I've been vegan for a little over a year, and vegetarian before that. I used to log food, but lately I've just been focused on eating super clean, whole foods and not portions. I still use MFP to log exercise and chat though. Feel free to add me!

Mine is wine! :-D I've made a promise to myself that no alcohol will pass these lips until after I have completed my first half marathon.

Thanks everyone!

What would you recommend as a good lifting program that would compliment a running program?
-
I would love to do both! Would anyone be willing to share their strength training program? Ideally, I would want to lift 2-3 days per week.
-
I just started lifting last week, for the same reason. A trainer told me that I wasn't loosing as much belly fat as I wanted because I was too focused on cardio. Now I'm lifting four days a week.

About seven years ago, I weighed my highest at 165. I got down to 135 for my wedding and have been working to maintain ever since. It hasn't been easy - the highest I have gotten up since was 149 and right now am at about 142. I would love to break the 130 barrier, and I feel like my body wants to do it, if I would only…

I LOVE it!! Put it on popcorn, in pasta sauces, in tofu scrambles, in grits . . . it is really the greatest invention ever. :-)

Pure Organics fruit bars. My favorite "fast food" is Chipotle. The sophritas are incredible! If forced to do subway, veggie sub.

36, about to be 37, with a goal of loosing about 10 more lbs and logging every day for a year. (Tomorrow will be day 180!) Feel free to add me as a friend.

Reverse wheel!!! I didn't see how the body could bend like that, and then one day it just happened! Also, crow and side crow. I am working on bird of paradise but can never seem to hold my balance for long.

I did pilates for a few years and liked it. It is focused solely on your core, so its not great for full body toning. I actually messed up my lower back because my form was off. If you do it, I would make sure the teacher is good!

I love sun salutations! I never thought about doing just those for exercise but, it sounds like a great idea! Are you doing Series A, B or both?

36 years old, 5 foot 5, currently about 139, ideally want to be between 130-135, but most importantly, I want to tone up. I'm very into yoga and am a vegetarian. Am I your twin? :-)

Hah, thanks everyone for the reality check. :-)

I'm generally a vinyasa girl, but took an ashtanga class that other day that I loved!

You may want to consult a yoga studio about a few private lessons. It would likely be worth the money to have a professional put together a safe and painless routine for you. The last thing you want to do is suffer another injury. Good luck!
-
Wow, where do you guys practice?? My studio would kick you out for any of that. How do you focus/listen to the instructor with all of that going on?
-
Wow!! You rock! :-)

Welcome back! :-)

My goal is to do yoga with more regularity. In the past, it has been sort of hit or miss. Right now, I am doing the January 30 day challenge, and so far, have done at least 30 minutes of yoga everyday. Starting next month, I will probably alternate in a few other activities, but my goal is to practice yoga at least three…

Looks like it is $18 a month after the free membership period.

LOL! Good article, but yes, you are right, that test is ridiculous!

I would find a local studio that offers level one or beginners classes. If you are really serious, ask about beginners workshops or private instruction, to ensure your form is correct. Vinyasa (flow style) is my favorite because I feel like I get in some cardio, as well as strength training and stretching. Hope that helps!…

Ok, silly question . . . how are you guys watching the videos? I don't have an internet tv, so I have watched some videos on YouTube through my xbox. The other alternative would be my iPad, but I don't know if I could handle a screen that small.
-
Same here! A good vinyasa class really gets my heart rate up!

Hello! My 2014 resolutions are (1) to do a lot more yoga this year and (2) clean up my eating. My husband and I recently gave up meat, so I am always on the lookout for new vegetarian recipes. ;-)
