I find an early morning workout helps me to loosen up. Tomorrow is a running day so I won’t be doing the dvd as well, but I’ll still check in here and I’ll be back at it on Saturday!

Well in my case I’ll be increasing my running for the half marathon I’m doing next spring 😊 The idea is that it’s a kick-start for people who aren’t in a routine of regular exercise. A month is long enough to form a new habit, and long enough to feel that exercise really does make a difference to your body and mind.…

It’s a great feeling when they sleep in (or even sleep for a whole night!)! My nine year old was sleeping really well by the time he was 2 and a half, but these two just can’t seem to get the idea!
-
Not at all, I only started yesterday. Jump right in!
-
I have twin 3 year olds, I don’t get to stay in bed past 6am! Good luck with day 3 😊
-
Really noticeable difference, great work!

Japanese Ju-jitsu here. I don’t compete, but I’ve been teaching for a long time. I have a colleague who also trains in Brazilian Ju-jitsu (totally different to Japanese), so I’ve learned a bit, but still very much a beginner in that.
-
Wow, that’s an amazing difference! Well done!

I was vegetarian for 28 years and I’m now vegan. I’ve added you as a friend so you can look at my diary if you like. I’m happy to answer questions and share recipes. I don’t actually measure my iron intake, but my blood levels have always been fine, except when I had a flare up of Crohn’s disease a few years ago. I don’t…

Day 2 done and feeling great 😁 How’s everyone else doing today?
-
Great work, well done!

Just finished my first workout. I think level one is just about right for me at the moment. Challenging, but not so painful I’ll be unable to do it tomorrow! I won’t be able to weigh in for a while because my scales have broken! Thought it was just the battery but I got a new one and the scales still say “error”! It’ll…

Oh, and I’m 159lb at the moment. Goal weight around 147 (I’m 5ft 8in).

I’d forgotten that I have this dvd. I’ve just found it so I can start tomorrow. I’ll be adapting some of the abs exercises because I’m doing rehab work on damaged muscles, but I can do the rest.
-
I use the food diary every day and it’s open for my friends to view. It will look a little different to most people’s because I’m vegan, but feel free to add me if you’re wondering “what on earth do vegans eat?!” 😁

Never thought of making mocha porridge, that sounds good!

Hi, I’m in the U.K. too, I’ve added you as a friend 🙂 I’ve found recording all my food and exercise really helpful. I’ve lost a stone so far, which surprised me since I’ve never managed to stick to any kind of diet before now!

Could you eat other types of yoghurt, like soya or coconut? Is there a reason you can’t just eat more snacks if you’re hungry? Surely if you need to gain weight you shouldn’t have strict limits on the amount you’re allowed?
-
Yes! I felt exactly the same, I couldn’t believe I lost weight while still eating chocolate and ice cream! Turns out I just needed to get my portion sizes under control, which mfp has really helped with.

Large homemade pancake with blueberries and raspberries, a banana and lots of strong black coffee.

I felt like this when I had low iron levels. It’s worth having a blood test, iron deficiency is quickly and easily fixed with supplements.

I’m trying to save around 200 calories every day so I can eat something sweet in the evening. I usually find that a bar of chocolate or a scoop of ice cream is enough to get rid of the cravings so I’m not as likely to binge. I guess it depends what sort of food you binge on. For me it’s nearly always something sugary,…

That’s 2 months of working on the exercises btw, not 2 months after giving birth! My “babies” are actually 3 years old.
Is that diastasis recti? Can you share some of the exercises helping with that/resources that you like?
Yes it’s diastasis recti. I have a dvd called Postnatal Rescue by Erin O’Brien, and a book called Get Your Body Back by Wendy Powell. Wendy has a 12 week course called Mutu System, which I can’t afford,…

Great muscle definition! Well done for getting to a point where you can feed your body properly.
-
Have you ever been pregnant? My ab muscles were damaged during pregnancy and I still have a gap between them. I can’t do most of the exercises you mentioned because the muscles can’t hold in everything behind them and I get weird bulging. I’m doing some rehab exercises which have helped, but it’s not back to normal yet.

I feel incredibly hungry without carbs. Using mfp is the only thing that has ever worked for me to lose weight, and I’m pretty sure it’s because I can have all the foods that I love, but in more sensible portions than I was eating before.
