Here are pictures in three different stages of my body journey. I'm 5'2 and first picture i was 130lbs and gained weight through not exercising and bad eating habits, second pic i dropped about 13lbs so i weighed about 117lbs and i mostly did hiit at home no weight lifting, and last pic i did a mix of intense strength…

Yess I did take measurements and my weight and there isn't really much of a difference. Lifting isn't new to me, I've been doing it for sometime now. But I have noticed that I look a lot more proportionate because I lift heavy on my lower body, so my hips have gotten slightly bigger

@goal06082021 Yes I use a food scale, and try to control my portions as much as I can. I got out of the habit of going for seconds too. There may be times where I'll have a bite or lick of certain things but I highly doubt that it interferes with my calories count. There's also been few times when I go out to eat but I…

@Beautyofdreams thank you for the advice🙏🏿! I've for the most part accepted that my belly fat is never gonna go away and that It's probably unlikely that I'll get a flat stomach. Instead I want to train heavy on my glutes and legs to build curves in that area. I'm damn near an hourglass I just need my glutes to be a little…

@yirara Omgg thank you! Im actually trying to get away from that athletic physique and look more feminine and curvy😩
-
@Beverly2Hansen really?! You think I'm either a pear or hourglass? I've always felt that I was an apple or inverted triangle because of my broad shoulders and boobs. Either way my goal right now is to get rid of extremely stubborn belly fat. I know I can't spot reduce but this has been my biggest difficulties. Last year…

@rheddmobile thank you for the advice! It's been extremely difficult for me to tell what my body shape is. In some angles it looks apple, others inverted triangle, and then some other angles it looks pretty hourglass like. Regardless I feel like I'm very close to an hourglass shape I just need to get rid of body fat and…

Thank you so much for the information, I greatly appreciate it! I'm 23 years old just for more context. But im glad to say that I measured myself this morning and I've noticed that I've lost just about half an inch around my waist, arms, and belly. My hips seem just about the same which I'm glad about because I've been…

I have been in a deficit consistently and I eat adequate protein while keeping my fat low. I don't even eat my mother's cooking because I know she cooks with so much oil so I have been making my own food being very careful and mindful what I put on my plate. I workout 3-4 times a week and walk on days I'm not working out.…

Thank you all for the replies they're soooo helpful. For more context I just turned 23. In terms of previous diet I was fasting during Ramadan and didn't eat any food or drink water till sunset and I worked out during the day. I tried my best to eat no more then 1500 calories but I don't think I was successful because my…

Yes height is a huge thing. When me and my sister were at the same weight I looked bigger because I was shorter. I now recognize that 1200 calories is wayy too low and i am eating about 1500-1700. I just never know how much cardio and how much strength training I should do. Before I was doing intense cardio and moderate…

When I say "still had fat" I mean that I still have very stubborn belly fat that I want to flatten. I don't want or care to have washboard abs I just want to get rid of that extra belly pudge and also tone my arms a bit more too. I now know that 1000-1200 calories is wayyy too small so I will be increasing my calories to…

Yess I was lifting weights and attempting to build muscle. I was eating about 2300-2500 calories and 130 g of protein, somedays it was a little less. I also gradually increased the weights and it worked. I went from 35in around my hips to 37in. Because I gained inches around my waist too, I want to get rid of that stubborn…

Thank you for the advice, this was helpful! I'm not entirely sure what my maintenance is because every time I input it on those calorie calculators different websites give me different results, but I've came to the general consensus that it's about 1700-1900 calories. I'm now starting to realize i need to eat more than…

Omg you girls are amazing! I would love some advice. I'm on the skinnier spectrum but I gain weight relatively easy and I tend to gain on my upper body. I'm trying to do a bulk and gain some muscle around my butt, hips, and thighs for a curvier figure. So far I've gone from 35 to almost 37inches from September till now and…

Thanks! I workout 3-4 times a week and I most definitely do squats. I do barbell squats, barbell split squats, hip thrusts, deadlifts, kettlebell swings and I use machines like the hip abductor and leg press. I increase the weights and reps about every 2 weeks or just whenever I feel like my workouts are getting too easy.…
-
Yes I make sure to increase the weights and reps whenever my workouts seem easy! I've been lifting on again off again for quite sometime but never kept consistent with it after about 3 months. Back in January when I was lifting I gained an inch in 6 weeks and but in March gyms had closed due to covid so I hadn't lifted in…

Thanks for the advice! I want to say that I think I'm doing everything correct but im never too sure. I also tend to doubt myself very often even if there are differences. I'm just going to continue and power through and hope that I see noticeable differences.
-
Woowww thank you this was extremely informative! I'm eating about 130g of protein and doing lots of glute based workouts like deadlifts, squats, split squats, hip thrusts, leg press, hip abductor, etc. I increase my load a little bit every two weeks too and my body fat is about 23%. I'm not entirely new to weight training,…

Thank you, this was helpful! I think my surplus was a bit too high and I just found out that I was drinking a lot more of my protein shake than I realized😅. I also think I'm eating a good amount of protein which is 130g. I think so far I'm doing things correctly in terms of form and progressive overload (every two weeks i…
-
thank you for the response! Yes I think my surplus is a bit too large for my height and weight which is 5'2 and 119lbs and im eating about 2500 calories. I'll definitely cut it down and in another month I'll take my measurements again and see where it takes me.
-
I see, I think my surplus might be a bit too large. I'm eating about 2500 calories and im only 5'2 119lbs. Maybe If I cut it down it might lead to less fat gain.
-
Thanks for the advice! I'm pretty much working out 3-4 times a week with an emphasis on glutes and eating about 130g of protein. My surplus might be too large because I'm eating at a 500 calorie surplus which is 2500 calories a day. I might lower it down to 2200 but still eat about 130g of protein a day.

I see, I unfortunately store fat on my waist, arms, and breast so it'll be difficult for me but I dont think it is so difficult for me to gain muscle. Unless I was measuring wrong, at one point in the past during lifting I was able to go from 36in to 37in at about 6 weeks.
-
Woah- yea a 32in waist is way too big for me especially considering my height. When my waist was 29-30in I hated it which is why I decided to slim down a bit. If I'm bound to gain fat around my waist I'd be fine with about 28in and then cut try to cut back down to 26
-
Ok, I see. I just hope with hard work and dedication it happens by next spring or summer, I just hope I don't gain too much fat around my waist!
