No - the first session after a deload I go for the weight I was using prior to the deload and then continue progressive overload as usual

Just here to really confirm what OP is saying. I have been in maintenance since October 2019 and was able to incorporate higher calorie days quite easily in that time with no scale change, however over the christmas period I had one of those times where life tests your stress limits (finishing my PhD, watching a family…

Why not foster one for a while and see how you feel?

I haven't given anything up entirely but things I very rarely have now are alcohol, pizza, pasta and potatoes. Not because I don't enjoy them, I just don't relish the way they make me feel after eating them.

Thanks, I feel fortunate I am resilient enough in my adulthood to not let it bother me in a harmful way, but it is very frustrating energy to be around!

OP I totally understand where you are coming from. Just before covid kicked off I moved back in with my parents due to a break up and boy was I shocked at the language used around food and appearance in this house. Please understand I love my father dearly but here are a round up of some of his frequently used comments:…

As a researcher I am just popping in with some friendly suggestions to help people critically engage with the information they see on the internet. This isn't intended to be condescending but rather it is a polite way for me to alleviate my frustrations around this debate by contributing in a constructive manner. Firstly,…

I am 5'1 and lost on 1300 calories a day when I was losing the bulk of my weight. If eating high protein will keep you satiated then go for it, especially if you are doing any kind of resistance/weight training. I find a focus on protein and fibre keeps me going in a deficit but you have to work out which macro split works…

If you are using the phone app go to the side tab of 'recipes, meals and foods' - you can add foods there without having to add them to the diary. Not convinced you can do it on the computer though.

Holy moly! You are absolute goals! Congrats on your success

I had an unintentional bulk from February through to the end of April (prior to this I was recomping for a period of 15 months). Gained a fair bit of muscle this year so happy with that. Now looking to cut a few vanity lbs to see what's lurking under my BF - I can see my first row of abs all the time, even when bloated, so…

As someone who is constantly struggling to breathe due to allergies and lifelong sinus issues I have had no issue in losing 29lbs and keeping it off for two years

Another vote here for learning to log before making any changes. Accurate and consistent logging is the key to making MFP work for you so it really is worthwhile taking the time to learn it. I would also stress some expectation management - a lot of newcomers (myself included many years ago) expected every day to be…

I'm talking about my personal tolerance of the different types of carbs.
-
Complex carbs are the friend I can rely on to support me and say nice things about me when I'm not around. Simple carbs are more like the nosy neighbour you can't always avoid and you know they're going to be a *kitten* about you when you leave.

The kitchen fridge has cabinets above so just a thin layer of dust but in the utility you may find more dust with a black cat thrown into the mix - the fridge is her safe space

Beliefs - this has been a hard change but a pivotal one. Prior to losing weight and keeping it off I believed myself to be lazy and a binge eater. I worked on those thoughts and told myself I am a healthy, balanced person who does not skip workouts. It was hard work and repetitive but now I am a healthy, balanced person…

You're right though - carrot cake is the bomb 💣

She is beautiful like her mumma!

Rbf - I'm happy, promise!

My nieces refer to me as "bestie" and I'm honestly so smug about it

A big fat no from me. My intuition wants to eat an entire packet of cookies and a share bar of chocolate. Tried it once after my first year of maintenance - never again!

I am sorry for your loss, she sounds like an amazing woman to have known. For what it's worth, in my years on mfp I've seen a lot of your posts and think you're pretty amazing too!

We've been slowly clearing out my Grandma's bungalow these past two weeks after her passing and I have been hit with how all we are is the energy we project into the world. All the things she collected and cherished seem dull now without her exuberance and joyfulness. It makes me want to be more like her. She made people…

I did it once for about 6 months when I was in my early 20s. It started as a lenten challenge and then I carried it on. I went from about 7/8 cups a day to 0 and I can tell you it was dreadful. I was falling asleep at my desk and suffering headaches, it took about two weeks to adjust. I would follow the advice of those who…

I'm just listening to Atomic Habits - I love it! I'd highly recommend the Food Medic by Dr Hazel Wallace

I once ate a chicken foot at a Chinese restaurant in London. Very aware I was eating a foot and would not recommend. Second would be cuttlefish. Truly hideous.

I'm similar in stats to you and 1420 is my maintenance number on a sedentary day so seems legit - as others have said I'd think more about your macros and if you're getting enough protein. It's ok to eat your exercise calories back, especially if you are feeling hungry.
-
Firstly, I'm sorry you feel so low, please know you are enough just as you are and any attempts to change yourself should stem from a want to do something for yourself. I agree with others here that you should talk to your husband directly about this. I was with a guy like that for 10 years and no matter what I did or said…
