If that doesn't lucky your charms this St. Patty's Day, you could make mashed potatoes with kale, or "colcannon." Excerpt from NYT Cooking: Colcannon is one of the great signature dishes of Ireland. The most common version pairs cabbage with potatoes, but the dish is also made with kale, and that’s the one I usually make.…

Here's a vegan shepherd's pie recipe ahead of St. Patrick's Day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuMS35fgkmM

Saved this. Thanks!!!

I just found out that 1 Tbsp. of Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa powder has 10% of the recommended daily does of iron. I may get some and start putting it in my pre and post workout shakes. Plant based iron absorbs in the body slightly slower than meat based iron, but still - it's iron. Chocolate iron.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I've been eating black bean burgers this week: https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/spicy-black-bean-burgers-with-chipotle-mayo/ I've been alternating dinners between black bean burgers and an orzo recipe I found online at the New York Times. Here's a cropped screenshot of the recipe:

Just ordered these from the local, independent bookshop. I've almost finished Ezra Klein's book. Next up is Plain, Honest Men.

Take the lump sum. Hire a lawyer. Hire an accountant. Make sure taxes are in order. Hire a financial advisor/wealth manager. Invest. Live modestly off capital gains. Invest some more. Buy things (house, cars, toys). Give to charity. Travel and eat like Anthony Bourdain.

There have been so many great suggestions since I started this thread. Thank you so much! Unfortunately, I have not tried a single one yet as I kept company with a nasty cold last week. I've been trying to limit my exposure in public while my body tries to manufacture the appropriate antibodies. I'm feeling much better,…

Excellent suggestions, friends. Looks like I'm going to have my coffee and drink it, too (and, lose weight?) Thank you very much!

That sounds pretty amazing! I think it's now time to start a list on a piece of paper that I can wrap my Starbucks card in.

I'm new. Add me. Resistance is futile.

Ordered like, "sugar-free vanilla cold brew?" Pumpkin spice lattes are good, but I'm all about eggnog lattes in the winter. I think they sprinkle crack cocaine on them.

Beer-style coffee... now that's something I could really get in to. B)

Obviously, I missed the boat while ordering my go-to 568,403,236-calorie mocha frappucinos at the Bucks of Star. I'll have to survey my favorite local cafés for their ready supply of soy milk, coconut, and/or almond milk. Could be fun to experiment with.

Well... water might. I heard Starbucks goes to some lengths filtering their water. One barista in an article I read somewhere referred to Starbucks water as "Siren's Tears."

The bitter, black nectar of the Gods is my social lubricant. My habit of venti mochas and frappucinos must change, and nothing beats the calorie count of plain, black coffee.
-
I'll have to try skinny lattes and Americanos, soon. Thanks!

I don't drink tea very often, but the occasional chai latte is nice. I'm a hardcore coffee fiend.

I also binged all seven seasons of Voyager recently. May you regenerate with speed and efficiency!

I have added you to my collective. :D
