  • Most impressive! Keep it up!! You rule!
  • Trader Joe’s calls it “Everything but the bagel.” It’s great on avacado toast too!!
  • I’m in NJ USA. Gyms are still not open but mine does “outdoor fitness classes” in the parking lot. I’ve been going for about a month. They are insane about cleaning equipment etc so I feel very safe. Each person is given a small bucket with hospital grade disinfectant, hand sanitizer, and a clean wash rag. We must wipe…
  • My daughter calls this “revenge body.” It seems to be working for her.
  • You’re doing great!! Keep up the hard work!! What should you do?- keep going to the gym and doing what you can, how you can!!! The people at your gym who are acting badly are just stupid !! Any real athletes there will respect the effort. Any real athlete knows it’s ALL about the effort!! Obviously it is harder for an…
  • Thanks all. I’m on an aluminum frame road bike on pretty decent roads. I was afraid these would be the answers I got! Was sooo hoping it was close to the MFP ranges but I’m guessing that MFP is about double. Dang! But it’s definitely better to be realistic! So I’m thinking I’ll stick with Strava which is the lowest…
  • Lots of good ideas here. What helps me: Casein (as mentioned above) or yogurt at bedtime, fish oil or Turmeric (to reduce inflammation), and foam rolling when it just gets bad!
  • Wow! Congrats you wore out dumbells!! Awesome!! I like hockey or athletic tape but duct tape will do as well
  • Whoops. Wanted to edit post but technical difficulties MFP 1035-1288 so I’d split at like 1150. Similar to bicycling magazine
  • My issue is snacks around the house. When I was getting support and my wife was on the journey with me, it was much easier because calorie dense snack foods were “out of sight- out of mind.” She certainly has the right to eat what she wants but it is now requiring me to have much more willpower. Chips etc in the house is…
  • I regret to say I’m a member of this club lol!! I was 201 May 5 and 215 July 25. It’s frustrating because it comes on so quick and take so long to get off. I’m a stress and boredom eater and I was stressed and bored!! I’m now re-motivated and will get this weight off ASAP!!
  • Wow. You are awesome!! I hope you decide to post the monthly progress photos- I would be inspired to follow along. It sounds like you got this!! The toughest part is starting and you already did that!! Keep going!!
  • I don’t think it will make too much difference but it’s a start at least. I do like the calorie publication of big chain restaurants. I don’t think many people realize just how many calories some of this stuff they serve has. My own experience is that when my wife and daughter saw how many calories are in “Aussie Cheese…
  • Forgot to mention.... if you skip or cut down your circuit training and increase running you’ll lose “weight” easily but it will be loss of muscle mass. Not my preference but maybe yours.
  • She’s a beauty!! You’re going to love riding this bike and I’ll bet you’ll crush all previous mileage PRs!! Enjoy the early birthday gift to yourself and the birthday itself!!
  • Did your doctor suggest that you actually need to lose weight? If you have a good body fat percentage and everything else is good why don’t you just stay where you’re at. If you circuit train five hours per week you likely have more muscle than the average person and the BMI recommendations are set around average.
  • Anyone ever read up on the Spanish Flu of 1918. 102 years ago and they controlled spread (in some cities that mandated it) with social distancing and mask wearing:
  • Try using a spray-on olive oil. But don’t use much. Just a little goes a long way to moistening and adding a nice crispness. I usually wait until near the end of cooking - five minutes before done- before spraying and am careful to not overdo it (I like the chicken better when I overdo it but...). Obviously this is adding…
  • My personal observation is that if I am consistently working out I seem to care more about my nutrition especially calorie intake. So for me, good eating habits and exercise go hand in hand and I’ve never been successful when isolating one or the other although I’ve tried many times. Without exercise I should be around…
  • Try doing bench or floor presses with a barbell or dumbells or bag of rice or anything that challenges your pressing muscles. Those pushups will come!!
  • Hollow rock holds. Maybe only a few seconds at first but you’ll get better quickly
  • You are awesome!
  • Hi Ollie, A lot of good advice here already. Just want to throw in a couple of things: - firstly congratulations on getting started!! That’s always the hardest part. - Being self conscious is natural. But try to press through. Most people are good at heart and most want to improve themselves in some way. People don’t look…
  • Most importantly- congratulations!! You lost 12 pounds and 10% body fat in 12-13 weeks!!! You are rocking this! I hope you feel great- your health has to be way better. As far as one slice of cake- oh well you are human! You will not and cannot be perfect but you can be great and it sounds like you are. I try to really…
  • You can and you will!! Love the accountability of a challenge like this!!
  • Yes!! Although I wanted to lose specifically in my belly, I guess I started to lose in my face!! I wasn’t even looking there lol! Took a long while to notice the belly. Photos are a great idea. Then you can keep all of us inspired too!!
  • I feel like I’m keeping fit. I’ve been doing tons of body weight exercises. For cardio simply running/walking/rope jumping/jumping jacks/mountain climbers etc. I also ride a bike. For weights at first I used a backpack loaded with 25 water bottles (approx 25 lbs). Then I moved to an old gym bag filled with sand (20kgs-…
  • Visiting my 94 year old mom. Her independent living facility doesn’t allow visitors right now but likely will soon!
  • Please lighten up with this!! You are most certainly not rubbish! You missed an extremely minor goal but will hopefully have many years of being on track! Think of a lifestyle change for the long term. 373 calories probably still has you in deficit anyway!! Just move on and celebrate when you find your health improving…
  • Maybe foam rolling doesn’t actually “help” my muscles, but it sure does give a much welcome pain relief when I have DOms!! Especially for my quads.
