Agreed. I've noticed as I'm getting older I've had to tweak my macros a lot more to achieve the desired cut but maintain my weight. Things I've done in the past, both nutrition and workout wise, helped me tighten up but I wasn't as cut as I wanted to be. More than anything, nutrition has played the biggest part.

Overall I'm feeling great (knock on wood)! The one thing I've noticed is some foods aren't agreeing with my stomach and my metabolism has slowed down a lot.

You can easily take the course online. The first portion is all from textbook- anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, fitness assessment, special considerations, etc. The second portion is hands on (fitness assessment/proper lifting techniques) so I'm not sure how they will accommodate that portion. Once you pass those…

Hello fellow middle-agers. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm 43 and attempting to age in reverse, Benjamin Button style. I'm ten years into my fitness journey, still learning and going strong. I was previously certified as a PT which I obtained for personal reasons not for employment. With that said, if you have any…

You are off to a great start! Gaining knowledge is a smart move. As a former PT I would say start with a routine that has basic movements so you can learn the proper forms and get use to the exercises. You want to start slow then progress from there. The post above has a link which has some great ideas. There are also…

Personally, I prefer to hold myself accountable as no one knows me better than I know myself. As long as I'm honest with myself then it works well towards achieving goals. I also prefer to workout alone. I like to follow specific programs, strict rest periods etc. I also like to get in and get out. Too often the gym…
