  • @evangsimmons170 How's *your* patient? My spouse (not "partner," which implies non-married couple) was actually very cool, calm, and collected post surgery. There was minor bruising and slight discomfort, but all in all, was fine. I hope yours was, as well. @micki48 Steps for the week: Sun: 4,500 Mon: 5,300 Tues: 7,680…
  • Well, today seemed to zip by, getting ready for Monica to move home this evening. She just arrived and she'll try to adjust by having a yummy fish and veggie 'chowdah' that Sarah made. I really wanted to do a bang up "welcome home" sign, with balloons and banners but, alas, that wasn't in the cards. I have eaten well…
  • CW 186.7 My first weigh in 11/1 for F2F was 187.3. The highest weight I got to was 198. I think I could safely say that it snuck up to 200 but I never weighed myself enough to know for sure. Today was a beautiful day. Sarah and I went up to Emily's (northern Vermont) to pick up the rest of Monica's stuff to bring home for…
  • Happy almost November! My name is Evelyn. I live in Vermont near the Connecticut River with my spouse and 3 cats (3rd spouse, come to think of it!). My goal this week is to start reconnecting with my eating habits in a more purposeful way and to weigh in on Wednesday. I may end up changing it to a different day, but will…
  • @jugar so good to see Montana! He looks amazing. You *could* ride the way some of Anil's riders did...one stirrup with both feet. Haha! I'll inroduce myself here, if that works? I'm back and ready to be more attentive and accountable to my eating habits. I took a break from MFP when there was too much pressure while…
  • CW 186 blah. Too much eating for non-hunger issues and fighting perfectionist tendencies. It’s a long list! Sorry I’ve been absent. I’ve missed you! I’ve been swamped and a bit crazier with school and studying and all that Jazz. I’m going to shift gears & take a break. Getting things ready around here before winter sets in…
  • Tuesday! Wowza. It’s been busy with school but we’re going do get into a routine with Pilates. I told my spouse that this needs to happen for us both. I need help to get going so, we agreed to take it gently and really learn the basic cues and stay-safe strategies so our backs won’t tweak out. Little by some, it will…
  • @FatSlayer1016 I’ve been a bit absent from writing this month but please know that your account inspired me to start contributing again. Thanks for your willingness to bring all of your feelings and thoughts to the table. You give me permission to do the same. @jugar CW: 185.4 A poem for today: My stress is up, as is my…
  • @micki48 Friday steps 3,200. Pretty sad compared to Thursday! I’ll be setting up my low impact elliptical motion device later this weekend. That should help me move more while studying. It’s even useable beneath the desk! It’s been hard to connect online this week but once the dust settles from the start of the semester,…
  • ...said no one ever! LOL It might be fun to try that. Sure beats getting riled up to stress eat or, more likely, “stress beatyourselfup”!! @jugar CW 184.5 Steps: Monday 4,700 Tuesday 5,500; Wednesday 5,230; Thursday 9,780 My goal for steps was 6,000 for the last few months. I’m going for 8,000 this month. School’s going…
  • @micki48 Steps Please let me know if you still need Thurs. More to come Fri - 4,000 Sat - 4,500 Sun - 6,800
  • @micki48 Steps: Sun 8/23 4,880 Mon 8/24 6,500 Tues 8/25 7,200 Wed 8/26 5,000 Thur 8/27 4,300 I cooked up a storm today in order to feel in better control of my intake. I think it helped. It also helped that I had some time to myself to do that. It's good when my spouse has work away from the house so I can get to some of…
  • Happy Wednesday, almost Thursday. I’ve tried to get this info posted all freakin day and am finally here. Sheesh! I guess the ebb & flow are out of sync or something. @jugar I weighed 185.5 this morning. Sigh. I’ve been enjoying salty foods (& food in general) more than needed recently, which hasn’t done me any favors! So,…
  • Wondering Wednesday. I'm wondering when I'm going to remember when it's weigh-in Wednesday! I need a pass this week. I'll be back for next week. @Terytha it's super easy to make yogurt with the extra milk. since lower fat usually makes for wimpy, watery yogurt, I think you'd find the whole fat will be just about "normal".…
  • It's really easy to get wrapped into this pattern, isn't it? That's why "repeating behaviors and expecting different results" is called, "insanity". I live this one every so often and it is definitely irksome. The only way to change a habit is to replace it with something else. Make a small change and celebrate the heck…
  • @jugar CW 184 Grrrrr! I readjusted m’y calculated food and believe it’ll get me going down, again. I’m ready! I’m walking more and swimming, too. I guess my body is super good at water retention when it’s so bloody hot! Well, pretty soon, it’ll be Fall with a school schedule, 13 credits, and all that jazz. Holding onto the…
  • Oh, phooey. I forgot to weigh myself first thing today. Sigh. I’ll do it in the morning and post right away. Sorry! Too many days have run into each other. G’night!
  • Steps: 5,700 and 25 minutes swimming. I’ll let you work your magic on those minutes of exercise to steps, @jugar. Thanks! I’ll write more tomorrow and try to catch up a bit earlier while it’s cooler.
  • @micki48 Sat steps: 8,255 Sunday: 3,006 Just home from helping Emily at a small wedding yesterday. Need to sleep, now. Xoxo
  • Steps: 7,010 @evangsimmons170 I could picture your entire adventure! Thanks for sharing and for being such a good entertainer! Have a fab weekend.
  • @micki48 Steps today (Thursday) 7,120 Even though I drive for 5 hours round trip, I had some good walking with Monica. My rainbow for the day evened out after a very tan breakfast and lunch. Supper had reds, purples, green, and orange. More tomorrow. Sleep well!
  • @micki48 steps today: 6,000 Also, swam at the pond for 30-minutes after doing a lot baking and cooking so cooling off was very much appreciated before supper. Off to bed. More soon!
  • CW: 183.2 Finishing up laundry then off for a swim!
  • @Micki48 Steps: 3,2500 (waaaayyy too much rain and heavy wind today - let's hear it for the incoming Tropical Storm). We have a large amount of potatoes so, I blanched them and froze them so we can use them during the winter. Perhaps family will be able to visit by then...there's always a chance! I made a lovely rainbow…
  • @micki48 steps today: 8,060 with 25 minutes swimming at a relaxed pace @jugar The idea of eating the rainbow every day is pleasantly whimsical and also challenging. Many of my choices today were variations of yellow (cob corn, crackers, bread, burger, cheese; until green broccoli, red & orange cherry tomatoes, and cucumber…
  • Hi everyone, Happy August! I've been a part of the team since the end of November 2019. In that time, I've lost a tad over 10 pounds and regained a bit, but am still plodding along. I live in Vermont with my transgender spouse (Sarah James) and am going to school for an Associates degree for Physical Therapy Assistant.…
  • What a good expression - I can relate, Rhonda! Hang in there. We're not completely down the drain, are we? No! I entered new information after a month of increased servings and aim to eat only for fueling the machine not to fix my cracked emotional state. Wish me luck! I used to believe that food could fix any emotion on…
  • Oh, I can definitely relate! Put the scale away until your next weigh in day. I'm serious! Write down the negative things you chew on in your head and check-in about the truth or accuracy of those statements...chances are, they're neither! Take another deep breath and give yourself a hug. Find one thing you appreciate…
  • PW: 184 CW: 183.6 Well, it's a loss albeit a miniscule one! Happy Wednesday everyone. I've enjoyed catching up on all of your writings and plan to do some more of my own before the end of tomorrow afternoon. I drove Emily (my older daughter) to SouthEast NH today to pick up her rescue kitty. It was great to have the time…
