A man’s two cents. Women who are confident and strong are the most beautiful to us. I can’t see what you’re describing but I’m willing to bet you will look more confident and more strong if you keep up with your resistance training! You lost 25 kg and you lift weights!! Go show off!!!

I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 2 1/2 years. I love it and it has really helped me improve my health. I weighed >100 lbs more when I started than I do now. Couldn’t agree more with the comments above about the specific gym. I was lucky and joined the first one I walked into but I feel they are great. The coaches know I…

Definitely diet for me. At night I fight the snack demons! I leave calories for snacks but it’s a daily battle and has lasted for two plus years!! Sometimes the demons win the battle but I’m winning the war lol! I enjoy my gym time and my walks so they’re not so much of a battle. This wasn’t the case in the beginning when…

And I am glad to hear your shout! Inspirational for me!! Congrats!! You’re awesome!!

Your weight loss is better than a pound a week!! 17 lbs in 13 weeks is awesome!! Congrats!! I don’t know how much you need to lose but as you lose you burn less calories doing everyday things because you’re carrying less weight. So the loss becomes a little slower. Imagine if you strapped 17 lbs to yourself and did your…

Good points all!! Another important point- packaging!! Think about this- the amount of packaging needed for tap or home filtered water, fresh fruits, veggies, meat, fish etc is minimal but the amount of packaging required for bottled water, Soda pop, chips (crisps), frozen dinners etc has a huge environmental impact. It is…

Just requested myself!! Thanks!

This sounds pretty normal to me. All forms of squats are notorious for causing soreness but they are great for the lower body. As you continue to do these workouts, the soreness will likely lessen, but you will likely often experience some soreness. For me, today my shoulders are sore because yesterday was very upper body…

I only recently started looking at the step counter in my phone. It’s an eye opener. There were many weeks that I averaged only about 5-6000 steps per day before. I also noticed it was declining for some reason. The data was in my phone but I just never paid attention! I’m trying to add more activity without an extra…

When the lockdown thing started I had a really hard time motivating and doing the workouts from home. The gym supplied daily workouts, but it was too easy to put it off and eventually bail on doing anything. Then my brother mentioned he was having a motivation problem as well so we started working out “together” via…

My brother, sister-in-law and I worked out for months (April-July) until my gym reopened in the parking lot. We would use WhatsApp and basically do the same workout but on our own. I’m a little more experienced so I would send the workout (my gym provides us home workouts every day but you can easily find them online) and…

Diatonic12. I don’t understand your last post. Are you disagreeing with your prior post?

Firstly- congratulations on the very significant weight loss you’ve achieved! That including starting and starting is always the hardest part so it sounds like you’re doing great!! Also it sounds like your mindset of slow and steady is spot on!! So please - get your encouragement from yourself!! You obviously have this in…

Why did I start- at 57 I had many sick friends and relatives- all as a result of being out of shape. Many people I know are taking cholesterol meds, blood pressure meds and/or type 2 diabetes meds. Some are living with severe disease. I knew that if I went to a doctor they would prescribe same for me so I avoided the…

I definitely feel a mood bump up if I train. Right now I work out outdoors and when the weather is bad I get the double effect of a rainy dreary day plus no working out. Trying to do some indoor stuff but it’s honestly tough to get moving sometimes. Also, rest days are killer if I don’t have an “active” recovery activity…

My wife has type 2 diabetes for many years. Don’t be discouraged- it can managed! As others have stated avoid carbs - in particular sugar (including soft drinks and fruit juices) and “white carbs” (ie pasta, white breads and most regular beads -whole grain only) including fruit (for now until you see doc and dietician).…

I have a similar problem. In my case my trainers say it was due to weak core as well as tight hip flexors from sitting a lot. For the hip flexors I do some dynamic stretching and after lot’s of core work, the problem has definitely lessened a lot! Still noticeable if I try one legged or “pistol” squats but getting better.…

Never thought of posting something instead or eating it!! 🍔🍪🍦🍗🍟🌮🍕. That feels awesome!!

You don’t say much about the rest of your diet so hard to say. I do like a little fat from peanut butter or eggs etc in the morning to help get though to lunch. But barring that you need a huge lunch or snacks because of hunger it seems like your post workout meal is not the issue unless it is a huge portion. Maybe look…

Sorry to say. YES that drift looks like 55 calories to me. I hate my answer!!

r. This is amazing!! Good for you!! Keep at it!
Yes. And I’ll also explain why I asked. I generally watch videos about some of the weightlifting or gymnastics moves I will be doing. For instance if I’m going to deadlift or box jump I may watch videos on form. Often I also watch record achievements etc as I…

This is a process and a lifestyle change. Take pride in how you have been doing lately!! Sounds like you’re doing great!! Think about mini goals and non scale victories!! There are lots of posts here about that. Maybe there’s something in the gym that is achievable in the near future - stay on treadmill x minutes longer,…
Wow! You’re lucky you found a great goal today! If some of the other 4-5 trails are easier maybe give one of those a try before you build to the big one!! Good luck!!

Something to think about regarding “regular people.” According to the US dept of Health and Human services: “Less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day; only one in three adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week.” Please note that their “recommended amount” is…

I say you are definitely an athlete! See definition below. Sounds like you are trained or training in several activities that qualify!! I feel like thinking of yourself as an athlete will help get your mind around who you are as a healthy person. Clearly, being an athlete is a subset of the general population, and it seems…

I don’t use my bike exclusively for exercise but I do use it. It’s definitely a good way to get a decent workout especially if you pedal hard!! I posted just the other day and I seem to be getting about 500 + calories used per hour. Definitely a decent calories out! Try to pedal continuously-limit downhill coasting etc to…
