*fist pumps* Thank you, 3 years on MFP and I've never been mentioned in here. You've made my day.

I live in a castle with a moat full of crocodiles, and reguarly have the queen over for tea. Actually, as I was saying to an American friend of mine the other day, I'm glad I'm not royalty, none of their men age well. I'm the same age as Prince Harry!
-
Oh I don't doubt that - it's just that I'm always code switching in here B) I quite like the idea of Americans using the word tart.
-
Yes indeed :# you sound a bit surprised?
-
May not translate with our American cousins B)
-
But we don't know her age, could be perfect

Do you mind sharing what happened next? Is it like a romantic comedy where these people are now happily married?

The first half is normal. On and off glances; you've seen somebody you like and you're just trying to initiate eye contact so you can smile at them. Fine. But the second part? You say hello and they stay silent and keep staring? Nope, that's odd. I'm not going to judge them because they could well have issues or…

There have been women that have caught my eye who I'd gladly stare at, but I won't do it because just blankly watching somebody is...a bit creepy? Unsubtly watching somebody like you've just escaped from the asylum is not a good look. Trying to catch somebody's eye is different though.

You'll soon knock off those 15 pounds with MFP. Try not to look at it as the party coming to an end, but actually a new one starting. An adventure of healthy eating, new habits and a longer life. Surely the thought of having more energy and being fitter is exciting? It's easy to see weight loss as a chore, but think of…

Did they just leave a restaurant and take the table flowers with them?

🤗 for Jo because were friends on one of my old accounts @Cat0703a 👋

I had no idea it was so big out there, when I was growing up it was quite a tired show with a geeky following from the 70s and 80s (the days of the Tom Baker doctor) - I never watched it but I thought Daleks were cool. Broadchurch was definitely a hit too. BTW, every time I see you on here I read your name as a Breaking…

Pan-handle shake.

Ahh yes, Doctor Who, a British institution that I never got into. Is it popular where you are?
-
Like in America it's the strongest swear of them all in the UK, although interestingly tends to be an insult to be used against a man. The Irish, and especially the Australians are a bit more liberal with it I think. Also, I don't think we're supposed to capitalise seasons. I was taught to do it in primary school, then…
-
Oh wow, yeah - your Irish friends have clearly rubbed off on you, many of those are words and terms that we in England share with them, I love saying 'good craic' and piss taking. I'm wondering what the censored *kitten* was, is it the swear word that rhymes with 'fit' but you added an 'e' to the end to make it extra Irish?
-
Haha, thank you! I'll keep using it, even if it sounds fancy :D It's a nice word.

I have a close friend from Long Island, sometimes it's like we speak different languages. We get by fine, but now and again there's a...'wait, what?' moment. She can't believe we say trousers instead of pants, says it sounds Victorian or something.
-
Just curious, does anybody in America call it Autumn? If I use that word, will people understand what I mean? I do find myself code switching a fair amount on MFP!

Hi there, I know it's generic advice but first and foremost always follow the advice of your healthcare provider. I'm not a doctor or medical professional. What particular goals would you like to set? I believe I've read that pre-diabetes can be reversed with weight loss, healthy eating and a more active (less sedentary)…

150lbs is an astonishing loss, congratulations. I guess if you did it over 3 years, you averaged about a pound per week lost - to maintain that consistently for that much time is really impressive. You've done yourself a huge favour health wise. For the last 20lbs, it sounds to me like you already know the way. Set a…

Ahh, cheers, maybe she'll be back, with the alias SmurfyThe19th or something. There was also that woman who looked remarkably like Smurfy but wasn't her, Wendy something. Can't remember exactly.
-
Fairly sure that's the end of Free Willy
-
Speaking of the old days, does Surfy Pants still come here? Like me, she had a couple of accounts. Actually, she had a new account basically every week.
-
Thank you, I'll tell them you sent me :D

Refreshing to hear somebody not instantly pick The Beatles. Growing up in a British household with a dad who basically worshipped The Beatles, I learned to despise them quite quickly. Everybody goes on about how amazing and revolutionary they wee, but I can't stand a single track of theirs.
-
Also 37. When I first used MFP on my old account I was 33, and wasn't prepared to admit that I'm ready for this group. But I think I'm no longer down with the cool kids, so here I am instead with the grown ups B)

That's an important distinction; hangry is real. Before every argument both parties should have a hearty meal and then decide if they still want to fight.

Li'l apple :/
