  • Middle of October already? Geez! I’m glad the bronchitis is gone and my energy improved. I’m getting up early to go to the aquarobics class at 6:00 but wanted to touch base with you lovelies first. I’m planning to focus on increasing vegetarian fare (legumes, etc.) this week and also increase gentle stretching. I overdid…
  • CW: 177.6 Happy time in France! Can’t wait to hear more soon. Have a good weekend, all. Xoxo
  • Happy Monday, everyone! It makes so much sense for North American continenters to have Thanksgiving at the end of the harvest time...and not in November a month before Christmas. Oh well. It just shows how *with it* my Canadian friends and family are! More soon. xoxo
  • CW: 177.8 A great book for @DD265, @micki48, @Rachelw124 is called, "Go the *kitten* to sleep". There's a fun rendition by Samuel Jackson on YouTube I highly recommend. Of course, the book is for comic relief of the adults but it's good for stress release, which is half the battle! It seems I just barely introduced myself…
  • Happy October! My name is Evelyn and I live in Windsor, Vermont with my 3 cats, 3rd spouse, and 2nd adult daughter (the older daughter lives in Northern VT). I’ve experienced weight loss and gain since puberty and found success only when I did something extreme like Macrobiotics (Japanese vegetarian regimen) or Paleo. Last…
  • CW: 178 I’m sitting in the ER at our local hospital to check if I have bronchitis or something else. I caught the cold my OH was generous enough to share and I may not be going to NYC tomorrow after all. I’ll keep you posted. My eating has been pretty good. It makes a difference when I don’t eat too much. Quantity of good…
  • Happy Thursday evening! I'm skipping church choir tonight because OH and I will be out of town this weekend and I trust that I'll be able to catch up on the music next week. @KellyBgetsfit I used to say that there isn't an emotional state on the planet that *can't* be resolved with food. My wise sister @jugar mentions my…
  • Happy Monday (9/26, my OH’s birthday)! My daughter helped put together the requested Tiramisu after I went to work this morning. Wowza! It’s some tasty. It’s good that I prefer other types of desert more than that one, or I’d be over my weekly caloric allotment by 10:00 tonight! I’m heading to bed shortly and plan to take…
  • CW: 178 Mindfulness is something I’m working on with my meals and every day life. I know it helps me focus and get through challenges more easily. Now, for the discipline aspect of “follow through”. Not always my strong suit, but want to make more downward improvement before October. More tomorrow!
  • Amen! I love podcasts with women who talk about doing hard things. It’s definitely reassuring. I’m on a roll sleeping better this week and starting to feel more centered. Yay! My work has a big shindig tomorrow afternoon and then our yearly department “play time together” on Thursday afternoon. One would think having them…
  • Great colors in those woods! Sorry to hear about the apples but glad that you have one or 2 fewer things on your list considering the upcoming performances and travel plans! Let me know when you're thinking about going to NC and I'll see if I can pull it together to go, too. If I can't, perhaps Monica can. I can…
  • @YinxFed every type of push-up counts! Even those that aren’t the best form. Wall pushups? You betcha! Keep up the great work! I felt sluggish today but worked longer hours and managed to get my adjusted steps in just by walking around and mopping up water.
  • PS Look at you, @bowens1973. Amazing accomplishment! The views were inspiring, too.
  • @YinxFed, @ashleycarole86, @JEB03253 , @LoraineGB , @Micki48, @Bowens1973, @CarolAnnM2, @jugar Thanks all for the birthday wishes! I had a great time eating dinner on the restaurant patio with my spouse and 2 daughters last Thursday. It's so odd to think I've made it to the 65-year-old mark a little lighter than I've been…
  • I was in the therapeutic pool (92-degrees F) for 6-7:00 Aquarobics followed by 2nd breakfast, additional work out instructions for a newbie at 9:30 and then 11:15 for 15 minutes assisting a pool member to actively and gently stretch her calves, hams, and quads. The body sure is an interesting, complex place. When I got…
  • Happy September! I live in Windsor, Vermont and have been on the team since November 2019, right before "the Covid" Season took over! I've always had a false impression of how I look, mostly assuming I'm too (flabby, fat, lazy, etc.). Looking back on my weight loss/gain journey, I can see how much my critical self-doubt…
  • CW: 177.4 I feel good about the small losses even though I always feel much better when it's over a pound or 2. I can tell when I try to balance the humidity at work by eating things like Salt & vinegar chips...instant "gain" because of water retention. Sigh. Well, eventually, things will even out, provided I continue…
  • Here's another thing to post on your fridge or wherever..."even gourmet meals end up in the toilet". You can use whatever terms bring the point home! Happy September, y'all!
  • @KellyBgetsfit look at all those steps! Way to go. I'm impressed. Even when I walk to and from work, I barely get to 10,000 steps let alone 12,000+! @Kali225 that's great you're so close to that park. The small part we were in was quite posh. I can just imagine being on those grounds 100+ years ago. Yowza! Have a lovely…
  • Isn't it amazing how many down-sides there are to those things we like to think are helping us have "fun" or "relax", or whatever the case? I remember eating ice cream after a few years of a hugely clean diet and getting mouth sores that lasted a week...for 2 teaspoons of Ben & Jerry's! Your system will relax and be nicer…
  • @bobagurl2017 I had a lanky Golden Retriever years back who was so excited by visiting a friend at her apartment that he peed all over a book case. Sheesh! @eggfreak I laughed when I read about digging in your heels with pressure to sign up for premium! Screw 'em. Yep. I can definitely relate! @jugar I'm so glad Monica…
  • CW: 177.8 Up a tad and intending to go to a picnic in Brookline, MA, tomorrow. I’ll bring cherry tomatoes from my garden and aim to nosh on other veggies before have a burger or something. If there’s other less calorific protein, I’ll aim for that. I’ll pack you all up on my shoulders!
  • Happy Thursday! Winter is coming. The sun rises later than I do some days and my hibernation gene has flipped the switch. I feel hungry lots of the time, even after a good meal. Hmm. I’ll be more attentive prepping meals and delay my reaction when I want to stuff my mouth full of candy corn for a quick blast of energy!…
  • Such a good thought! I’ve never done well with humidity and hot weather. Now that I work in a hot, humid facility (indoor therapeutic pool), I’m getting better with slightly longer doses of exposure. The key for adapting is to take breaks where you can relax or sleep in a much cooler place or shower in your swimsuit and…
  • @jugar CW: 177.6 Huzzah! How nice to finally see 1 pound down. It's been far too long since I caught up with you all. Being almost August is astounding to me. Where on earth does the time go?? Unreal. Well, I'll be online more in the next day or so and hope to have read everyone's new posts. I'm still here, just running…
  • I appreciate the pain you’re in and know there are some wonderful techniques to help release the SCM muscles. Yes, it’s discouraging to have it feel worse two days later but remember, we live our lives every day, start making amazing changes including working out and BAM!! Stuff happens. Download the App called, “BALANCE”.…
  • I've been missing everyone this month - how did that happen again?! I decided to write a wee bit here tonight in order to at least have one entry for the week. @jugar CW: 178.5 It's been a challenge to make reasonable food choices this week. Even though I haven't had a menstrual cycle in over 6 years, my emotional state…
  • @jugar CW: 179. Yahoo! Feels good to get back to this decade. Let’s hope my extra exercise in FL will be a positive thing. I’ll need an extension for next week, unless I get back to my scale before Sunday morning.
  • That should’ve been “bits of orange”, not “bots”.
  • Definitely the stainless steel curtain rods. Curtains will brighten the green especially if some bots of floral orange are included. That green is lovely and deep and will certainly need a wee pop of colour for gentle de-emphasis. Perhaps a small accent blanket could have the same bit of floral accents to tie the room…
