  • A slow cooked roast made with dill (dried is fine) doesn't even need salt. Little lifehack I learned when my father had to go low sodium.
  • I did IF for a few months some years ago when it just lined up really well with my work schedule. Never had the willpower to go back to it but it did help a lot and appealed to my laziness. I wasn't obsessing on portioning and eating tiny unfilling snacks and meals that just made me hungrier all day or worrying about the…
  • OK, thanks everyone. Seems my first instinct was right and if anything it would just be a bit leaner. @MaltedTea Appreciate the concern, and we're doing fine, everything we raise is just for ourselves so it's not a financial thing. These were some we were mostly letting run wild after a major jailbreak a few months ago,…
  • As much steamed broccoli as anyone could comfortably eat with some roasted carrots and chicken, with orange slices for dessert vs a burger combo and a shake would reduce your overall carb intake, yes.

  • We've only been to get groceries three times in the last month and a half. I cook a lot under normal circumstances anyway although nothing fancy, so it's not been too dramatic a change. But I've been having to get a lot more creative with leftovers for sure since we're trying so hard to save money and avoid waste right now.
  • You might try just dropping one or two heavy carb sources and see how that works...bread and sweets are the big ones people tend to get a lot of calories from while being the most processed and not providing much in the way of nutrition benefit. Fill your plate with veggies and fruits instead, the fiber will fill you up…

  • Get the fun sized chocolate bars. Last time I got seriously into calorie counting I lost 26 lbs while eating chocolate almost every day. I would budget myself up to 4 of the KitKats, coming out to 280 calories and refraining from a couple if I decided I'd rather squeeze in a few more calories from some other source. (It…
  • I'm 14 weeks pregnant and trying to lose, bit of an uphill battle here lol. But I wish you luck!
  • I just firmly believe a varied diet is important. Fruit, legumes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, oats, just as a short list...and other whole grains obviously...all these foods full of fiber and nutrition that are among the healthiest things humans can eat and that entire civilizations have been founded on, just being…

  • I'm back on this site for pretty much the same reason, I need to start logging again and get myself under control. The daily math and menu planning is the kind of routine I need right now and for me is weirdly relaxing, there was always this dread I'd been getting everytime I tried to think back on what all I've eaten in a…
  • I've wondered about calculating things like this too. The total is easy and I know it does all even out, but aside from portioning it into individual servings in more than half a dozen containers I don't know how to log it from meal to meal. And even if I did that it wouldn't be exact. ...I guess blending it as suggested…
  • I know any diet works if you can keep your calories controlled while on it, but keto is the only one that just seems genuinely unhealthy to me. I just can't imagine a diet where you have to give up so many things that are objectively good for humans to eat as not having some kind of side effects. And it doesn't help that…
  • I resent caffeine because I know consume unhealthy amounts, and any time I try to stop it becomes clear it's an actual addiction with the headaches, cravings etc. Every so often I do a detox which starts with just dropping one bag of flavored green tea into a container of water in my fridge every day, so I can sort of wean…
  • You're basically talking about eating one meal a day and two snacks. As it's been said, I don't see anything wrong with that if the meal is nutritious and your calories otherwise stay at a healthy level.
