  • This is funny because I’ve had at least 2 people ask me that. One of them got quite angry when I didn’t have an answer other than “boots with heels” (less than a half inch, but seriously, how else could I have seemed taller). I’m 5’8” so on the taller side, but always have been since they’ve known me.
  • The CDC says: (front page website) "The risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection in fully vaccinated people cannot be completely eliminated as long as there is continued community transmission of the virus. Early data suggest infections in fully vaccinated persons are more commonly observed with the Delta variant than with other…
  • I meant IFIT. Silly auto-edit
  • No, because we want this to end. And a neg test means that they didn’t have it a few days ago. Get vacc’d or stay home
  • Do you use if it? Do you like it?
  • I lost both my mom and my brother this past year. I’m not religious but I like to study astronomy and cosmology. (I took the photo in my profile) I do believe that they are around somewhere. They are rooting for you. Don’t let their passing destroy you. You will meet again. Be the person they want you to be.
  • I hate to agree with this, and hope that it’s not always true, but often it is. If you’re the “funny, fat “ friend, and suddenly lose weight, you’re now the good-looking funny friend. This upsets lots of established group dynamics
  • Because the other thing the vaccine dies is greatly reduce the chance of transmission. We want this thing to end, don’t we? We need to get everyone vacc’d, and if that means heavy pressure, so be it. I read a case of a woman who refused to get vacc’d, was loudly against it, til she got the chance to go to a Justin Bieber…
  • Praising their weightloss isn't rude. How it's done can matter. Stopping someone at the mall and loudly proclaiming, "Oh MY GAWD! You've lost SOOOOO much weight" -- wrong (this happened to me) Smiling at someone and saying, "You look like you've trimmed up a bit". -- what I say, and has always been met with a broad smile.
  • Normally you never charge at a charging station. My Tesla has a 300 mi charge capacity. The newer ones will have 500mi (soon or already?) I commute about 100 mi total each day, so theoretically need to charge it up once every couple of days. I just plug it in my garage every night though. I agree that this is not currently…
  • Time for electric cars! Just charge them up at home. I've been driving electric for two years now. I don't miss the gas station stops in the freezing cold, or everytime I'm already late. lol
  • I’ve not seen any statistics showing which shot people with breakthrough cases got. It seems like that would be an interesting statistic. If anyone has seen the breakdown, please post.
  • Yeah it's a little sad. I know when I lost weight people treated me differently, and I was a little angry since I was the same person inside. But looking at these pictures, I do have a different reaction to the same person before/after. I realize that before you get to know a person, their appearance is all your brain has…
  • Everyone mentions kegels, but after childbirth I noticed I had better days after doing my ab workouts. I googled it and only found one website that even mentioned abs for this issue, but I have to say that focusing on ab exercises helped me tremendously.
  • It's time for a diet break. Up your calories to maintenance for at least a week. Read through this... https://rippedbody.com/diet-break/
  • I think you guys are having a discussion with an AI training program.
  • I second the comment on hot tea. When I'm hungry and don't have the calories to eat something good, I drink hot beverages. This works surprisingly well. An old Weight Watcher's trick was to brush your teeth. This also works for some reason. I think the sweetness in the toothpaste makes you think you had something good. I…
  • My husband has never struggled with his weight, and loves to snack. We have a deal, he buys what he wants, and then keeps it somewhere I can't see it. Sometimes I know where it is, but if I can't see it, it doesn't call to me. For ice cream etc. he buys flavors I don't care for. I hate dark chocolate, so he buys a lot of…
  • Isn't this what the South Beach Diet was all about? The insulin index of foods? I believe the issue with that idea was that eating a food in isolation produces a different insulin response than eating it with other foods. So mixing ingredients produced an unpredictable insulin response.
  • I was in the same place. I feel that I need to 'brainwash' myself into the mindset by reading fitness forums/podcasts, etc. You have to get it in your mind motivated.
  • Your hormones changing may also mean your 'calorie out' has changed. Also keep in mind that the more 'in shape' you become, the fewer calories you burn for any given exercise. I would look into how many calories you are eating back.
  • If you got a worse reaction on the first injection, they say that indicates you were exposed to covid. Did you have exposure that you are aware of?
  • My company is taking surveys about how we would feel WFH 3 days/wk, in office for two, but no assigned cubes. (i.e. you just get assigned one on the two days you're in). I'm all for that. I work more from home without the 45 min commute each way.
  • There won't be enough vaccine for everyone for a long time. So, you don't want to take it? Good...
  • Not sure if you've heard of covid long-haulers: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-02598-6 https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/the-tragedy-of-the-post-covid-long-haulers-2020101521173
  • This is what I find so baffling. If we had shut down for a few weeks back in April and instituted contact tracing, this would all be over and we would be back to a 'normal life'. It's only because people refuse to allow themselves to be minorly inconvenienced that we are stuck in perpetual purgatory.
  • I think you've been misled. Masks DO protect you and the people around you. This is a scientific fact, and the CDC HAS made up its mind. Anyone who tells you different has an agenda that does not include your health. I don't understand how mask wearing makes touching a keypad or door handle worse than what you are doing…
  • I hope this means that if you or your family get sick, you will not seek medical attention and just 'live it out' at home.
