  • I used to take Meloxicam and now take Celebrex, but only occasionally. I also use Voltaren gel (over the counter now in US) sometimes. I take turmeric daily, and was surprised how well a turmeric ginger carrot & mango smoothie can help on a really rough morning. (I made it just cause it sounded good and noticed less pain…
  • Ha. I thought you had a baby!
  • I did a full elimination diet once to try to figure out my worse GERD triggers. I first ate just brown rice and then added one food at a time every 3-5 days. Not something I would recommend unless you have no other option. It works, but severely limited food gets old fast.
  • What about 88 Acres? MADE IN OUR DEDICATED BAKERY FREE OF PEANUTS, TREE NUTS, GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGGS, SOY & SESAME.
  • Mine isn't syncing properly with Fitbit either. Fitbit is getting my food info, but MFP isn't getting my steps. The issue has existed for the last couple days, although at some point it did update my steps for yesterday. This type of problem occurs occasionally. My best advice is to just be patient and wait it out.…
  • Do you see steps listed in your diary on MFP? Here is an example showing the bottom of my diary (Android app, Fitbit): Here's another example when I didn't get enough steps to earn any exercise calories (day after second Covid vaccine): What do you see on your diary? That might help you figure out if it's a link issue or…
  • As cmriverside said, if possible, avoid any medication that includes aspirin, ibuprofen, etc beforehand. I would recommend treating it afterwards as if you were sick, since your immune system is doing the same kind of work it does when ill and you want to help it do a good job. Take it easy, drink plenty of fluids, eat…
  • I checked my records and I was up 1.8 lbs after first Pfizer jab, but down .6 lbs after second. Probably not related to the vaccine since both are within my normal weight fluctuations. I was a little sick after the first, especially a headache. Super tired after the second, but okay otherwise. Arm hurt both times. Nothing…
  • And Vitamin D levels. Mine was crazy low and caused both joint and muscle pain. I was getting regular sunshine at the time (southern US, light skin, time outdoors most days, poor sunscreen usage). I have lost weight both in peri-menopause (quite a lot of weight) and in menopause (~15 lbs gained over the 10 years in-between…
  • You might like our group "New Recipe Challenge". All ways of eating are welcome, but several of us regularly eat vegetarian and vegan meals. We share recipes and talk about food. The basic concept is to try at least one new recipe weekly, but we are very laid back about it. I'll send you an invite, but feel free to ignore…
  • While this sounds good to me, I think I learned my lesson with the pretzel chocolate Pop tarts. After eating one of those, I ended up throwing away the rest of the box.
  • And thanks for the other answers. I do get the concept of maintenance. I hit the top end of my goal weight in early 2020. But, mostly due to GERD (which eliminates many high calorie foods and limits quantity and eating hours), I have struggled with getting enough calories in to stabilize. I really hope that eventually my…
  • Thanks. I'll go with this idea. Logging it as "exercise" makes more sense to my brain than logging it as negative food calories (which I saw in the database and other threads).
  • In my area, only 22% of deaths are associated with long-term care facilities.
  • I find my Fitbit to be pretty accurate and walking is my major form of exercise. I'm 56, 5'3", ~117 lbs. I have to eat slightly more than MFP calories + Fitbit exercise calories to maintain. I use "not very active" (aka sedentary) on MFP. Here are a few recent daily steps and exercise calories (guess which day was the one…
  • By next Saturday, all 4 of us (me, spouse, adult child and their spouse) will be fully vaccinated (2 weeks after our second jab), so we will start having indoor maskless get togethers with hugs! I've also scheduled our dental appointments, which was the only medical procedure I was hesitant to do since it involves open…
  • Yes I joined. I like contests, so why not. I've logged for almost 2 years, so no it didn't change my logging. Please keep the contests coming. And if exercise is the requirement, figure out how to count the exercises added by worn devices.
  • A similar product I believe called Fast Fries existed years ago. My kid was crazy about them when young. (Turning 32 this month, so it was a long time ago.)
  • I've been trying to decide if it's reasonable to like myself but still hate my body.
  • I like the DownDog app. It has a lot of options and is different every time you use it (even using the same settings). I'm pretty sure they offer a trial period to test it out. They also have sales occasionally and, oddly, will renew you at the sale price each year.
  • My guess from my own experience is that your heart rate gets elevated at work beyond the amount of effort you are exerting. The only time my Fitbit is really obviously off is when I have tachycardia (fast heart rate, due, in my case, to a congenital heart defect). It only happens occasionally, but it is funny to watch my…
  • I can't really guess if yours is accurate, but I've had my Fitbit over a year and I feel like it is very close on calories (perhaps a tiny bit low). Monitor it with actual weight loss for a couple of months to get a better idea how accurate it is for you. This is mine today. 5'3", 56 yo, 117 lbs I did about a one hour…
  • I want the recipe for that first cake. It looks divine!
  • Wow, you found Love, Corn! I thought Ibotta was just punking us! But, then, my local stores are on the small size, so I can't find about a third to half of the free or bogo offers.
  • Certainly it is possible for a scale to take information into account to make an educated guess about clothing weight. Examples of data that could be used might be gender, height, weight, age, day of the week, time of day, season, location, and current weather. This would still just be a guess, but could possibly be more…
  • Great advice above. I find it helpful to keep a simple spreadsheet. On a daily basis, I make sure that my net calories (eaten - exercise) stays above 1200 (minimum for female body). On my spreadsheet, the net calorie cells turn red if under 1200. On a monthly basis, I make sure I am on goal for maintenance (weight loss in…
  • For $6, I can get FIVE 70 calorie waffle cones with a single scoop of ice cream in them at my local ice cream parlor!
  • Quick explanation: Nearly all entries in the database, including the ones that come up from scanning, were entered by other MFP users. In the US, at least, all labels were updated recently to change details (adding potassium, "added sugars", etc). For many products this also updated calories. Perhaps because it's more…
  • The most important thing to remember about doctors is that they are not scientists! Sure they took a few science type classes (chemistry, for example), but most of medical school is memorization, not "scientific method". This is why my very good retina specialist can tell me with a straight face that he "lost weight by…
