One week down and I definitely lost weight, so for those interested 1500 calories is a good base count. No need to go as low as 1200 calories! I didn't do as much walking either as the weather was wild and I still lost 1kg/2.2lbs.

Personally I fluctuate, it might be sodium, water intake, hormones, or other factors. The 'Happy Scale' app is much better at predicting and recording losses, has great mini goals and shows an overall downward trend rather than a vague guesstimate like the one here on MFP.
