Welllllll... today was tough. It was my last day at my workplace (it’s my choice to go, but I’m sad at leaving an awesome team) and when I arrived there I noticed what I hadn’t noticed when I left home: the bonnet of my car had been graffitied with spray paint! Bright yellow on my lovely black car - a stupid message and a…

That's the spirit!

Yay! Looks like there's a few of us here! I'm in outer Melbs, but on the edge of Gippsland, so it's kinda crazy. You must have motivation of steel because battling hypothyroidism is hard work! Hats off - you're doing amazingly well. And your "little" lunch looks soooooooo good!

When my kids used to say, "Ma, you're talking to yourself!" I'd reply, "I'm my way of ensuring an intelligent conversation!" :D Ohhh... that's sad. Particularly since it was probably GROWN in a regional area!

Thank you so much. Onto yesterday. It was a little challenging, for some reason. Hubby found it hard psychologically mostly, but we were also pretty hungry for some reason. Got home a little later than usual and when I arrived he said, “If you’d been five minutes later I would have eaten a chair!” Instant pot to the…

I will absolutely read through your journey - already I think you all rock, and the stories help me so much. Thank you! I appreciate and absolutely need a cheering section. And yeah... the food. You can kinda see how I got here, can't you? :D

You're in Oz too? Ach - THIS WEATHER. I don't begrudge the rain, but it's so weird - particularly when a couple of days ago I received an emergency warning for my area for both bushfires and flood! Your body isn't giving the last few kg up easily, is it? Plateau, or maybe this is its own idea of a good weight? Personally I…

It could be an electrolyte issue, but don’t forget that most veggies have a HIGH water content, and your body might be trying to make up for the lack of that.

Probably too much butter (too much everything, thank you DH) but it was soooo good. This is HUGE for me. I have a lot of weight to lose and I’m motivated, but it’s going to take a long time for me to get there and I can’t imagine how I will do it unless my mind resets, like you say.

Another good day - nothing unusual to report! The only thing was a big penny dropping moment yesterday after my ramen feast: I like to eat until I’m full, but the overfull? I think I’m past it. When I was doing 5:2 I’d eat a big meal to see me through the next day, but I think I’ve actually made friends with the hunger…

This is wonderful. If ever I get to the point where I need to take time out from OMAD it’s great to know this level of support is here! What a great bunch you all are.

First thing in the morning here and now all I can think of is bacon! Well done, though - that’s determination of steel.

“prepoop” 😂 Official term, right? Adding it to my vocabulary now!

Thanks, everyone. I feel so great! And so positive! Particularly now that hubby’s joined me. Re: the meal - I’m a little stunned, tbh. Because that was dinner, but what about the times I was eating a similar amount of calories three times a day PLUS snacks? Lots of factors got me to this weight but this one has been like a…

Heh. Just added it all up because it was such a feast and I was curious to see how much I’d gone over... it came to about 1200 calories. 😳

Just a quickie because it’s getting late and I’m wiped out! Date night with hubby so it was a bit of an indulgence but still - not too calorific and this level of flexibility is why I’m doing OMAD. I smashed: - A bowl of ramen - A little agedashi-tofu - A couple of gyoza - A choc-top ice cream at the cinema! And... somehow…

That’s an amazing result!

Wow... so, so close. You’re doing great - and bonus points for doing it with kids!

Thank you, thank you, and thank you! Everyone here is already my hero, and I feel so lucky to be among you all. And yeah... the food. I love to cook and we love to eat! It’s one of the reasons we’re (hubby joined me yesterday and I’m STOKED) doing OMAD - the freedom to enjoy a delicious dinner as a family or go out. Glad…

Hi LiLee, and great to meet you! I haven’t read your full story but have to admit what I read was interesting - never heard of a carnivore diet for weight loss before. I’m wondering: have you ever got your gall bladder checked? Your symptoms remind me of the very beginning of my gall bladder woes, which was at least two…

Had a bit of a tough time today. Read somewhere that drinking apple cider vinegar helps weight loss, and I decided to do it on an empty stomach, COMPLETELY FORGETTING THAT I CAN’T DO VINEGARY THINGS ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Oyyy... the nausea, the cramps. They were gone in an hour, but lesson learned: be gentle with the tummy…

Awesome!

Sure thing - that’s an even better way to be accountable.

Today was the day I was waiting for: no hunger pangs! Absolutely fine all day until about 5pm, and even then they were manageable. Cooked a feast for Sunday dinner. I’m bursting at the seams and I STILL didn’t get all my calories in! - Oyakodon and rice - Small servings of side dishes: kimchi pancake, shantung sweet…

Ohhh they look yum! I’ve done so much reading in the last few days that I can’t remember where I read or heard it, but I think it was a yes, because of the proteins in bone broth. Unless you’re a diabetic, in which case it’s a handy thing to have during the day. EDIT: Found it! It was Jason Fung who said it. I'm sure I…

Thanks so much, ladies! So happy to be here.

Dinner 18/1/2020: - Pasta bolognaise - Salad - Melon slice - 6 fresh lychees

Thanks so much, Brenda!

Whoa - I read all five pages of this and it was a nail biter! I'm new here but already full of admiration for your consistency, pragmatism and resilience. And in mentioning your grandkids you've just really driven home the fact that I want to lose this weight for my one grandchild. I minded her overnight the other day for…

Had to wave hello not just because you're a fellow Aussie but because what you wrote about wanting to share food and good times, and have something that's compatible with your values (being with fam, SO and friends is THE most important thing to me) is exactly what I'm after too. Plus, I love to cook and have culinary…
