What kind of surgery did he have? Does he get up at all to use the bathroom? If so, he’s capable of making his own lunch, or at least getting it out of the fridge if you put leftovers together for him. A kneeling scooter or crutches of some sort would allow that much movement. Having worked in Orthopaedics years ago, I…

Happy November! I've missed reading all of your entries this month and will catch you up on why I've been among the missing the past 1 1/2 months. In the end of September, 3 days before her 63rd birthday, my spouse was diagnosed with ALS ("Lou Gehrig's disease"). We're starting to come out of the initial shock; going to…

Well, that's too bad! Personally, I think keeping your equipment set up in that room could help your child make another choice about sleeping spaces, etc. Since he's coming home from military experience, he could very well have equipment wherever and still be fine with it. After all, the new you needs your equipment close…

Hi everyone, It's wild that it's almost the very end of September and I haven't checked in since week 1. I'm going to sit it out until November or December. I'm selling a condo I've owned since 2009 (moved in 2016 when Sarah and I got together), and on November 1st, buying another place nearby, and then moving. I'm pretty…

Hi and happy September! Today is my birthday so, much of my self control on serving sizes was non-existant, therefore, I need this week off from weighing in and will start back on 9/19. My big news is that we found a house to buy and our offer was accepted 3 days after we saw it! It’s a home in a mobile home park with a…

CW: 181.5 Sorry for missing weighing in over the past couple of weeks. I’m home from NC and finally have my scale at hand. What a blast to meet you in person last Saturday, Lauren! My food intake has been eratic but I plan to get back into the zone this week. The trip to and from NC was great. Sure, there were times for…

CW: 182.2 Happy August! My name is Evelyn and I live in Vermont. I've wrestled with my weight and body image since I can remember. My spouses (I'm with OH #3) have all been 6'2" to my 5'2"...ok, I'm a bit shorter so, 5'1". In any case, my current OH is a cook and, you guessed it, loves to make lots of sauces and filling…

CW: 183.2 Sorry I was late from Wednesday, but I’ll aim to be on track next week! Have a good night. Intros tomorrow.

I’ll miss you! Be well. 😘

CW: 182.6 I’ll take it! The carb cycling seems to be helping since my exercise levels haven’t changed much during these past 2 weeks. I’ll describe it more later. lauren_989 the best way to get your tomatoes producing is to threaten their roots. Yes, you read that correctly. Take some chopsticks and push them into the dirt…

CW: 183.6 Hi y’all! I guess being in pain from bilateral ear infections has one benefit - no desire to be anywhere near others or eating out at all! This week I started a “carb cycling” hormone adjusting plan. I’ll let you know how it goes! More soon-I’m ready for bed-almost. Got to make my Caesar Broccoli salad with hard…

CW: 184.8 The good news is I went to the gym in person last night to restart my program. I haven’t been doing much since April when I returned from seeing Mom (and doing more walking, and vacationing!). I’m going to start some homrmonal coaching and see if I can’t awaken a few sleeping giants like metabolism. See you soon!

CW: 184.8 Sorry to be late on my weigh in. It’s a drag that it’s gone up again. I’m feeling bloated and tired of seeing that lower abdomen “pannus”. I need better sleep and more frequent exercise sessions during the work day. I’ll let you know what I come up with! Have a great rest of the week. More soon.

Happy July (in about 7 hours)! My name is Evelyn and I live in Vermont with my spouse and our 3 cats. I've had issues with weight since high school. Of course, much of it was in my head since I weighed a lot less than I do now but saw a much bigger person in the mirror! My goal for July is to eat more veggies and fruit and…

@lauren_989 CW 183.6 Sliding into bed and ready to crash. I’ll write more in the next day or so. Keep up the good work, y’all!

@lauren_989 CW: 184 Wrong direction! Geez-Louise! I started logging food again today…one day at a time. Happy Juneteenth! More soon. So glad it almost the weekend.

Here's a quick thought for you to consider: After using the toilet, start to stand up (without using your arms to push on your thighs), then start to sit again (but don't touchdown on the seat). Repeat 2-3 times every time you use the toilet. Then, stand all the way up and move on with your day. I promise you that within 1…

Happy June 16th! I've missed you all and am getting back into the swing of things. I'd like to change my weigh in day to Wednesday, please. My tracking has been non-existent, as has my exercise. I realize how easily overwhelmed my emotional system has been, especially this year with the death of my brother in May, 2023 and…

Pant, pant - here I am! CW: 182.8 It’s been a bit up and down but I’ll get my groove back soon! See you in the new month.

My post jumped into the “done” zone way before I was done! Little beast. I’ve been completely obsessed, compressed, and distressed over the last several weeks that I cut myself off from pretty much everything. I’m slowly getting back to my life and vowing to make some more changes. I’m going to get a stationary bike to put…

When I crossed the border to visit you all on Saturday, I realized I hadn’t been to Canada since autumn 2019! It felt wonderful to be with *my* fab-sister and Phoebe & John.

CW: 181.6 Oh boy - do I ever! It’s been a tough few weeks getting into F2F to check in with you all. I can feel you sitting on my shoulders, though, cheering (or egging) me on! Thank you for being here-I certainly need you! I had a lovely visit with Liselyn (@jugar) today in Canada! It’s the first time I’ve been up there…

CW: 182 This is approximate - it was closer to 181 on Sunday but it's been a week of craziness and eating out too much. Thank you all for your kind condolences. As Liselyn said the other day, we both appreciate your thoughtfulness. I've got some music to brush up on for the memorial service (I'll sing with the choir), and…

CW: 179.9 It was good to see dad for the last time last night. We arrived just before his late afternoon meds and then had some quiet time with him about 8 hours before he passed. It was nice to sing some songs to him. He wasn’t attached to any external monitors or IVs, which made it easier to see his whole face. We’ll…

Wowza! I’m catching up on posts from the last 2 weeks and learned all kinds of things, including Liselyn, my incredible sister (@jugar), is stepping down from the co-captain role. We’re definitely going to need to set up more regular calls so I can keep up with all your activities! I plan to walk to work this morning and…

Happy Wednesday! I’ve been home week and can see that my sleep is longer and deeper when I’m away. In order to improve it, I’ve started using one earplug, in addition to my weighted eye mask. It helps to hear fewer noises and fall asleep sooner, so I’ll take that as an improvement! I’ll work on a bigger calorie deficit…

CW: 178.6 Almost forgot to post it today! It felt good to get more walking in when I visited mom for 10-days. My stress was lower, too, which reminds me to ease up on myself when back “on the clock”. Working harder just isn’t necessary! This morning, I was all set to drive my newly registered car to work (the gift from mom…

That’s fabulous! Well done. You already know a part of what slides you off the wagon…your husbands’ comments. Instead of ignoring them outright, I suggest asking for his help and support. He’s welcome to try the experiment with you or not. It’s not cool to encourage you to do something you've decided against, even…

@girlhitchhiker Rest assured, my friend. I've had several breast cysts in my life (starting in high school), and having the specialist there with a possible ultrasound and assessment is so much better than you can imagine. Seriously! Having someone there who can answer your concerns and questions without having to wait…

@jugar I'm skipping weigh in this week 'cause I'm in NC with Mom. I'll be back in Vermont late on Tuesday, and will weigh in then. I've been walking every day. I've also done 3 water-workouts, 2 exercise classes, and a 30-minute session on the "cyber cycle" this week. I think it's more overall exercise than I've had for…
