I think one has to be careful doing any kind of exercise while being in a 'fasting state' if the fasting lasts over 24 hours. In that state you might lose more weight but the body might start burning muscle tissue. Though a low intensity training probably won't hurt you. I never noticed any difference in weight loss during…

I have been doing keto combined with IF for months now. In the beginning it was only keto than after some research I tried IF combined with keto. TBH I dont think I would have been able to do both right from the start, you will put yourself under massive pressure doing both. Keto is fine in itself, I lost a lot of weight…

I wasn't technically diagnosed with it but was warned by my GP I was well on the way to develop type 2 diabetes. I was massively overweight struggling with high blood pressure I felt awful. By the advice of my friends I started to do keto, and it did help me. Not only did I lose substantial weight my blood pressure…

It is said in every crisis there is an opportunity. When it comes to these damn lockdowns I have to say by having to stay home on and off since last march, being able to focus on my health issues doing my diet regimes properly, I was able to drop off over 80 lbs. The gym closed, I invested in a home bike, some dumbbells,…

Losing 10 lbs a week is probably not very sustainable or healthy, not long term anyway, but then these guys want to sell a product. IMHO why pay for something that you can research and do for free anyway. If your starting weight is 400 lbs no doubt with keto or any decent diet you will lose -in all likelihood- 10 lbs a…

5.2 at 61.2 kg, I am no expert at female measurement but this seems to be ok, you are certainly not fat or obese. Why lose weight? If unhappy with shape and you want a better body that makes sense but you have progress so I wouldn't really worry to much about weight loss. I just think I could be wrong here, if the body…

Low intensity training is fine everyday but one has to be careful not to burn out. Chances are low intensity probably won't hurt you physically you can recover quickly enough, but it might get boring. But if you increase pressure-to keep it interesting- you will need more time to rest as well. Yoga is ok everyday IMHO.

A theoretical question and in theory it is probably possible to lose that weight in that time, but the question is should you. I have lost 5 st in ten months, but I was using extreme measures well outside of comfort zone. From paleo, keto to IF, 36-48 hour fasting all the way, it aint easy and seven months wasn't enough.…

I think that the eight hour window is slightly to long for IF, I would decrease it to six TBH. In theory-many will disagree-it should extend the time period when your body is on low insulin level thus help it to burn fat more effectively. You are right it does help to control daily calorie intake.

"Strength training burns relatively few calories by the way" It is true, yet whenever I asked for advice in a gym or on a field how to lose body weight I was told do more strengths training. So I did, and it works. How or why I have no idea, I can see the contradiction. The OP asked for advice I gave one that even for me…

Same happened to me, I think at one point during a weight loss it is almost inevitable that one runs into difficulties. While exercise is good i dont think more steps or more Zumba is the answer to more weight loss, though it probably sounds logical, the more calories I burn the more I will lose. Strange how the body…

When it comes to snacking I found what you dont have you can't eat. I especially find hard to resist chocolate, white chocolate in particular, just by writing it down I probably put on a few pounds. "Resistance is futile" so I just dont buy it, unless I planned it to be part of my daily meal. In fact I try not to have…

The irony for me anyway, I 'needed' the non-stop seemingly never-ending series of lockdowns to be able to lose weight. Last march I weighed 290 lbs at 5.8 fairly obese with all the usual stuff high blood pressure feeling fat and just really bad overall. Then the first lockdown happened. My job suspended, feeling sorry for…

Sure, I wasn't sure TBH about the context here. 800 cal target is madness I agree. I am also not sure if fasting is the way to break a plateau, it can certainly help IMHO to have a more healthy lifestyle but that's me. Each to their own as they say.

Using an app to log food is a great tool for accuracy calories macros etc but in the end it's just a tool, much like like a calculator. I sometimes play this game, I estimate the calories macros of a given food then check on the app if I was close. It is not rocket science, even if first you will get it completely wrong…

TBH I think any method that sounds easy to follow like intuitive eating is bound to fail. If one is obese the body's intuition is to keep eating until it's satisfied, something has to give. If your body's set point level or plateau is 270 lbs it will want to make sure it stays that way, you have to convince or teach it to…

Based on my experience to successfully lose substantial weight one has to reach the point where one is desperate. I was in a similar situation at 270 lbs age 48 male happily married with my also overweight wife. We became desperate. We didn't know what to do, nothing seemed to work, so I was looking for a plan that would…

Ok fair enough like I said I am here to learn. I was told the primary reason why IF works in the first place is its effect on the insulin level. If not insulin than why does it work? What’s the difference between eating 1400 cals in one meal or spreading it to six?
-
I am here to learn. Where do I say I in this thread calories dont count? They do. As far as I understand the frequency of meals influence one's insulin level, the more meals one has the higher the insulin. The higher the insulin the more the body wants to store fat. If I am wrong here please explain. If you are in…

Intermittent fasting is 'normal eating' you still eat your calories. The only difference is you have a time window of five or six hours a day when you eat those calories. The reason it works in theory is because while you are in fasting your insulin level-insulin the hormone that is directly responsible whether your body…

LOL I am keto alongside my wife, my brother and his wife full vegan, the only thing we agree on is IF-how they can do vegan with IF is a mystery to me they swear it's great. Sadly family dinners are a rarity.

The key is to buy full fat if given the option. Always go for the fatty one. Drink three cappuccino a day-shouldnt be that difficult-put a little double cream in it you are already around 450-500 cal. Use lots of extra virgin olive oil with your stakes and sauces, a TBS olive 130 cal. I love my home made mayo made with…

I have been doing low carb for months now. You could call it keto, it started off as a kind of paleo diet than slowly evolved into what is now clearly a keto diet. Paleo was a great kickstart but found it too restrictive for my taste I had to change it. In the beginning the idea was-very debatable- instead of focusing too…

I dont think you are doing anything wrong. At 24 and you sound like a healthy fairly active person your metabolism is like a Ferrari, with very little effort just a little mindfulness about calories you will lose weight very quickly if you have excess. But dont worry:))) it will change in time, your metabolism will slow…

Body I am doing 324 disagrees on the subject. Though 9 people hugged me that's nice. B)

Well i am doing keto+IF and it did work just fine for months without focusing too much on calories. It ain't magic pill-who even said that-you have to be at least aware of your calories for this particular method, any method to work-long term- as I have come to realise. I also came back to admit I probably made a mistake…

I know the feeling. I have been on keto+IF for roughly seven months now and recently I kind of hit the wall too. Having said that I managed to lose 25% body weight to this point, but long gone the days when I was losing 5 pounds a week lucky if get a single pound off. But then I was fairly obese at 277 pounds. I think if…

Guys give me some slack here. Ok I looked up what TDEE was. The BMR plus calories burnt during exercise. All good but if the BMR is unreliable it is still hard to know where calorie deficit begins even if I know exactly how much I burnt during exercise. But I dont want to argue too much, you are essentially right even a…
-
I can't argue with that. If there is calorie deficit one will lose weight. The problem arises though when I try to calculate accurately what my BMR rate is. I found that for me anyway the BMR is not an absolute figure but constantly changing for me almost on a weekly basis if I look at the scale. That's why I dont really…

msalicia07 Well done if you have succeeded, I would argue with the 99.99 percent success rate though with your suggested method. But if it works for you amazing.
