I had lengthy issues with plantar fasciitis and it’s really debilitating! Do you have special exercises and stretches? Those help a lot. For me, I found doing them 10-15 x per day made a bigger difference than just a few times. Especially those that focus on stretching the whole calf and arch. @jugar have a great trip!…

@KellyBgetsfit Wear a KN95 mask (or one geared for woodworking) when you want to be out in the smokey air. That might work well. @Terytha What a great title for a short story! I agree with Liselyn that you weren't defeated. True, you surrendered when you felt over-indulged but that is definitely the positive side of our…

It has been so humid and hot here - wild! Normally, we get humid weather for a week or two in August but not in June. I need to get down to the pond to cool off. With any luck, the town has cleaned up the leaves and sticks from the winter. We shall see! I’m finding NOOM helpful in this adventure called weight loss. Since…

@jugar CW 188.6 Yay! I'm finally moving down. Feeling better about that and it helps keep me motivated more than when it goes up, that's for sure! I'll be back in the evening when it's quieter and cooler in here.

Hey, hey! I won't be doing the steps this month because my fitbit died and all that jazz. As soon as I get a replacement, I'll jump back in.
-
You've got Alarm-Turkeys! Just as annoying as roosters, I suspect, although they go off all the time. our neighbors have one. well, maybe the word is now "had". I didn't hear it at all the past day or so. @jugar CW 192.2 That's what happens when I don't weigh in on time AND when living at Emily's in Winooski with a freezer…

Oh, for Pete’s sake! My post didn’t post. Grrr! @jugar, I’ll weigh in on Thursday this week - sorry for delay. Steps have been lagging because of my Fitbit dying. I’ll get back in next month. More soon! Xoxo

@jugar 191.6 I'll blame the higher salt and sweet intake mixed with the emotional brouhaha of OH moving to Wyoming until September for a job as a cook. This too shall pass! @DD265 sugar desires, I've found, are both physical and psychological with "brat cells" causing the most un-rest in the craving department! The times…

@Terytha the description of the "cloud-canine" reminds me of "The Neverending Story" with the "luck dragon". I'm sure you've heard of it, at least as being one of the "ancient videos of yore". My, how the Carb monster took over my food choices today! Oatmeal on its own is a good choice but then I didn't feel like…

What a treat to see so many of you "live-time"! Thank you for joining us on the Zoom meeting. I'll definitely set up another soon. If a Sunday would be better, please let me know. Also, I could set up a regular monthly time on an evening or morning time - it depends on our international friends. I'd love to make it as…

Happy Friday! Wow, I had a walk this morning with a friend who was only interested in doing the “mile loop through town” and then, after lunch at an old couple’s house near the Appalachian Trail in Vermont, we took a “standard” walk which was much more like a mountainous adventure! The husband is 86 yrs old and in spite of…

@jugar CW: 189.5 Yay! Now, if I can keep marching downward through the 80s, I'd be super okay with that! I'm having trouble pushing through wanting to have somebody cook our breakfast (or lunch) and find it wicked challenging to come straight home after running errands close to either of those meals! It doesn't help that…

I take it the additional minutes of exercise will be added at the end, yes? As one who is helping keep track, I want to be sure I'm on the same page. I'm ever hopeful our step-mother will recall that her spouse has TWO daughters, one of whom actually lives in the U.S. (just South of said closed border), has just had the…

Happy May, everyone and welcome! My name is Evelyn and I live in Vermont. My OH and I have 3 cats and my younger 35-yr-old daughter moved home at the beginning of the pandemic. She often times goes to visit her 38-yr-old sister in northern Vermont, which is when we go a little nutso food-wise. Next Tuesday, Sarah James (my…

@jugar CW 190.4 Well, that's a small improvement. It'll do for this week with more work to make bigger downward jumps next week. Heading out in a bit but will be back later this evening. xoxo

Oh, I can *definitely* help you with that skewed hip! Get the damned border opened already so I can help. Good grief! I've about had it with not being permitted to go anywhere. Well, that's a little dramatic but not completely. I come by it honestly what with our theatrically inclined family, right!? I'll touch base…

@jugar CW 191.2 Sorry it's late getting to you. I'm not surprised that it's a bit up but, I don't like it one bit. However, my pants are starting to feel a wee bit looser, so that makes me happy. I guess they balance each other out. We're back at home and have taken some good, long walks since Friday. I aim to keep that up…

As Gwen Stefani once sang, “This *kitten* is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!...” We could just put “snow” in there and it’s be accurate. I completely forgot both weigh in *and* your anniversary, @jugar! We’re at Emily’s and will return home later tomorrow afternoon. So, I’ll weigh in on Friday this week, OK? I hope you had a good…

Happy Sunday night! I had something amazing happen today on our walk. I wanted to go further than the original goal! I was actually pretty psyched since that is a phenomenon that I rarely, if ever have when it comes to exercise. My stamina is improving too, which is nice. See you on the flip. Sleep well, everyone.

Wow! You have all been doing so many things to keep on track and celebrate all of those places, squirrelly or not. I love it! OH said during our walk today that in the past week they've lost 5 pounds. Hmm. I asked which scale was used...my new one, apparently, which has room for 8 people but they used it like a "regular"…

So Happy It's Thursday - well, it's not as bad as it seems but waking to dueling beeping trucks and digging machines before 7:30 a.m. makes me cranky. Apparently, this "neighborhood project" to put in better drainage and eventually re-pave the 2 streets near our house will take all summer so...yeah. Something I'm not quite…

Oh, how I envy your ability to wear minimalist shoes! My arches fell years ago and if I don't have solid & cushioned support, I have so many other issues come up, including plantar fasciitis. Not fun. However, I deeply appreciate having happy feet and dancing around with great balance! Mine is still pretty good. It's bound…

@jugar PW 192.4 CW 190.0 Maybe I like this new scale after all! In spite of drinking as much water as I do, the body composition assessment indicates that I'm pretty low. Interesting. Maybe as my fat decreases, my water will improve? We'll see. My food has been ok. Serving sizes are still an issue. At least we've both been…

- Actually, I misquoted; the activity to steps for bicycling is 100, 200, or 250 (low-high) so, I'll go with the 100, unless you let me know you were more actively sweating.
-
In the conversion chart that I use for activity - steps I have that a leisurely bicycle ride is 125/min to 154/min medium and 182/min high. Unless you were going very leisurely with stops to walk, I'm inclined to use 125/min for you. Also, there's no need for you to convert the exercises for the step team. That's what I'm…

I had my first vaccine today (Moderna). Since the clinic was only 1 mile away, I decided to walk and I’m really glad I did. I did a big loop so the trek over was on sidewalks and the trek back, mostly back fields and then up and over semi paved roads in the cemetery. I also did several errands and I’m now taking a rest. I…

"Rabbit, Rabbit", as Nana used to say. It's said in the beginning of the month in order to bring good luck, according to her. @jugar my new scale has more accuracy than the last and is a real SOB! 192.4 (wtf??). I'm not amused. However, this scale also measures body water and body fat (for BMI) so, we'll see how that all…
