How many calories a day do you average?

Exercise is important, one can be a "fat" skinny person. Two people, same height & weight, can wear 3 sizes different. The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn. Muscle takes up 22% less space than fat. The more fit you are, the healthier your heart. Any movement is good. While you're chatting on phone, walk around…

Remember Michelle Obama's school lunch revision to get the kids healthy? And the kids threw away the food and wouldn't eat it? And what do you think they were eating at home? If one has time to go out to eat, they can make their meals (or like some of us did/do, cook a week's worth of dinners/lunches on Sunday & freeze).

You should get your A1C checked, if it is even close to be diabetic, which is very probable, cut your carbs vs a standard diet or you will be full-blown diabetic. Sometimes we need a scare to wake up.

Also depends on what you're eating. How much of the 1200 calories is protein, sugar? Are you really active? I recently switched from 1 lb to 2 lb a week goal (2,050 to 1,540 for my activity level). When I was eating 1,900 calories daily, some days I was still hungry.

danielle71686 you've just started, be patient. 1-2 lbs a week isn't "average". 1 lb a week is great! You want to keep it off. I eat 1900-2000 & 200 or so carbs per day. I exercise a lot. Had a couple of wks I didn't lose anything, but then next wk, I lost 2.5 lbs. You can easily up your exercise. Watch the salad dressings,…

220 carb avg daily (mostly good carbs, no bread), 1900-1950 cals per day. Lost 9.4 lbs in 7 wks. Unless someone is glucose intolerant, 3,500 calories is 1 lb, regardless of carbs.

In late 50's, female, looking for friends (preferably female) who are SERIOUS about losing weight and aren't quitters. Hobbies: gardening, travel, reading, trying new recipes, crafts, enjoy outdoors, exercise & love my pups. My "goal" is 1 lb per week (total of 90 lbs).
