I have a Dr's appointment April 2 and I had told my provider that I was going to lose twenty pounds by the next time I saw her. I can still do it but only if I don't falter. If nothing goes wrong, my sister has committed to exercise with me, starting tomorrow morning. I ordered a new pair of walking shoes and should…

Well, the scale did not move either way this past week, I'm at 199#'s. No loss but no gain. I returned to work a couple weeks ago, after recovering from knee surgery. I feel great! It's odd but I had a few days where I had no interest in cooking or eating. I had to eat because I'm diabetic but sometimes I really had to…

January 1. 207.3 ***** Feb. 13. 199.0 I think I would be doing better if I were exercising but I haven't been. I have a hundred excuses, but it comes down to laziness.

Hi everyone! I'm back to work so not posting as often but I read everything you all write! Good job and welcome to everyone who joined recently. Glad you are all here!

I was rooting for the Chiefs, too! Ok, I'm here to tell on myself. I had family over for dinner last week. I baked a cake and sent most of it home with my sister. I ate a piece and it didn't seem to hurt my blood sugar. Fast forward to last night. I ate cake, a lot. I slept awful. I felt awful when I woke up, and my b.s.…

Well, it's been a month and I feel like things are getting easier. Isn't there a saying about "3 weeks and it becomes a habit"? I'm amazed at the volume of food I ate every day prior to the New Year. I'm really making an effort to eat more often, and smaller portions. Eppen5 and others mention having a plan before picking…

Ladycopnh1, this week I'll be working second shift, 3-11:00. My normal hours are the overnight shift.

VeggieMeg71, yes! I love cottage cheese and I always have Cuties in the fridge. I hadn't even thought about gun but that's a great idea. I really need to commit to exercise this month. I bought a treadmill and haven't been on it hardly at all. Remember I adopted two cats a few weeks ago? Well, their favorite hiding spot is…

I want to congratulate everyone for doing great this month!! Keep up the good work!

Theleadmare, I do have access to a stove/oven and microwave at work, my concern is that I will eat all my food without pacing myself and then have nothing left. I had a thought, I can leave half my lunch out in my car and go out for it after a few hours. It might work. Maybe I'll set the alarm on my phone to tell me it's…

So I am scheduled to return to work next week. I'm sitting here making a list of foods that I can bring with me. I'm by myself so I can't go out for anything, and there are no snack machines. I'll be working from 3-11:00pm, so I will eat lunch at home. I have many pint containers of casserole-type meals in my freezer,…

I went for my final follow-up with my ortho doc this morning and got my note allowing me to go back to work. My job is very sedentary but it will get me out of the house three days a week. It's great to follow along with all of you ladies!

Today is my weigh-in. I missed last week because the batteries in my scale died. Jan. 1 207.3 Jan. 29 200.0 So I lost 7.3#s this month, I'll take it!

I love this!!!

Today was a good day. The batteries for my scale came today but I'm going to stick to my weigh-in day, which is Wed. I don't know if anyone will be able to understand this, but I feel like the focus has been shifted from weight loss to my perfect chem strips. I struggled for a year after my diagnosis of type 2 diabetes,…

I'm here, too, just haven't had much to report. Still waiting for the batteries for my scale to arrive from Amazon. Eating on point, feel pretty good.
-
Late weighing in because the batteries for my scale still haven't arrived. I may skip this week and weigh in next Wed. No big deal. I am absolutely shocked at how low my blood sugar readings have been, almost since day 1 of changing my eating habits. I have not formally done any exercise yet, I'm kind of testing my knee…

I was not able to have children either, due to an emergency hysterectomy at the age of thirty. The pain prior to surgery was unforgettable. So anyway, I don't think I will weigh in on time. I ordered batteries online so they probably won't arrive today. My knee is just about 100% healed. My food intake has been great, my…

Well, I thought I'd hop on my scale to see where I'm at and the battery has crapped out. Hope to get some replacements soon. My meals have been on point. I haven't left the house in a few days due to the weather. It's in the teens and snowy. Everyone keep up the good work!

I'm diabetic and on insulin. I hope to lose weight so I can get off some of my meds. Are you vegetarian?

We had snow all day here in NY. Everyone please be careful out there, seems that, collectively, we are recovering from a lot of injuries already. I actually shoveled snow today and it's only been a month since my knee surgery. It felt good!

There's a great big chicken roasting in the oven, and I'm making pork strips with peppers and pineapple. Just cut up a beautiful cantaloupe and washed a bag of black grapes. I have lots of lettuce, cucumbers, other salad stuff, ready to throw a salad together whenever. I have apples, bananas, blueberries and tangerines for…

Tawtyping, look on page 1, there is a pic of Rocky. He looks like your Lexi!
-
Tawtyping, what is your dog's name? He looks just like my Rocky. I was diagnosed with diabetes a little over a year ago, and while I'm no expert, I'm happy to share my experience if you ever want to chat!

Rocky and I would love to have company for dinner, anytime! Tonight we shared a small sirloin steak, cooked medium rare, brown rice and broccoli. He won't eat rice or most veggies, although he likes sweet potatoes. Today was a very big day for us. I adopted two cats from our local shelter and brought them home this…

Yum, just had my lunch. Half a chicken breast, and I put a small amount of tomato sauce and parmesan, a small baked potato, and plain broccoli. Delicious!

Is that your goal, 90 minutes per week? That's a great idea!
