  • https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/support/healthy-living/healthy-eating/recipe-finder/chunky-vegetable-and-bean-goulash I made this tonight, lovely and serves 5 and not 4.
  • Just a check in to say I've lost 5lbs of the 7 so far so on track with where I hoped to be. It's been interesting working out how many calories I burn so thanks again for the help with that as I'm eating a bit more than I was before and still on track.
  • Mine is open - in the UK and eating 1200 calories most days.
  • Hiya, I've bought one and am enjoying it but posted https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10854303/ as I too wonder if it does much. I use it for 30 minues a day but can only do counterclockwise - that's what I learned as a kid! I had pretty bad bruising at first but it's gone away now. There are some great…
  • 9 pounds since 30 December is amazing - well done ashley!
  • Thanks so much Ann, no matter what problem I have, more experienced women have always helped! I've read your comments carefully and have had a good think about them. I think Fitbit must over calculate as it says I have a fitbit calorie adjustment of 649 yesterday which seems a bit much. But that's for me to work out, I am…
  • Good luck from another 50 something. I just feel that fat only accumulates round my belly post menopause, things would be a lot easier otherwise!
  • My TDEE is 14000 if I say I do light exercise, though maybe walking 100,000 steps a week and hula hooping for 3 hours a week counts as moderate? I'll just keep doing what I am doing and re-assess when I get closer to 8 stones I think - thanks for your help!
  • Hiya and thanks for the welcome! I'm sticking with 1.5lbs a week as my target and am 8 stone 3.6 this morning - I honestly just need to get back on track. I'm very lucky in that once I make up my mind to do something, I do it, no matter what. Usually if I put on 2lbs I automatically cut back for a wee while, but lockdown,…
  • Great - just watch out for bruising with the weighted ones! I had quite bad bruises the first time I used it, but they've gone away now. Let me know how you get on!
  • I try to batch cook and like quite a few recipes in the Pinch of Nom book - caribbean stew is my favourite I think, it has sweet potato, kidney beans, carrots, peppers and lots of lovely spices. Yum. Carrot curry and veg chilli also favourites but I do need some new recipes which aren't carrot/sweet potato/chilli! I'm…
  • Starting Weight: 8 stone 8 (1 Jan) Goal Weight (by the end of this challenge): 8 stone Ultimate Goal Weight: 7 stone 12 Jan 6: 8 stone 6.4 (trend 8 stone 7.3) Jan 13: 8 stone 5 (trend 8 stone 6.2) Jan 20: 8 stone 3.6 (trend 8 stone 5.2) going to continue at 1200 calories a day until the end of Jan and then add a bit I…
  • It allows me 1200 calories for a 1lb reduction. Maybe you could go to half a pound if more sustainable? Not good being hungry, unless you mean just before meals - I quite like that part of eating a bit less as I really appreciate my meals!
  • Good luck with that. One thing at a time maybe?
  • Are you getting support for the thing that happened? Sounds like there's a lot going on and maybe getting help for the other thing will help? Try not to be too hard on yourself too
  • Hi all, this looks a good thread! Nice to read all your comments. 5ft 2, 54y Since the beginning of lockdown I've been putting on 2lbs here and there, and ended up 10 lbs heavier than 2 years ago. So January is about getting a grip, stopping baking cakes, and feeling better. 5 January - 120.0 12 January - 117.6 Hoping to…
  • Metabolism might not change until you're 60, but for menopausal women fat accumulates where it didn't before! Though lockdown and learning how to bake is definitely why the fat's there in the first place for me!
  • Hello, I use MFP now and again to help get rid of a couple of pounds, but gone up half a stone this time so using it properly for the next couple of months at least. I'm doing 1280 which is easier now I've learned how to cook during lockdown. The half stone is down to also learning how to bake! And also being mid 50s now,…

  • Hello, hoping I can join. I'm 5 ft 2 and petite so every pound shows. Since hitting menopause it's not so easy to keep the weight stable and I've put on half a stone in a few months so want to draw a halt, especially as it only goes on your waistline at this age. I blame learning to bake. Starting Weight: 8 stone 8 (1 Jan)…
